Draft Josh Allen... 2019
formerlyofCtown replied to MakeBuffaloGreatAgain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get what youre saying but, I dont completely agree. I dont believe anyone on this board would not have traded a second round pick for McCoy. Darby was a steal where he was drafted and at the time that was the correct pick. Ragland and Washington were no longer scheme fits. And if Shaq keeps trending up we may be glad we have that 5th year option. i'll take BPA every time. That doesnt mean I wont move around the draft board to try and make that fill a position of need. Which is along the lines of how McBeane works. After all Maybin was a need pick. Watkins we gave up too much because he has a glass foot he was also a need pick. Goodwin would have been a great pick if we could have put HGH in his Gator Aid and got him banned from the Olympics. Once again give me BPA every time. Especially since we have a stable Regime. -

Not so fun fact-QB 3000 Yd Passing seasons
formerlyofCtown replied to BobbyC81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
F the media. Championships are the result of Team play and coaching. I dont give credit to the HOF in any sport, especially baseball because the only thing that should matter is individual accomplishments on the field of play. Specifically how can you accept anything as legitimate when the greatest hitter of all-time is not in the hall of fame. The dumbest and most dishonest people in society may very well be in the media. -

Youll notice the only QB on that list that is not from the Everything benefits the passing game era and he isnt toward the bottom. That is one of the reasons I say Dan Marino is the GOAT and it is possible that an actual goat may have been better than some of the WRs and RBs he had at his disposal. -

I wonder how many times Kelly does it if he played in this Era. If you want to see impressive, compare Dan Marino to his peers. Brees is quit impressive compared to his peers as well. -
Dont think I said teams win championships with bad statistics now did I and why dont you take a look at the all sacred completion percentage of their QB as the context of this whole confersation is Josh Allen or how about we look at their RBs yards per carry as we are talking about individual statistics and not team statistics. Sorry if I didnt make that clear.

Foster, McKenzie and Jones
formerlyofCtown replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still see some people talking about Foster having to compete and Jones fighting for his roster spot. Foster will be on the field for almost every offensive snap next season and The Bills are pleased with Zays progress even if some fans are not. That all being said if the opportunity to upgrade the number 1 WR comes up and it makes sense as a fit they will do it. The primary focus this off-season will be on the Oline. I actually believe they will draft a WR for competition and depth but Foster seems to be developing into the complete package. He isnt just running deep as some posters seem to think. Hes actually running some complex routes. He isnt just a run as fast as you can and get behind the D guy. It would be great to have 2 #1s though. -
2019 Renewed Optimism - for real this time
formerlyofCtown replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would say Bledsoe was. Unfortunately he was not very mobile and our Oline was worse than awful. Mike Williams was supposed to protect his blindside. The thing with those teams is you could watch it trending downward. This current team we see improving every week. I believe this team has players that will continue to improve in the offseason. They have the right attitude, I truely hope and believe Zay has turned the corner and that will be where his focus is. If he wants to work out in the nude thats fine as long as he does it behind closed doors. I also belive we have a front office will truely draft the BPA, there decisions are not based off stata alone. I believe they keep focus on wether they will fit the culture and other factors. I believe they will spend wisely in FA. I also believe we have a staff that can cultivate talent and motivate players. They seem to be able to push the correct buttons and although they are patient they are not afraid to send a player packing. -
Statistics win MVP, ROY and things of that nature. They dont win Championships. For example you could argue that the Lions out played us statistically but who got the W. However, I forgot Allen was suppose to win the MVP this season. Ive seen some pretty bad drops this season but what is really important is making adjustments week to week as you could see he was throwing with touch a little more this week. If you havent already done so with your prescious stats why dont you take a look at Peyton Mannings Rookie stats. Goff didnt look so pretty either. Its the growth thats important with a young QB. Rodgers took a while to develope as did Brees. If you get the stats to appear early then great. Baker Mayfield was the first QB taken for a reason He was ready to roll and had a pretty high ceiling. The rest were not quite ready to roll. Allen had the highest ceiling and it looks like he may get there. You see thats what those non-statistics called intangables say. They say wether a person will meet their potential. Tom Brady was a sixth round draft pick for a reason but he is an example of someone that completely maxed out his potential. I really think we got Tom Brady with a John Elway type of ceiling. I really believe that is what the former QBs see in him that the regular media and dumber former football players dont. Ive been part of a locker Room Ive played football. There is more emotion and passion in football than any other sport and that is why analitics will never be 100% effective in the NFL. The intangables will always be important. Any given Sunday has to do with heart and shear will. If the stats guys dont think it has a lot to do with an NFL career I got news for them.

Greatest of his generation where the rules benefit passing production. He doesnt accomplish any of it in the 70s, 80s or 90s if he played in those time periods. But Elway, Montana, Marino and Kelly. They would have put up disgusting stats in the modern NFL. -

Will we be as cocky and arrogant as NE fans if he does become the next HOF QB.
