Jarvis Landry says Tyrod Taylor looks "amazing"
Tyrod's friend replied to greenyellowred's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You do remember that Tyrod sustained a leg injury early in that game, right? And he just rubbed some dirt on it, manned up, and played on. But can we be real here for a minute? Bortles was playing against a damned soft defense - one of the worst defenses in football against the run. TT was up against an incredible unit, with two great shutdown corners covering our bull **** WRs. No, he didn't play well. But these comps to Bortles are ridiculous. -
Sorry to "wear you down". Blogs can be like that some time, but don't take them too seriously or you'll find other posters making comments about the quantity of sand in your panties. To answer your question, I never fail to own up to my words. No matter what. Hence, my username doesn't pull any punches. And when I said that Baker would go 1 overall, I was unequivocal then too and people shouted me down. I'm feeling pretty good about my prediction on turnovers. Pretty good indeed; I'd feel better if this team would let Josh Allen start day 1, but Nate Peterman might just do the trick. Turnovers ... you know the funny thing about those turnovers. Makes life pretty hard on a defense - especially any defense that has a little age. Yeah. I feel pretty good across the board. Tell you what, I'll bet I'm damned close.

I'm pretty sure I was the first one calling for BM to be drafted #1 overall - certainly the most persistent. Shocker! He's not able to take away the job from a starting, NFL QB that has been to a Pro Bowl, and led his team to the playoffs for the first time in more than a decade. Completely not concerned and happy to hear it. Baker will start, and in 2019 he'll be named started to a team that went to the playoffs the year before. And Buffalo fans will squirm, all year long while this post-Taylor iteration of the Bills leads in the NFL in turnovers and points allowed. Meanwhile, Josh very likely will get rushed to become a starter for a team without wide receivers, a quality offensive line and ... by the time they turn over the keys to him this year ... a shell-shocked offensive unit used to turning over the ball so much it just snowballs.

Since the only time I bring him up is when he is attacked without cause, I fail to see how this is true. It seems to me that fans like to make him the cause of all the pain in their lives and I take some pleasure in showing them to be wrong. Have a good one. No problem! Given the depth of your posts and the thought you take in making them, I can surely see that you intellectually quite gifted.

And I care about your feelings how exactly? You can revisit it anytime. I've checked your comments and you add nothing to any thread. As I say, I'll be here all year long.

Yeah, sorry, but you know what? I'm not a Browns fan; I'm a Bills fan. And to be honest, I'm not a Tyrod fan. But the truth is the truth and throughout this thread nobody is arguing with me other than to blather. The guy was good for us from 2015 to 2016. Period. He'll be good someplace else. I think that's a fair assessment of what I'm saying. You aren't worth it.

No, I understood. Giving props is something I do for people that are witty, or at the least make a good comment to move along a conversation. You'll notice that I've never giving props to someone like you. Now that, that is an insult.

I'll be with you all year. And I tell you what ... I promise, my username will remain just as it is. What's the over/under on the number of articles SI or ESPN runs on the importance of turnovers, and won/loss records of the Bills and Browns? I'm guessing Buffalo fans get sick of it ... oh, right around Week 10. Cheers.:)

I'm not here to make excuses. But so I get this right ... it's a Taylor-led offense when he's playing with an injury and Shady McCoy is getting 50 yards on 18 carries (other than his single play), but the ONLY reason we were able to have a damned good offense for 2015 and 2016 is because McCoy got 900 yards in 2015 and was arguably the third best running back in the AFCE in 2016. I just want to make sure I get this all right in my mind. thanks.

Offense was 12th and then 10th in the NFL. Unfortunately the defense was at best middle of the pack. Taylor only plays offense. But the defense surely looked a whole lot better than the statistics showed, since the team didn't have nearly the turnovers they would have with any other QB in the NFL. I'm sorry but that's the fact. Turnovers = points, and Taylor's effectiveness as a QB plus his lack of turnovers made him a pretty good QB in those two years. It certainly wasn't Shady McCoy's staggering 900 yards of rushing in 2015, that's for damn sure. But I can' t argue. The record was what the record was. We'll see how that record looks this year without him. As a Bills fan I'm hoping we do a whole lot better but as I listen to the head coach, I think that's a dream. yeah, I'm sure that will be the excuse. It was all on the offensive line. Where have I heard that before? This team isn't good and the best player we drafted isn't here to help in 2018, and because we drafted him we have even less help for next year. Again, I'll put what the Browns will have on the field, in the offensive line, at WR/TE, at RB, and in their defense, against what the Bills will put on the field. Add a QB that isn't a turnover machine. We disagree and I'll leave it at that. Cheers.

This is too easy. First, how many QBs have success at his age? Is that where you want to take this??? Not to mention, there is a little thing that is different between being a QB and being a RB. C'mon. Finally .. unwillingness to throw deep??? Are you out of fool mind? Between 2015 and 16 the guy was one of the best deep balls in the NFL. Go back to that highlight reel from the OP. You stop throwing deep when you stop having wide receivers that get open deep. And the Indy game? The last rattle, friend. It's a party of one and nothing any Bills fan is going to day that really makes that different. Number of successful running backs that pass the age of 30 with more than 2300 attempts. One. Calendar ain't your friend and ultimately, if Shady McCoy had any value this front office (that jettisoned every other expensive veteran on the squat) would have done the same with him. You might not like it, but I'm just speaking the truth. Here's what I got ... we didn't pay anything to get our QB for the last three years. We got at least one PB performance out of him. We never paid him jack for his work here. We got a 3rd rounder out of him on the way out. And for McCoy, we gave up what wound up to be nothing in the NFL in Kiko. I'm good with all that.

Not directed at Shady (hey, all in good fun bud) but for any Buffalo Bills fan: Come up with any two year run like Tyrod Taylor had from 2015 to 2016 where the team scored 379 and 399 points. Good luck with that.
-
Couldn't agree more. He had his chance with us, did what he could with it, got hamstrung some by the situation but that was up to him to elevate. 22-20 is what it is and you can't change that. Keep using that back view mirror. Just keep looking backward, don't mind that the number of running backs that have had successful careers after 30 with more than 2200 rushing attempts is a party of 1 - Frank Gore. Calendar. Ain't your friend.
-
Talk about cherry picking ... yeah. 94 QB rating. 12 YPA. Least turnovers. One of the most productive rushing QBs. Offense that scored 390 points a season until Dennison showed up. I don't have to pick out single games to do it; that's a composite over two years. Let me see ... which of these two is "cherry picking"? Selecting single games, or looking at a two year stretch? Age, bud. He might have helped the team, but the Buffalo Bills picked the wrong veteran to jettison out of that backfield. Think I'm wrong? Tell me how many teams would have chomped at the bit to pick up Shady's contract at any price? NONE. NONE AT ALL. He's worthless right now. Worthless. Because a big contract and a slowing step and age in a running back is not an attractive look. Calendar ain't your friend.
-
LMAO. Lousy defense? LMAO, ok sure. Really. Gordon, Landry, Njoko? Tell you what, I'll put those three up against what Buffalo will put on the field. Chubb and Hyde in the backfield? Our offensive line took three steps back. I guess we'll see but I think you are way off the course on that one.
-
Once again ... nearly 12 yards per attempt over a two year span. Sorry dude, but you're flat out wrong. Team most likely to regress in 2018: the Buffalo Bills. Team most likely to improve: Cleveland Browns. Not going anywhere. Player most likely to fall off the cliff this year: Shady McCoy.
-
What part of ATTEMPTS PER GAME are you unable to understand? Between 2015 and 2016 he attempted 816 passes in 29 games. It amounted to 28 passes per game.
-
I couldn't agree with you more. He averaged 7.7 aypa and nearly 12 ypc completion with the fewest turnovers in the NFL. I think if you are believing he could be more than that you are insane. He'd be in the Matt Stafford area to be better than that.
-
I think you'll find that if you adjust this for attempts per game you'll be a bit off. But regardless, does it make that much difference?
-
He did as he was commanded to do. Ran an offense that averaged 390 points from 2015-2016, and didn't turn the ball over in order to do it. It's a recipe for success - no matter who scores the touchdowns. You know ... since it's a team game. Should be fun to watch this team without him in 2018. I'm sure we'll score a whole bunch more points and be a lot more effective without him. LMAO. Even the head coach told you this team isn't a playoff team - no where near it. But this QB took you to a 22-20 record, helped you to find a way to the playoffs and you're glad to see him leave. I'll have a good laugh at you, all year long. Tyrod will lead the most improved team throughout the year, and the Bills will be the team that regresses the most.
-
There, I corrected it for you. No, I'm saying he did his job as directed as by the organization and stayed within it. Turning the ball over, with the defense we had in 2015 and 2016 would have led to an embarrassing result. By the way, get back to me with that 60 second tape of all the turnovers he created in three years. And please, by all means, go ahead and tell me how many QBs generated so much more offense on so few attempts. Yard per completion and Yards Per Attempt by Tyrod Taylor were roughly in line with a top ten offense over the years 2015 and 2016. I guess that isn't good enough for you. Move on.
