I doubt he trimmed it down as McD & Josh for sure would've noticed. More likely to me is he doesn't use most of Daboll's playbook as either he doesn't understand when to use it or doesn't feel it stacks up against the defense of the week.

Maybe attack was the wrong word ... In defense of Josh, Orlovsky tweeted today that only 3 of his 11 picks were his fault. I didn't see if the 3 were identified. If everyone knows what's coming now, either the playbook is not deep enough or Dorsey was calling routine repetitive plays that are easily read and defended. If the latter is the case, why not just go to Dorsey and tell him to mix it up so everything is not telegraphed. Obviously there are more factors than that, i.e. quality of defense, injuries, etc but the simple answer is to mix it up. If Josh is now throwing into tight windows, why are those windows so tight ? Surely this could've been discovered on film study a few weeks ago. ETA - Dorsey would have had Daboll's playbook to work with starting last year so I find it hard to believe he scrapped it and started over.

That's the one - what I took away was Warner saying a few times he wasn't attacking Josh in favor of Dorsey ... but at multiple times, Warner calls Josh impatient or late and demonstrates how the plays are supposed to work. So it really was an attack on Josh IMO. I don't know enough about play design to call them a "poorly organized unit running poorly organized plays". But aren't these the same plays we ran against Miami, Washington & Las Vegas ?

It's a mystery to me then as to why Dorsey would change what was working. In my mind, any momentum gained in the Fins game was lost next day Tre was confirmed lost, the Bills arrived in London too late the next week, and losing Milano in that game.

The obvious question McD should have asked himself before canning Dorsey was what is the difference between the offense in weeks 2-4 and the last few weeks. Was it Dorsey's fault or poor execution on the field of a sound game plan ? And you're right, there are likely factors both on and off the field that we'll never know about.

Back to your subject - on whom did Josh's questionable decisions leave an impression ?

Your argument is valid but Josh was not on the field for the punt return against the Jets, Mac Jones turning into Johnny Unitas, or last night's debacle with the Taron PI call and 12 men on the field. At a minimum, the Bills should be 7-3, maybe 8-2 despite Josh's turnovers.

I'd argue that Rice is having a better year than Gabe. And Mahomes stats are a little worse than Josh's this year x/c for INTs. For someone that has regressed, his stats certainly don't make that obvious other than the INTs.

Both Mahomes & Burrow have alternatives - Josh has Diggs.

True, but most games are won if the offense scores 37+ points and we would have won all of the lost games scoring 30+.

Not sure why folks think the year is shot ? 10-7 should get them in - Miami got in last year @ 9-8. This team is still the team that blew out the Raiders, Commanders & Dolphins minus a little confidence. That team can beat anyone in the league and we've lost 5 games by a grand total of 23 points. Hopefully Brady can get the offense back to that mindset and the Bills go on a roll.
