Week 15: Dolphins at Bills on Saturday Night Football
Inigo Montoya replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDaniel is my least favorite coach in the NFL right now, even more so than the Hoodie because of the Tua fiasco. To see McDaniel get up in front of the cameras and pontificate that he would have never sent Tua back out onto the field if he was injured and say it all with a straight face was too much for me. "That's not what I'm about", he finished with. Apparently he and the medical team in Miami were the only ones who didn't know Tua was concussed. McDaniel put Tua back out there to win a game to protect his career and then went out in front of the media and lied about it to protect his pocket book. What a jerk. -
Jerry Sullivan crosses the line. Comments against women.
Inigo Montoya replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t like Sullivan. He tries to ask gotcha question of the players and make himself the story. It got old for me a long time ago. I also don’t think what he said was a firing offense. People who are piling on and cheering his firing better remember that it might someday be them at the end of the mob’s pitchfork because of something they say. I think people should be able to acknowledge that someone said something stupid without demanding their destruction. -

This is the last step in Josh becoming a leader. Step one is you need to come in as a young QB and be humble and show the vets on the roster that you belong and are a team first guy, not a primadonna 1st round draft pick, ala Josh Rosen. Step two is to elevate your game and work harder than anyone else in the room and set an example of excellence so you have the moral authority to lead. The last step of being a great leader is that once you have demonstrated your own excellence, to start demanding excellence from the people who follow you. That's where Josh is now in that locker room. By having Beane bring in Brown and Beasley he is telling the guys on offense, and specifically in the WR room, that they need to elevate their performance or they are gone. Josh is friends with all of them I'm sure, but he is not going to let those relationships limit the ability of the team to win. That willingness to separate yourself from the group, your friends, and demand accountability from them is the hardest step for a leader and Josh is there. -

Imagine a guy getting upset with that group of "fans" who repeatedly denounced him as being ignorant, a cancer, and a murderer for not taking a vaccine that he had concerns about. Go figure? His problem was feeling the need to post his every waking thought on social media. I hope he can lay off that stuff going forward. -
Updated Beasley signing to practice squad
Inigo Montoya replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
They would essentially be signing him to play a 6 or 7 game season (if they make it all the way to the Super Bowl). His old legs might hold up that long, that's less than half a season. -

You may be right. There's only one way to find out. -
Updated Beasley signing to practice squad
Inigo Montoya replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's one possible explanation. Another possible explanation is that Beasley didn't want to sign with anyone else. I have no idea what is wrong with bringing him in and kicking the tires. Unless people are still having a melt down over all the vax stuff and just can't let it go, I can't think of one thing the Bills lose by bringing Beasley in and seeing if he can still contribute. Not one single thing. -

Based on what? He played two games in Tampa this season. In week 2 against Green Bay he was targeted 4 times and had 3 receptions. In week 3 against KC he was targeted once and caught it. That, to my rudimentary math skills, works out to 4 receptions on 5 targets, or a 80% completion percentage. -
100%! A good corn starch powder will help with that.

I thought 10-3 would feel better...
Inigo Montoya replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hey Biscuit, appreciate your post. I though I'd repost my original below, because I think like a game of telephone, what my post was about has morphed a bit in the last 14 pages of responses. I'm not upset we're 10-3, I'm happy were 10-3, I think it's a hell of an accomplishment that we are 10-3 and the #1 seed with everything this team has had to overcome. And despite a dozen+ posts to the contrary by different people here, I'm not upset with how the Bills are playing. My post was about how it has been a rough slog and I always thought that the Bills sitting at 10-3 would make me feel on top of the world, but the road to get there has been so difficult that I haven't enjoyed it as much as I thought I would. I didn't think that would be a controversial opinion. Silly me. 🍻 Original post: "After beating the Jets today the Bills are 10-3 and in the lead in the AFCE and sitting as the #1 seed in the AFC. If you had taken a poll here at the start of the season and asked if we would take those stats heading into week 15 of the season, I think it would be 80/20 in favor of it. Recognizing the Bills are sitting in a very good position right now, why does it feel like this has been a really rough season? Maybe it's the constant parade of injuries? The bad loses to the Phins, Jets, and Vikings? Maybe the fact that we haven't seen the Bills' offense find that gear that they ended the season in last season? Or maybe it's because the Bills have left themselves no room for error going forward if they want to win the division and the #1 seed? I'm not complaining about where the Bills are sitting at right now, I just imagined 10-3 would feel a whole lot better than it does." -

Lol! I prefer my reality unvarnished, but thanks for your concern. 🙂 -
He got folded over Milano's shoulder pads so forcefully his hands touched his toes. It was nuts. On a quasi-related note, I work in the medical field and if I saw that hit, and his reaction when he went to the ground, I would not feel comfortable letting him out of my ER without getting a CT scan of his abdomen to look at his liver. There's more to worry about with that hit than just fractured ribs or a right lung injury. I'm really surprised they let him back on the field. They have x-rays at those facilities but not CT scans. The Tua thing, now this, the NFL is really rolling the dice with these players. I hate to say it, but It's just a matter of time.

Thanks to both of you for your well reasoned and valuable contributions to the conversation. You've made 12 year old's everywhere proud. 🍻 It was nice to watch Tua fall apart last night. He was 10/28 on pass attempts, not even 40%. He couldn't hit anything. Having that game in hand vs the Phins does brighten the outlook a bit. Now the Bills just need to take care of business on Saturday. -

NFL Week #14 - Jets at Bills - Post game thread
Inigo Montoya replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seemed like those short passes right over the middle were open most of the game. Surprised we didn't focus there more. Happy to get out with the win. This is the kind of game we've frittered away before.- 658 replies

The only Vickers I've heard of is the machine gun? If we could set it up in the middle of the field in the secondary we could probably cut way down on crossing routes.

Tua leads all players in pro Bowl Voting. This can't stand.

Just when you thought ballot harvesting couldn't get any worse... -
This team can win a Super Bowl without Von if Josh can get hot like he was last year in the playoffs. Losing Von hurts, there's no putting lipstick on that pig, but the Bills are still as talented as any roster in the NFL. We have a team that can compete, now they just need to get in playoff mode and hopefully catch a break or two going forward.

This is a fantastic message board and it’s my go to place for all my Bills breaking news. Some of the regular posters here have as good of a perspective on the Bills as many of the media types that do it for a living. That being said, this place turns into a suicide cult after every loss and there are a fair number of trolls who come here to stir the pot. I’m not sure how any long term Bills fan can look at the totality of what McDermott has done for this franchise and not be incredibly grateful that he is our coach. Does he deserve criticism for bad moves? Absolutely. Should he be immune to accountability? Absolutely not. But, anyone on this board saying he’s a bad coach or we should move on from him is either a fool or a troll.

From draft night where most of TBD needed to be put on suicide watch to where we are now is simply amazing. We caught lightning in a bottle with Josh. As a survivor of the entire Drought I'm really trying to appreciate this time when the Bills are relevant. We won't have Josh forever, we need to enjoy it while we do.
