PanchoBilla enters Hospice (Has now passed away)
RocCityRoller replied to mead107's topic in Off the Wall Archives
$39 to Panchos's pack. $1 for each year... it felt right. I saw somewhere Pancho wanted school supplies donated in his name instead of flowers. https://www.wivb.com/news/local-news/donations-for-backpacks-filled-with-school-supplies-being-accepted-in-pancho-billa-s-name/2004378102 It's the best way I felt I could honor him -

We never met but I feel like I lost a family member. I hope we hear some 'Viva Los Bills' chants break out on opening weekend in tribute RIP Ezra, my thoughts are in El Paso with the Castro family tonight -
does any team still use DE who mainly set edge?
RocCityRoller replied to Orlando Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is why I wanted one of the available DEs in round 3. 4-3 DE looks terrible in next year's draft and FA -
This time last year

I was I think they did really well improving this team overall. They did hit FA hard at OL and WR. I know, I know John Smokey Brown and Cole Beasley aren't AB, but they are two productive NFL WRs with different skill sets and none of the headache of AB. Buff has 2 deep WRs with good hands (Brown and Foster) no S cheating up on the line if Foster and Brown line up outside. That helps the RB and underneath guys like slot WR and TE. Beasley is a nice slot guy and I see a lot of 3 WR sets for Buffalo, with Zay being a top backup all along the WR position. Big improvement. OL they added what 5-6 FAs, didn't overspend to retain 'meh' guys in Miller or Mills. I wish Miller well, maybe a change of scenery will help him. Made a splash at C with Mitch Morse, where it was needed. He will call out protections and is terrific as a PB and make the other OL better. I think Groy was not good at calling protections. Bodine as a backup C is fine with me. Plenty of options at OT and OG now, and guys with different strengths aside from Morse. A lot if the FA OL were a touch long in the tooth so Buf doubled down with Ford who can be a RT or LG in this league at a pro bowl level for years to come. It's not 'splash', but I'm willing to bet 3-5 yrs out Buffalo's investment in OL and WR pay off better than NYJ in Bell or OAK investment in AB. -

Ed gets it, he's already got it. I can't wait for him to get it on Sundays. He and JA will be the faces of the franchise for the next 10 years. Buffalo is in good hands. Edit: Good luck Ezra, I have a family member in hospice now. It's difficult and not an exact science. 9 months in and she is doing 'well' I wish Ezra and his family well. Circling my wagon for you Ezra, thankful Ed took time to visit. -
The most encouraging rookie camp observation that I saw
RocCityRoller replied to TigerJ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
putting Josh Allen in a position to succeed or fail will determine if Beane is a success or failure. He went way beyond expectations given his situation last year. I'm not worried about JA, I want the team around him better. Ha made Zay Jones and Robert Foster start to look legitimate in the last 6 games of the season. Improve the OL, add WRs see what happens. -

Imagine JA with an effective running game. Last year's rush offense may have been the worst rushing Bills offense, outside of QB, that I've ever seen. Mitch Morse calling protections has to be an improvement over Groy (terrible) and Bodine (bad), and it is often overlooked. Wood and Hull were generally good at this. -
I may have been all for Buffalo picking him up to #### block Miami and New England, but rounds 1-2 went just fine.

Nice to hear, still think Josh Rosen was a smart pick up for the Dolphins.

best I've felt about a 1st round pick in a long long time

Do you see Tyree Jackson on the PS? What I like about T Jax is that he is a poor mans Josh Allen. Similar build, skill set, athleticism, strengths and weaknesses . I was pretty obvious in my desire to see Buffalo grab him from the 6th round on. I'm happy Buffalo got him for those reasons. As a non-starter, with similar skills, he seems a great project backup that allows Daboll to keep most of a Josh Allen offense in place if T Jax can develop into a reasonable backup. Neither DA or Barkley can offer that

70 OT, 2 OT per team 32 teams. 60-75 is a high backup, or very low starter.

I'd take a flyer on Osweiler as a camp arm and they were right

Good luck to DA

A very good player, respect the player and decision to refocus on life. It can come at you quickly. -

RD 3, Pick 74: RB Devin Singletary, Florida Atlantic
RocCityRoller replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most of the people not liking this pick, including me, have no problems with the player. I even understand wanting youth at the position. But the DE/Edge situation is bad this year and dismal next year. Hughes is 31 and in his last year - may be gone next year Lawson has not earned a 5th year option - may be gone next year Murphy does apply nice pressure, but is a lot like EJ Gaines. Good ability but lacks availability. Even Alexander a rotational edge at this point in his career is what 35-36? This was a very strong DL draft and two guys who would probably be 2nd round picks in less strong DL drafts were there for the taking. At that 3rd round pick 2 DE were available that could come in and contribute in a rotation now. (Winovich and Ferguson) Adding Ansah or Clowney fixes a lot of this, but nothing has happened on that front. Plenty of good RBs were available with the second 3rd round pick if Buffalo still wanted to move up for one, and a boat load were still available in the 4th is Buffalo doesn't move. up. I'd feel more comfortable with Shady/ Gore/ Yeldon at RB this year and a hole next year. Than Hughes/Lawson/Murphy this year and a chasm next year in a weak DL draft. When Buffalo moved back into the 3rd I thought it was to steal a DE, but Buffalo took a developmental TE instead and gave up picking anyone in the 4th for it. I was left scratching my head, as were a lot of Bills fans. agree 100% He did that against inferior competition. Even at his level a lot of guys were getting hands on him. I don't see him breaking those tackles in the NFL. -
RD 1, Pick 9: DT Ed Oliver, University of Houston

John Randle and Aaron Donald are pure comparisons. KW is close Just so you know NYC and Buffalo are worlds apart in distance and lifestyle. You have an 8hr trip or so to go from NYC to Orchard Park my friend, but welcome to the Mafia! -

Me too a lot of venom about Sills now too. All he does is get open, catch everything thrown to him and make TDs
