  1. Sammy Watkins is f ing Crazy!!! For real.
  2. I think our big ticket free agency is over with Von Miller. I don't even want to let myself dream about lining up Woods next to Diggs across from Davis. Robert Woods is the one Bill I wish we hadn't let get away.
  3. Rodgers doesn't need Adams. For $50 million he's going to throw the ball to himself.
  4. The AFCW is officially Bonkers!
  5. The AFCW is officially Bonkers!
  6. I think it's a generational thing. I'm not a Boomer but close, I'm a Gen Xer and for some young people, things don't happen, things aren't real until they are posted on social media. The term "Facebook Official" comes to mind about dating. For Baker the idea of not commenting on something like this on social media is anathema. Kind of like Cole with his COVID stance on Twitter. I personally feel no need to share details of my life with strangers on the internet. I'm not saying one view is right and one is wrong, it's just one of the big differences between generations where one grew up with rotary dial phones and one grew up cutting their teeth on iPhones.
  7. Cole Beasley was a fantastic Buffalo Bill and there is no way our team is better without him. I understand it's a business and there's only so much money to go around. I wish him success wherever he goes. Thanks Cole for being a part of turning this dysfunctional franchise around.
  8. Any given year there are a handful of teams that have the talent to win a championship, and the Bills are one of them. To win the Super Bowl you need to have talent on the roster and a good bit of luck. Who is healthy come playoff time, who gets the pass interference call from the refs, does that tipped pass hit the turf or fall into a DB's hands, who wins the coin toss? There's not much you can do about the luck factor, but it's up to Beane and company to take care of the first part, the talent on the roster. Heading into this offseason and being strapped for cap space, I was hoping first and foremost not to take a step backwards on the roster. I was hoping Beane would find a way to replace the talent that was going to inevitably leave in free agency. We don't have a lot of cap space because Beane has already put together a championship level roster. It's the Jets of the league, the rebuilding teams with limited talent on the roster, that are flush with cash and can go shopping in free agency. For teams like the Bills, the goal is to maintain their talent level and hopefully add a piece here or there that may give them a slight edge for when the playoffs start. Losing our CB2 and Beasley is tough but I think on the whole we have at least held the line with the talent on the roster and have made some improvements. Obviously Von Miller is big but also shoring up our run defense with two big DTs was a nice move. Williams for Saffold is probably no worse than a push and is probably an upgrade for the O-Line. Putting OJ Howard out there gives the defense one more thing to worry about. Ultimately, if we can address the CB position before the start of the season, the Bills should be able to return a team that has not taken a big step backwards and that is great news. We are a franchise that is clearly "in the window" right now and so far I think Beane is making the moves needed to keep us there.
  9. I actually watched a lot of McKissic last season because I had drafted Antonio Gibson in my fantasy football league as my #2 RB. Most games I just yelled at the tv screen because McKissic was on the field all the damn time and Gibson was holding his helmet on the sideline. McKissic has game and this signing adds an element to the offense and also mitigates some of what we lose with Beasley going. I think this was another smart, low key Beane signing that is going to age very well as the season goes on.
  10. Thanks for posting. It's hard to beat YOLO. We've all tried and failed. 🙂
  11. They better move him now with all of this in the media. I don't think Baker has the emotional maturity to deal with this kind of situation. It's going to be a rough year for the Browns if he is still under center for them this season.
  12. https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/football/nfl/teams/cle/cleveland-browns ESPN's Dan Graziano reports that the Browns are "doing due diligence" on potentially available veteran quarterbacks. "I heard lots of rumblings in the latter part of this week about Cleveland making a trade for a quarterback and possibly shipping out Mayfield," Graziano writes. The Browns have been regarded as a "wild card" entry to the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes, and while they have committed to Baker Mayfield publicly, a "big fish" could reportedly change that. This article cautions that Mayfield is still the favorite to start for the Browns in 2022, but his hold on the job appears to be tenuous. Apparently not set in stone that Baker returns as the starter. This rumor will surely not sit well with Baker and I'm sure he'll be unable to resist responding to it. Hopefully this will get interesting...
  13. His obituary fifty years from now should start, “Army Ranger and combat veteran Alejandro Villanueva, who also played some football in the NFL….” Hope he has a great retirement, he has surely earned it.
  14. If Cousins gets $40-45 a year, how much is Lamar Jackson going to ask for? It's going to be impossible for Baltimore to offer Jackson less than Cousins is making. I hope Cousins gets $45 a year to really put the Ravens in a box.
  15. Stafford is the highest paid player in NFL history. He was one of the lucky QBs to get the big rookie contract before the new CBA capped rookie wages in 2011. He has made $239 million so far. Now he is queued up to make another $100+. Not bad work if you can get it.
  16. The QB contract inflation continues... Here's a blurb about Stafford that mentions Cousins; https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/football/nfl/player/2679/matthew-stafford Here's a link to an article about the Cousin's negotiations; https://www.marca.com/en/nfl/minnesota-vikings/2022/03/05/6222ba8246163f53b78b456f.html It is expected to be a 3-4 year deal for Stafford. Makes Josh's 6 year extension at an average of $42 million a year look better every day. I think this is going to be a recurring theme as more and more QBs take their turn at the NFL QB money trough.
  17. 2021 Beasley 112 targets, 82 catches Cupp 191 targets, 145 catches I don't think Beasley is as good as Cupp either, but if you put Beasley on an offense and make an effort to get him the ball every game he will easily have 100+ catches out of the slot. We had entire games where Beasley wasn't a part of the game plan at all. I still think Beasley has a few really good seasons left in him. I hate that he's leaving but understand the business side of it too. I wish him well.
  18. I don't understand people saying teams will balk at Beasley's contract. $7 million for a top three slot receiver who is still fully capable of 100 catches in a season??? If he were the focus of the offense like Cupp was this year he could have had 120 catches. I hate that he's leaving. I think his off the field issues are coloring some people's opinions of his on the field ability. Having said that, we're negative $2 million in cap space right now. Beane needs to clear some cap and there aren't that many places to do that. I think Beane is happy with Diggs, Davis, and Knox. Beane might also think that Josh is the kind of QB who will elevate whoever is out there running routes for him.
  19. Lol! Don't want to sell our Bills short! You're right, I missed a pick. #183 is from the Panthers. #202 is our original 6th rounder.
  20. The Jets are not in the QB sweepstakes this year either. They might be able to trade back further into the 1st round and pick up some more quality picks. I know that the QB class is not supposed to be great this year, but as the draft gets closer the QBs will start moving up the board with all the pre-draft hype.
  21. Just some reference numbers on the AFCE going into the off season in one place. The cap space thing remains a mystery to me as teams always seem to be able to make moves whether they have cap space or not. The draft picks below do not include compensatory picks, Cap Space; Phins; $66 million; 1st in NFL Jets; $44 million; 5th in NFL Pats; $7 million; 21st in NFL Bills: - $2 million; 25th in NFL Draft Picks; Phins; 1st, #29 2nd, #50 3rd, #101 4th, #119, #123 5th, #157 6th, #199 7th, #222 Jets; 1st, #4, #10 2nd, #35, #38 3rd, #69 4th, #109, #115 5th, #145, #162 Pats; 1st, #21 2nd, #54 3rd, #85 4th, #125 6th, #209 Bills; 1st, #25 2nd, #57 3rd, #89 4th, #128 5th, #167 6th, #183, #202 7th, #229, #244
  22. We have been wanting a top echelon TE in Buffalo for years. Remember the Charles Clay Experiment? Now we have one of the best young TEs in the AFC who probably hasn't reached his ceiling yet. The Bills need to make the investment to keep him around. Looking at Beane's modus operandi with previous extensions, I would expect that extension will happen sooner rather than later. The longer you wait, the more you pay.
  23. Sometimes it's fun to go back in time to revisit draft day 2018. We all hoped Allen would be good but I don't think even the most optimistic saw how good he would become. Whether he is the best QB in the NFL or not, he is certainly in the conversation. That is no small thing. Just for fun, here is the draft day thread;
  24. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2022-nfl-mock-draft-cardinals-trade-kyler-murray-after-social-media-statement-pickett-vaults-into-top-10/ https://dawgpounddaily.com/2022/02/11/cleveland-browns-kyler-murray/ Trade Baker and a 1st rounder to the Cards for Murray? It's going to be a very interesting off season.
  25. Agree. I think people are undervaluing the fact that Josh agreed to a six year extension on the tail end of his rookie deal. Going forward, I suspect most QBs won't be willing to sign a contract extension longer than 4 years because of their desire to get another quick bite of an ever growing apple. Josh didn't cut the Bills any slack with the annual average amount of his contract, it was a market value contract. Where he helped the Bills was with the length of the contract.
