Would you still like JA if he was on another team?
RocCityRoller replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
If he was on another team in the AFC East I would hate the guy 😄 I have had QB envy for most of my fanhood. Didn't like Montana, Peyton Manning etc for most of their careers. I started to enjoy watching them play near the end of their careers and just take in the greatness. But I also liked guys like Favre and Young, because they were so exciting to watch. Allen is a play maker and is a really entertaining. I probably would like watching him play even if he was not on the Bills and wonder why we couldn't have a guy like that. But we do! I have friends and family who are Eagles/ Giants/ Raiders/Pats fans and they all tell me Allen is must watch football. -
He has played his @ss off. He is one of my 5 favorite current Bills. But does the fact he turns 31 tomorrow change your thinking at all? 2-3 years is locking him into 33 or 34 yr age. 30-32 is when most speed related positions start to fall off (CB/S/WR/S) I'd rather roll over the cap space for next year to help resign Gabe Davis, or Oliver, and make an expensive decision about Edmunds next year. I hope he plays here this year. I suppose he see Honey Badger and a few other vet DBs still sitting there and wants some security now. I can't blame him.

Great prospect, not a great player. Post torn Achilles and with his production we would be lucky to get Charles Clay out of OJ Howard He is a Bil now, so I hope he proves me wrong.

Happy Bates is here. I still think signing Howard was a bad move. Torn Achilles....

Gilmore to colts… Bills WERE interested
RocCityRoller replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd add Xavier Rhodes to that list (the guy Gilmore replaced). He is 31, but Buffalo really just needs a 1 yr fill in to shore things up. Has a connection with Frazier who was his HC his rookie season in Minnesota where he was 3rd CB/ Nickel. -
Agreed We can add Ezekiel Elliott, Barkley, McCaffrey, Melvin Gordon etc. The two best backs in the league (Henry and Taylor) were second round picks. Seems picks 40-50 are the sweet spot for getting better odds of finding a 'stud RB' Even then plenty of other exellent RBs taken later (Kamara, Pollard etc)

Fair enough, was not sure because of the topic. Are there any players or positions you do not want drafted in the first round?

What is your favorite football related phrase?
RocCityRoller replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
@FrenchConnection The NY Giant game plan and execution in Super Bowl XXV is text book complimentary football. The plan was to play 'keep away' from the Bills offense and run clock. The Bills had scored 95 points in their two playoff games. The Giants used a methodical short pass and run game to chew clock the entire game. They let the play clock run between plays and snaps. They did not take big shots downfield. One drive was 14 minutes long. They dared the Bills to let Thurman run, but stop the pass. This chewed more clock. TOP Giants 41, Bills 19 Score Giants 20, Bills 19 -
you do not want CB or WR in the first? It's very likely good value at OL or LB is going to fall to 25. if really going BPA that is a strong possibility.

Brady tried to engineer his way to Miami: TAMPERING!
RocCityRoller replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall
The details about minority ownership, and the impact of the Flores suit were new or confirmed info. It was all laid out in the link I provided, and has been fleshed out in the posts following. Seemed like news to me. -
Hey Gunner, just checked Over The Cap and it shows Taron Johnson is under contract through 2024. Neither 2023 or 2024 look like voidable years. His cap hits do almost double from 2022 to 2023, but he is under contract. It is true, more cap savings could be realized if Buffalo were to move on from him in 2023 and especially 2024. T Johnson will be @28 at the end of his contract. I actually like how it was structured. Maybe I am misunderstanding your point. EDIT - I saw your post follow up. I still think Johnson is a Bill through 2024. The contract is pretty reasonable for a guy playing 80%+ of defensive snaps.

The new stadium will of course come with a Seneca (Iroquois) curse against the Buffalo Bills who are ironically named after a Wild West entertainer. Heard a political hit piece on radio this morning about how the money is being spent. (Sponsored by the Seneca) I'm sure there was some interest from other places, but Hochul and this deal are getting blasted all over the country. She had to say something. The Bills Beat on the TBD landing page was full of critical story feeds the past 2-3 days. Very ugly situation. I'll leave it at that.

that sounds like a Prop Bet to me 🤣

I love RBs, my favorite position group growing up. Thurman is my favorite all time Bill (Smith is a close 2nd). I see the same types of highlight reels most non scouts watch. I know he has a fast 40 (4.39), but his game speed looks slow. I know that is probably unpopular, but I see more James Conner in him than J Taylor. I'm catching up on Walker and a few other RBs to see what they look like. Just my impression.

Brady tried to engineer his way to Miami: TAMPERING!

Yeah, it was a few pages down on my mobile browser. Profootballfocus and Cowherd confirming the story yesterday and this morning. -
Brady tried to engineer his way to Miami: TAMPERING!
RocCityRoller replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall
from his show this morning: Brady and Arians relationship was bad Brady was going to take a role with the Dolphins, as part player and part front office Sean Peyton was going to join as HC Then the Brian Flores story broke and the plans were scrapped. The Bucs saw the opportunity to bring Brady back, if Arians took a different role on the team. Can anyone else verify what Cowherd said this morning? Best Bills Games Ever (Top Five)
RocCityRoller replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
1990 had a lot of good games that forged that team. The Week 4 game versus Denver (20 points in 77 seconds), the week 5 game versus Raiders (down 24-14, exploded for 24 points in 4th quarter) and this game. I was at the Raider game. Great memory. Week 4 and 5 put the Bickering Bills in the rear view mirror and showed Buffalo could score points quickly in clusters on offense, defense and special teams. Week 16 showed they had the depth to compete and could overcome a bad game and win against a quality team IMO. -
Best Bills Games Ever (Top Five)
RocCityRoller replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
good lists of games I'll throw September 30, 1990 Buffalo 29 Denver 28 Kelly vs Elway Denver represented the AFC in the Super Bowl the year prior, Buffalo was trying to correct being the Bickering Bills in 1989. Buffalo trails Denver 21-9 entering the 4th quarter. Denver is at the Buffalo 10 yd line and about to go up 24-9, with all an Pro Kicker (Treadwell) lined up for a 24 yd field goal. Buffalo blocks the FG and goes on to score 20 points in 77 seconds over the next 5 plays. One on ST, one on DEF, one on Offense IMO that game was the spark to the beginning of the Super Bowl run and forged the resiliency the 1990s Bills show for the next 4 years. Solid summary below: -
Diggs Extended 4 more years breaking news per WGR 550
RocCityRoller replied to BillsPride12's topic in The Stadium Wall
Always reminds me of Steve Smith. Smaller guy, quicker than fast, competes every snap. Diggs is just better adjusted mentally and less of a potty mouth. Smith played at a high level into his 30's. That is my comparison.
