  1. The expression "Penny wise and pound foolish" comes to mind. I love my Buffalo Bills but I hate the NFL.
  2. The Aaron Jones shoulder shiv that sent him flying was one thing, but the hit Phillips laid on that poor Green Bay tight end looked like something out of an Incredible Hulk movie. I was half expecting to see the outline of the tight end's body in the turf. To the guys credit he did get up by himself and was able to get off the field on his own. Phillips was bringing the pain last night. His energy is a huge factor in the Bills' D-Line success this year.
  3. It's between Mills in Houston and Wilson for worst starting NFL QB. I think Wilson has more natural ability than Mills but might not be able to handle the mental side of the game which is what ultimately separates the pretenders from the real NFL QBs. The Jets will be back in the QB sweepstakes again next year with a pick around 8-10 and outside the sweet spot for a franchise QB and needing to spend more valuable draft capital to get up into the top of the draft. The question now is does Wilson take JD down with him? The most important thing a GM does is draft and develop a QB and JD has not done a very good job of that.
  4. Definitely a favorable schedule to finish the regular season. These first 7 games were definitely the toughest stretch of the season and the Bills are sitting with 1 loss at the end of it. Of the tough games you mentioned I think you can eliminate the Dolphins from the mix. I think you're going to see a Bills team playing at home with their ears pinned back looking for some payback for the Heat Stroke Bowl in Week 3. I think the Bills are going to run them for 4 all quarters and establish definitively who the King of the AFCE really is.
  5. It's more than just having the best record in the AFC, it's the manner in which the Bills are beating their opponents compared to the rest of the Conference. If you look at the AFC teams with at least 4 wins it's pretty amazing what the point differentials are for those squads compared to the Bills. It's even more impressive when you remember that Allen has sat for two 4th quarters so far this season. Record Point Differential Bills 6-1 +108 Titan s 5-2 -8 Chiefs 5-2 +51 Ravens 5-3 +25 Jets 5-3 +17 Dolphins 5-3 -14 Chargers 4-3 -25 Bengals 4-3 +41 Patriots 4-4 +14 And just for comparisons sake, here are the top teams in the NFC and their point differentials. Eagles 7-0 +78 Vikings 6-1 +29 Cowboys 6-2 +50 Giants 6-2 +6 49ers 4-4 +29 The Bills have arguably the best offense AND defense in the NFL this season. I think this defense is going to get even better when Tre White comes back. As a Bills fan in his 50's, I think this is the most complete and deep Bills team I've ever seen.
  6. I hadn't seen it before. I like it better than what was released yesterday...
  7. https://nypost.com/2022/10/25/hochuls-giveaway-to-bills-owning-florida-billionaire-now-looks-even-worse/ Article in the NY Post throwing shade at the arrangement between the Pegulas and New York state, and most importantly... a different and more detailed stadium picture. If you hit the link to the article there is a button to magnify the stadium drawing. I think the stadium looks a lot better in this rendering than the images released yesterday.
  8. It's a newer football stadium without any frills. Looking at Nashville's proposed stadium shows what is possible, looking at ours shows what's acceptable. Realistically, there's no reason to build an architecturally interesting building that is going to be an anchor or hub of a neighborhood sitting in the middle of nowhere in Orchard Park. If it was built in downtown Buffalo it would have made more sense to make it something more than just a generic football stadium. Which is what this is. Ultimately, it's about the football team playing inside.
  9. My name is taken from a character in a famous movie called "Titanic". My character is a Spanish swashbuckler played by Leonardo DiCaprio who is searching for a six fingered man onboard an ocean liner only to fall in love with some rich chick instead. It's your classic, boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, girl lets boy drown in the frozen north Atlantic story we've all seen a hundred times before. Rather formulaic but worth a rental during a long bye week without football.
  10. These 4th quarters on the bench may be what keeps Allen from it. I suspect he will end up sitting for at least six quarters worth of football this regular season, which if my abacus is correct, equals a game and a half of offensive production that comes off JA's total.
  11. For years Penn State was Linebacker U. The Bills are becoming Defensive Back U. They are able to take midround and late round defensive backs and even UDFAs and coach them up to become legitimate NFL players. Both Frazier and McDermott were defensive backs and that insight seems to give them an eye for talent and they know how to coach them up once they bring them in. Our secondary should be a strength for years to come with Tre, Taron, Elam, Hyde, and Benford all locked down.
  12. That could have been a pivotal moment in the game. It should have been 10 yards and an automatic 1st down for the Bills. Instead the Bills punt the ball back to the Chiefs. There were two refs in the backfield watching the play happen. You can see the refs arm in the picture staring at Jones and Allen as it happens. He can't be more than ten feet away from the play. I just don't know how that doesn't get called.
  13. There are a few things that we haven't seen a lot of so far in Ken Dorsey's offense and I wonder if he is still just developing his playbook, or if he has deliberately kept some things close to the vest for this game versus the Chiefs this week so he can put some looks on the field that the Chiefs defense might be less prepared for. Some of the things that we haven't seen a lot of, or any or this year on offense are; Pre snap motion Jet Sweeps Empty backfield sets Singletary and Cooks behind / flanking Allen Frequent screen passes Going empty backfield and spreading out (pick your favorite five) Diggs / Davis / Shakir / McKenzie / Singletary / Knox would be a nightmare for a defense to cover. Shakir or McKenzie rocketing back into the backfield in motion and faking the pitch or actually taking the pitch from Allen with a full head of steam. Moving Diggs all over the field before the snap to expose the defense and cause miss matches. These are some of the things I hope we see more of on Sunday
  14. Sam Martin was previously know as Sammy "The Hammer" Giordano. He turned State's evidence on the mob and was placed into the Federal Witness Protection Program. The U.S. Marshals thought being the Buffalo Bills punter was the best place to keep him out of sight.
  15. This is a big game for the Bills. The Head-to-Head tie break might very well decide if the road to the Super Bowl goes through Orchard Park or Arrowhead. Don't think the Bills front office doesn't know it. I wonder if the Bills / Dorsey have been keeping a lot of their dynamic plays close to the vest so far like jet sweeps, pre-snap motion, and heavy involvement of the TEs in the game under wraps for maximum effect this week. I sure hope so. NFL Tiebreaker Rules for Division Titles 1. Head-to-head record 2. Record against divisional opponents 3. Record against all common opponents 4. Record against conference opponents 5. Strength of victory (combined record of defeated opponents) 6. Strength of schedule (combined record of all opponents) 7. Combined rankings in points scored and points allowed among conference teams 8. Combined rankings in points scored and points allowed among all teams 9. Scoring differential against common opponents 10. Scoring differential against all opponents 11. Touchdown differential against all opponents 12. Coin toss
  16. We've also had the starting offense sitting on the bench for the entire 4th quarter in 2 of the 5 games so far.
  17. Never saw this angle before. Watch how close Evil Kneivel was to landing the jump here!
  18. You're right, it was, but the Ravens were trying to let Allen score so they could get the ball back with enough time on the clock to do something. Allen just fell forward past the line of gain and got a fresh set of downs to run the clock out with.
  19. Allen is almost impossible to stop on short yardage when he rolls out. I think Dorsey has been trying to get the backs involved in short yardage, and Moss seemed to do well with it in the preseason, but during the regular season the backs are getting stoned in the backfield. The O-line is just not getting any push at all and we are more likely to lose a yard than gain one when the backs get the handoff. It was 4th and 1 at the Ravens 26 yard line yesterday. Josh rolled out to his left and there were defenders there prepared for the roll out and it looked like he might get tackled for a loss. Josh did some of his shifty Elvis hips stuff and managed to cut the ball up avoiding the defenders and got 4 yards and the 1st down. Josh is way to big to be as slippery as he is running the ball. Even if a defender gets his hands on Josh he can usually bull forward and drag the defender for a yard or two. Allen's speed, agility, and strength make him very hard to bring down when he gets a head of steam moving along the line of scrimmage and then decides to cut it up. These Allen roll outs were the most successful method for the team to convert short yardage last season, and despite Dorsey's best efforts, were in the same boat again this year. It's not optimal to have our QB be the short yardage back too, but when the Bills really need to move the ball a yard, rolling Allen out is the best option.
  20. What we know This is the first week that Tre is eligible to come off of short term PUP list and start to practice with the team. From the time Tre comes off PUP and starts to practice, the Bills will have 21 days to activate him to the regular roster or he will have to be placed on season ending IR. McDermott was asked yesterday about Tre's status and he essentially gave no answer except that Tre continues to work to get back. What we suspect Even if Tre is 100% right now I would be shocked for him to lace it up against the Steelers this week due to the matchup. The Bills secondary should be able to hold up against the Steeler's offense without Tre in there this week. The big question is, will they play him the following week vs the Chiefs in Arrowhead. It would obviously be a big boost to have him back on the field for that pivotal matchup with plenty of playoff seeding consequences for the Bills. If the Bills don't play him in Week 6 versus the Chiefs, Tre will then have an additional week to rehab with the bye week in Week 7 and will have to be activated before the Week 8 tilt on Sunday night against the Packers at home. This might have been the plan all along. When he comes back he will likely be on a snap count and alternating time with Elam and Jackson as he plays back into form.
  21. It's funny that we lost the one game out of four that we all penciled in as a win when the schedule came out. It was the other games, the Rams, Titans, and Ravens that we were worried about.
  22. "Don't make me pull this car over!"
  23. All fair points Thurman. That Ravens' defense was the best defense I have ever seen play (I'm in my early 50's). I think the game has changed over the last 22 years. The quarterback can't be touched today. Neither can the wide receivers. No defense will ever put up numbers like that again with the way the game is played now-a-days. It's hard to compare teams across different eras.
  24. 1. Thanks for calling me a dumb ass. Strong work. 2. I think this team would struggle with Keenum. I do think you could put about 20 other starting NFL QBs together with this defense and the team would be a contender.
  25. 1. I've been up all night, I work nights. 🙂 2. I'm just putting an opinion out there. I expected there would be some people who would disagree. That's ok. I'm open to having my mind changed by a good argument. I appreciate the people here who can disagree with someone without feeling the need to throw stones in the process. 3. It took me some time to look up the stats and put my post together. I didn't just throw an opinion out there with no supporting evidence. 4. This is a chat board where we all get together and chat about the Bills. Sometimes we agree, sometimes we disagree, but we all love coming here to read everyone's opinion. That doesn't happen if people don't take the time to start threads. 🍻
