  4. Happy Birthday!
  5. Robinson and Renfrow
  6. Pittman, Higgins. Toss up between St. Brown and Hardman. She does, but Frelund is still my football girl crush
  7. I agree. His arm looked stronger in college. That was a bad hip injury. I think it was a year or two ago Josh Allen was working with Palmer on using his core to create more torque on his throws. It seems that kind of work would help Tua generate more zip on his passes. I wonder how much that injury threw off his mechanics, and he is trying to compensate with his arm. Being skittish about getting hit also does not help him set his feet/ platform and exposes his arm more than it should. As for the JA love nationally, we all love it. But let's not pretend that we haven't heard the same about other QBs in the league for decades and been 'that fanbase'. To wit, Nick Wright asked if this is how other fanbases felt when the sports media was gushing over Mahomes and the Chiefs for his first 2-3 seasons. One of the more insightful comments Nick Wright has ever made. I'm thankful for JA and this iteration of the Bills franchise, and try to slow my roll a bit and just take it all in and live in the moment. It's fun having the 'it guy', but I can understand how other fan bases could get turned off by the overwhelming gushing about our boys in blue. None of it means a hill of beans until the Lombardy is brought to Buffalo.
  8. Bills offense showed some flexibility in packages. We saw the Bills in the strong I formation! Bills defense needs to show some flexibility and go bigger/ 4-3 at times against the Titans/ Colts/ Ravens of the world KC has a very good OL, Bengals completely rebuilt theirs this offseason, and Miami added 2 studs to its OL to help keep Tua upright.
  9. I think Vrabel would fight dirty: pull hair, poke eyes, groin stuff!
  10. 100%. There has been a scheme fit and personnel fit variance on the OL. It's one of the few pages where the GM and coaching staff have not meshed as well as they could and it has led to some odd personnel decisions on the OL IMO. Bates and Brown are both lighter on their feet than guys like Feliciano/ Boettger and Ford. Both can pull and move. That should help with outside zone blocking concepts. This is one of the reasons I was so vocally worried about how they were handing Bates. It also makes me realize just how good Dawkins is, because he can adjust to any scheme and be a (+) blocker. Saffold is more of a mauler, but wow he is quick out of his stance. Will be interesting to see how these concepts match up with different types of defensive fronts and packages, and how much improvement we can see from the OL and other blockers as it becomes the norm.
  11. Thanks and I agree. This review and Baldy's breakdowns showed some really excellent run blocking concepts and pretty good execution. My guy Bates, and Knox have some work to do, but Bates drew Aaron Donald a lot, so tough draw. Brown and Saffold looked the part. Singletary has just enough speed to get to the holes that are being created, but he lacks the speed to exploit them, he also rarely cuts back. Moss is just a step too slow. It doesn't even have to be some all star RB to make more out of these schemes. A guy like Mike Gilislee would exploit those cut back lanes, and Karlos Williams had the direct ahead speed and processing to exploit them too. Cook is the guy on the roster that could elevate the run game and make wow plays in the run game. He has to secure the ball. I wish McDermott had gone right back to him early on and help rebuild his confidence. It's one criticism I have about McDermott. He can hold a grudge against Offensive players like no one's business. These skill guys need a chance to redeem themselves and erase a bad play. McKenzie had that opportunity, I wish Cook had too.
  12. You made my point of view even better than me. If Bills running backs are only going to get 15-20 carries a game, Motor should be getting them until: 1) Motor stops being effective. 6 YPC is effective IMO. 2) Cook shows the ability to make splash plays Motor can't, and hang onto the ball
  13. Sometimes these are blessings in disguise. Wallace leaving and White's injury forced Buffalo's hand to get younger at CB, which is a good thing cap and talent wise. The CBs (Jackson/ Elam/ Benford) will be seasoned and help acclimate the new S that will inevitably replace Poyer and Hyde in a season or two, with White and Johnson being the cagey higher priced vets. DL definitely got younger and less expensive at DE, other than the splash signing of Von Miller. Who wouldn't rather have Miller/ Rousseau/ Basham/ Epenessa/ Lawson than Hughes/ Addison/ Rousseau/ Basham/ Epenessa? Same can be said for the WR situation. Sanders disappearing after Halloween and Beasley forcing his way out made Buffalo get younger and cheaper at WR. Davis is now getting starter snaps with 2 seasons left on his rookie contract. McKenzie is getting his shot for more snaps and Shakir may be another sneaky late WR find. Crowder is a lower mid range vet insurance policy with Diggs being the higher priced vet. We are going to have to get used to the Bills losing guys who were important parts of the turnaround. As long as Beane and Co keep managing the salary and having a solid blend of picks and FA, of vets and new guys in each unit, they will be aok. I think Wallace knew he was always going to have a target on his back in Buffalo. I can't blame him for taking a 2 year contract with Pitt after getting 1 yr deals with Buffalo. He's a solid corner, but was replaceable. Same for most of the guys mentioned before.
  14. Feliciano - NYG - starting C Antonio Williams - NYG - 3rd RB Happy Williams made the 53 for the G-men. I like his running style.
  15. Believe it or not Diggs had 38 snaps (64%). Buffalo ran out of I formation and jumbo formations quite a bit!
  16. I mentioned Jones yesterday too. He was almost imoveable as the anchor. The Rams started to double him to get any push and that allowed all the other DL to have one on ones and deliver big plays. Jones and Phillips are almost opposite types of DT and that makes them complimentary. Ed Oliver is a smaller blend of both. Settle also looked solid in the second half. Lots of tools for Frazier and McDermott on the DL.
  17. With Basham (2 TAK/ 1 Sack/ 1 INT/ 1 PD) and Epenessa being productive (1 TAK/ 1 ASST/ 1.5 sacks/ 1 STUFF) it makes it easier to rotate and feel like the DL will be productive. Late in the game there was a DL package with Rosseau/ Basham/ D Jones and Epenessa and they blew up the play. Great to see the young guys improving. Miller is the cherry on top that elevates it all.
  18. I think it was Michael Irvin who said this very thing in a post game analysis. EDIT: found the clip. This was BEFORE the Rams game. Really good interview with Irvin and Von Miller. Irvin talks about Charles Haley joining the young Cowboys @4:55 mark after the Von Miller interview. I found this to be one of Irvin's best segments on TV, and aligns right with your comparison to Charles Haley.
  19. Keeping Miller fresh is a key. It also allows guys like Epenessa and Basham to get reps and continue to develop and earn time. Basham was on the field for only 26 snaps (39%). 2 TAK/ 1 Sack/ 1 INT is pretty impressive for 26 snaps...
  20. It looked to be by series and/or quarter Thursday night. Moss had a lot of the last drive in the 3rd. When the qtr ended Singletary was back in for the start of the 4th, even though the drive was still active. I wish they would just go with the hot hand and keep that RB in until the RB is gassed or the Bills score.
  21. If Ed Oliver misses any time Lawson will probably be activated. If Cook or Moss end up in the doghouse, Shakir will probably get the nod as the next active offensive player. It's a long season and guys will get their chances. Depth like this is a sweet problem to have.
  22. Keeps everyone happy and focused. I like it. Poyer has been one of the 2-3 best defenders on this team for a few years. He has earned it.
  23. I love watching film study like this. It's really well explained and helps me enjoy watching the big uglies on the OL and DL during the game. I was not a huge fan of Saffold or Gilliam. I had no idea Saffold was so fast out of his stance, very quick, like Incognito was. Gilliam is a good motion FB in blocking. Almost every big gain by a RB the past few games has Gilliam in the mix. I'm not saying he is Sam Gash, but he is a solid run blocker. Study like this also shows Dawkins is very strong and fairly nimble. Knox has some work to do in run blocking still, but I think that part of his game will be better coached now. I just wish the Bills had a faster RB who could hit those big holes a little faster. Moss is too slow to take advantage. Singletary has just enough juice to get good yards, but not really take advantage of these good blocks. Hopefully Cook gets his act together because he does have speed to take advantage of these schemes and the holes being made.
