The much much much too early 2024 expectations thread.

I still don’t see where the Bills took a step back all their cuts where to guys we didn’t expect to be part of the team this year anyway. Maybe Morse but Mitch has concussion issues and was probably one more from calling it quits anyway. -

Don’t those teams also have brutal schedules? -
We picked a good year to need a vet safety or 3 geez
-
They had no safeties so this makes sense I’m sure they’ll draft one and sign another
-
Look they went for it when they added Von Miller it didn’t work out life goes on Id rather see them swing for the fences then sit there and twiddle their thumbs

With all these picks makes you think…

The comp pick formula should allow for qualifying offers like baseball does as when it comes to draft picks I see no problem giving an end of the second round pick for the loss of Edmunds who was the leader of the bills defense for 5 years but the nfl only starts comp picks in the third round. Of course depending on what Gabe Davis signs for Bills should get another 3round pick for him next year.

Dion Dawkins Value - Extend or Trade?
78thealltimegreat replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s getting extended he’s one of the leaders of the offense and he has the attitude that oline needs to keep its edge. -
Two things at work… one someone in the Bills draft room really wants a guy who might not be there at 28 and they have the ammo to go get them and I believe that player is Adoni Mitchell. Second this is a very very deep oline class so if they want to add a couple guys in the middle rounds it’s very easy to do with 11 draft picks.

Time to discuss trading Josh Allen at the draft and signing Russ to a vet minimum so they can load up on defense…about 10 people on this board…probably

The chiefs proved that they’ve won 3 super bowls where holding wasn’t called on them a single time
-
There’s no point in that the only way you beat the chiefs anymore is to win an arms race get your qb as many weapons as they can cause McDermott has proven even with a totally healthy defense he really can’t stop the Burrows and Mahomes of the world might as well outscore them.

The thing about having that much cap space it means you have very few players on your roster that are worthy of extensions so you have little depth to begin with. You can go out and sign a bunch of free agents but then you gotta hope once they get big dollars that they aren’t going to just take it easy and not really going to play all out. Still the Pats can completely rebuild their roster with that kinda coin and probably still finish last in their division.

This is easily the best receiver group in years two of the first four Bills picks gotta be WRs… I honestly dont care if Beane drafts 8 defensive linemen with the other picks.
