Bills vs. Vikings 1st Half Game Day Thread
78thealltimegreat replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In another year with two receivers and and a TE we are gonna look like what the Chiefs are right now -
Don’t know if Sea Patterson will actually leave Michigan but hopefully someone will fall in love with Haskins, Lock, Herbert, or Greer all who look pretty good and someone will give us a nice little haul of picks for

Would you draft Oliver or Bosa?

Just not a fan of players who have had abdominal surgeries that’s all -
Would you draft Oliver or Bosa?

Oliver I’m a believer in building an elite defense from inside out ala the Bucs in their heyday with Warren Sapp and Booger Mcfarland besides Bosa kinda scares me since he just already had surgery -
Really liked what I saw the game wasn’t to big for him just keeps needing more and more reps with his receivers

[Edited Title] Patrick Mahomes Looks Great

He sat a year behind an established qb didn’t he? Don’t even compare the two situations -

This game is why you fire Juan Castillo -
Figure we’ll get to see him running a short passing game and see him in a lot of three step drops and screens even with his cannon can’t see them allowing him to hold it long with the Chargers pass rush and the shitshow the 5 guys upfront are..then again do we actually have a receiver who can beat press coverage?

McBeane's way of rebuilding makes no sense
78thealltimegreat replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they get the benefit of the doubt cause they really are building this team for next year I doubt they expected this level of futility especially on the defensive side of the ball -
Losing 47-3 will do that not really negative but we are behind making a run next year due to oline issues that won’t fix themselves in one season 3 spots need upgrading along with a couple receivers, another running back, and the pass rush...the Jets play solid d and have a stable oline they can now just let Darnold start all year learn on the job as he goes which would have been the plan here if we didn’t have multiple departures
-
I’m stating the obvious but having an incompetent oline coach with the losses of Richie to the CIA and Eric Wood to retirement really set us back this year no cohesion means being careful with Josh instead of letting him learn and getting stuck with Nate cause you didn’t want to get Josh killed... Jets had a solid oline already now Sam can just keep learning on the job
-
I think we all expected the offense to struggle maybe not this much but still breaking in a new qb and 3 new starting olinemen...We are absolute garbage with essentially the same guys who where arguably better then the Jaguars defense we played in the playoffs last year...Might be time for McDermott to take over the defensive playcalling from Frazier
-
It was meaningless and first half dreadful but nice job hanging there to at least end this very strange preseason on a positive note

McDermott and young qbs
78thealltimegreat replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would probably guess but I think he’d probably ask Andy about developing a young qb before he’d goto Ron Rivera since Andy’s been a qb coach going all the way back to some guy named Farve -
At least we aren't the Cowboys

Oh OK cause Dak didn’t even play but I disagree offensive rookie of the years don’t grow on trees -
Since Sean is an Andy Reid disciple looking at Andy with young qbs his MO going to back to Donovan is sit them at least half a season this was probably the plan all along and a good idea after watching that oline anyway so Nathan good luck in Baltimore...your going to need it

You mean their backup which I agree with or Dak? Cause Dak is pretty damn good he went up and down the field on this same Bengals D last week -
That first 8 games look absolutely brutal and I can’t see an “easy” win in the bunch even the Titans who look like the easiest of the teams where in the playoffs last year
