  1. I'll wait to see how the Bills actually finish and how all of these prospects play out this year. I still think LB/ OL or WR will be our first round pick next year.

#1 seems ridiculous, I could see 5-11 or 6-10 a real possibility due to all the changes on the offensive side of the ball, but this Defense should be top 10 in most defensive rankings. A stout defense and Shady and the other RBs should eke out 5-7 wins IMO. If 5-7 wins puts you at #1 overall I'll take it in rebuild year #2.

  2. Too early to rate with an entire Offensive scheme change and 2-3 new potential starting QBs.

I have stated that I think the O-line will be more solid than anticipated by some of the doom and gloom posters, but there will be a learning curve and some shake out. My guess is the O-Line will start a bit shaky but gel around mid-season.

...is he physically done or can Daboll resurrect his career versus Dennison's offense with Tolbert?.....still think Tolbert was more of a locker room leading solidifier versus his RB prowess.....and he did serve that role....

If the O-line was still intact, I would agree. With all of it in flux and unknown, and the Daboll run scheme largely untested I am holding my breath. Ingram and Ivory have been two RBs I always enjoy watching run, because they run with a bit of nasty. Just not sure what Chris Ivory we are getting, and how the O-Line, scheme etc will meld. IMO it is a good risk for both parties.

It should also be known Ivory has had a bit of a fumble history. His ball security is my primary concern.

I wanted Johnson to start over Flutie based on his performance in the previous game  even though I loved Flutie

Thought Trent Edwards was going to be the real deal

    but

I actually wanted the backup QB (name escapes me) to replace Jim Kelly before he actually did

^ Todd Collins or Frank Reich?

I thought there were times Jim Kelly should have taken a week or two more to recover from injury since the team always seemed to rally around Frank Reich

I thought JP Losman had what it took to be a very good, not great, QB

I believe Chan Gailey was the best HC the team had between Marv and McDermott

On that topic Marv was tremendous at managing ego's and a good motivational one liner at times, was but was not a great Xs and Os coach

I thought we got two defensive steals in the 2010 draft with Carrington and Moats.

I bought into the Darrick Rogers (WR) pre-season hype

Butch Byrd belongs on the Wall of Fame

  6. Really excited to see what Phillips and Edmunds can do to help transform this D with White on the back end. McBeane are very methodical in building up McDermott's specialty, the defense.

Last year the Bills knew they could not rebuild the whole Defense, so they focused on a unit, the secondary. They invested in two under the radar FA signings and a high draft pick in Poyer, Hyde and White. They hit gold.

This year the focus was D-line. Again 2 under the radar FA's in Murphy and Star L. Again a high draft pick in Harrison Phillips. I have to believe the thinking is that improved D-line pressure will immediately help an already good secondary and solidify the rush defense, forcing throws toward Poyer, Hyde, White and Davis.

I expect McBeane to focus on LB next year through FA and draft. I believe none of the LB FA's will be big names, but steady contributors or guys who fit the scheme and process. I also don't think they expected Edmunds or Phillips to be available when they were in the past draft, so they moved to get the guys they wanted and it helped move along the process. LB is probably a year ahead of schedule if Edmunds pans out.

I wouldn't be surprised to see 1 or 2 mid level LB signings and another round 1-3 draft pick on LB next year. I believe those LBs will fill in the weaknesses or compliment the D-line and secondary (pass rushing specialist, run stuffer, or coverage types) as needed.

The big splashes will probably continue to be on offense next year with Daboll firmly entrenched as OC. Matthews and Zay Jones were probably supposed to be the big splash on offense last off season and it was a whiff. But they countered and tried again with Benjamin. Allen and Daboll are the obvious big moves this off-season. No one could have predicted the melt down at OL.

I see a plan evolving and it actually makes sense. I hope Dirty Harry is a part of it for a long time.

Helpful hint for those wanting multiple tickets.  I think the limit is 4 per person per visit where you pick them up.  So my wife took all the kids that were home with her and they went in individually and got 4 each.  Then went to another store and did the same. repeated as necessary for all tickets needed for all practices desired.  Yeah, we supplied a few out of town people for a few years :)

4 is the historical limit per person per location. Does anyone have a list of locations to obtain tickets?

What's the deal with the military night? I want in on that.

Concessions discounts to those with valid military ID if history proves correct.

  8. What were your net gains vs. Jan 2017?

Lets say they were +100k since 1/2017. You took a 65k paper loss, still up 35k. Never emotionally buy or sell.

I took a stock to and through bankruptcy a few years ago. Lot's of shady context. I held my 'shares' until the court ruled in favor of the company. 5 figure real loss.

You win some you loose some. You lost paper value in a day, you sit tight, reevaluate your investments and know the next uptick is forthcoming.

    It's a long game.

....with the mass exodus, they better have a plan in place......maybe Roch-Cha-Cha's WHAM sends 'em Bobby "The American" Matthews.........for a 2037 7th round conditional...

LOL, that is Rochester Democrat and Chronicle (Gannett) and WHAM sports journalist Bob Matthews. I think he is already well past retirement age. One of the last things giving the D&C any credit at all. As bad as Buff News may be the D&C is a complete failure at this point. Went to crap shortly after Gannett left Rochester for VA :(

Fairburn is really good, I hope he does stay somewhere in the region but gets promoted.

1.) No more train whistle. Can't stand it.

2.) Allow Gate 1 for general entry. I hated it when they changed it to Press only etc.

3.) make all the wings boned rather than boneless for the masses. It ain't a wing when it boneless (white meat too) . yuck.

4.) Invite Sabretooth for a game (or two). When the sabres aren't playing, of course. He can be Billy's guest.  The Sabres shoud have a street hockey game that day in

one of the Lots. Or at Halftime. There would me a massive crowd for that.

    yes, yes, yes, yes!!

oh, and I second better beers (Southern Tier, Hamburg, Rohrbach etc)

Huh?  You said we are a 5-7 win team.  I'm agreeing with that, more or less.

I said 4-6 but that could easily be 5-7 as well.  8 wins and up from there is the sort of record I don't see us achieving, at the moment. It's still early.

    I don't gamble.

I'm betting the over on my under LOL!

Truth is, I was being an @ss last night and had to edit my response to not bring up gambling or politics where they didn't belong.

We are agreed the 5-7 win potential is real. We differ where I don't see under 5 wins as even possible.

Nice to agree with you for once. Sorry for being an @ss in the prior post.

I agree Allen plays whenever ready regardless of who is in front of them. I just dont think McCarron is default the guy to play if they deem Allen isnt ready. McD did draft Peterman and put him in to start over TT last year, there is obviously something they like about him

they put Peterman in because TT absolutely sucked the two games prior, and the bench was empty after him. It worked and lit enough of a fire in TT to do enough to limp into the playoffs.
