Agree 100%. Been saying it for a while. 5 years and JA still has a garbage OL. Despite a sh!t ton of high draft picks and FA money invested on DL, they still can not generate a pass rush and come up small

I’m over this defensive scheme. Bring in a new DC.

Odd given how much has been invested on defense.... Curious to see how these other 'stud' pics play in a different scheme.... Should have happened last year after 13 seconds before big $$$ decisions have to be made this offseason on a number of high draft pics -

McDermott The Only Defensive Head Coach in Divisional Round
RocCityRoller replied to ArtVandalay's topic in The Stadium Wall
A lot of talking heads, like Collin Cowherd, are making this a big deal this post season and during the coaching carousel. This is probably the genesis for a lot of this type of chatter. Cowherd makes some interesting arguments, but the whole Belichcik-Brady combo and 2 decades of near dominance kind of throws a wrench in the argument. -
Travis Kelce... is open on every play
RocCityRoller replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Watched a few of the <many catches> Kelce had. All were against zone. Kelce is very very good at exploiting zone coverage, and Mahomes trusts Kelce to see the same soft spots in the zone he does. Not once did anyone try bump and run vs him (jamming within 5 yards) or cover him 1:1 with a large CB/S/fast LB. Teams did that with Gronk to break up the rhythm between Brady and him to mixed success. Kelce always had a clean release, unless he was blocking and runs to open spots in the zone. Even if he is blocking he knows when to release and where to run. -

😆 At least this first half of Sea vs 49ers was good. Made it feel like more of a contest than this 28-0 crushing in the first half. -

'Tom'pa (Tampa Bay) was beat by 17. Seattle melted down versus the 49ers too (18 point loss) But overall close games. -

Moose Johsntson (former FB for the 1990s Cowboys) and an announcer for this game. Supposed to have WNY ties but craps all over the area and players when ever he can. That's what I gathered. -

Tough way for the Giants' season to end. Still has to be considered a successful season by any account. They will be able to make a decision on Dan Jones now (like Buffalo did with Tyrod) and have more cap room and picks coming in the next couple of years. Impressed with Daboll. He did a lot better with the Giants in year 1 than I thought. Also shows how hard a 3rd game with a divisional opponent is for most teams. Cincy/ Buffalo/ Baltimore/ Giants all struggled in this situation. I thought Miami acquitted themselves well given their situation, and so did the Eagles. -
While you said nothing wrong, I think it is fair to point out they lost a lot of talent on the O-Line. It's almost like having a good OL helps an offense execute or something?!? Who knew?

A lot of coordinators taking the sword this off season for HC blunders and organizational errors

Eric Moulds - this week’s legend of the game
RocCityRoller replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
HOF easy. No disrespect to Reed, but Moulds was the prototype NFL WR. I think of AJ Green prior gen and AJ Brown this gen when I think of Moulds. Imagine if Moulds would have been paired with Manning, or Brady or Brees?, but sadly Moulds had pretty terrible QB play his whole career. Still managed almost 10k receiving yards. -
Zach Ertz, his deal is almost done

100% agree. During the Damar Hamlin game this is exactly how Cincy came out to play. They were setting a very physical (if not slightly dirty) tone early on. It's part of how they rise up to the other top teams in the AFC and it is effective for them. 3-0 vs KC recently is no joke. (Buffalo 2-1 in same span). KC and Buffalo are willing to finesse each other and let the score come down to the last quarter. That is NOT Cincy's game, though with their weapons they are more than capable of doing that too. The extra stuff with Hendrickson on Allen and Hurst on our DB are examples. They were not the most egregious of physical/ dirty play but they were intent on setting a tone very early that this was going to be a physical dog fight among peers, and they were going to take it to Buffalo. Meanwhile our Bills were showing up like it was a gentleman's dual at 10 paces. Those AFC North games feature a lot of talent but delve into slobber knockers to help even the field and set tone. Indy built a tough OL and DF7, Baltimore never shies from a physical game on O or D, Cincy always has an enforcer or two to set a tone and rises to those teams, Pittsburgh is usually willing and able to mix it up. Buffalo needs to be ready and willing to do that too. I'm just not sure who on our team has that grit. Allen,Knox sure. On defense, who is our enforcer or psychopath? It astounds me how Buffalo has a top 5 defense with almost no identity this entire era. I was happy to see the OL get in and mix it up with Wilkinson last week. We need that fire from play one this week. Cincy can beat you a couple of different ways, and they are not shy about setting a tone. I'm not saying play dirty, or that Cincy is necessarily dirty, but the Bills need to realize they will probably be battered and bruised after this game, and Cincy will be out to set a tone early.

If Dorsey and Brady move on I would definitely interview him as OC. Mike Shula is still on the staff with no rumors for interviews. Roman could help develop an actual run game to compliment Josh Allen. Keep Mike Shula as a passing game coordinator to flesh out Roman's run concepts, and keep the passing attack JA and Diggs/Davis/Knox are familiar with. The offense would probably look more like Philly or Cincy than 'Josh do it all'. It might force Buffalo to make some actual investments in the OL and be more productive with the RBs. I'd love to see what he could do with Cook, Singletary, or a Singletary like back-fill, McKenzie and a QB like Allen. Roman has often made chicken salad with chicken sh!t.

JoPo's message to Bills Mafia
RocCityRoller replied to Toomstone.Part.Duex's topic in The Stadium Wall
There was a very deep S draft last year. I'm very surprised Buffalo did not address safety last year. Hyde and Poyer were both over 30, expensive and nearing their contract/ career end. When you have a quarter billion dollar QB you have to backfill expensive aging vets with young talent and precision trades and some mid tier FAs. Poyer, Hyde, Milano and White are my favorite Bills defenders. But at some point age and cost catch up. JAs contract was no surprise, the ink is dry and has been for a while. The 5 premium picks in the defensive front 6/7 selected during Allen's rookie window need to pan out and start producing better. Buffalo may have to pivot to being an offensive juggernaut and make the top draft picks on offense for the next year or two until the cap situation become better. KC and Cincy have followed this approach. They plan on scoring lots of points and hope the defense can get a stop or turnover. -
Bengals' Board Monitoring TBD

So what? Are they calling us names? Did they say mean things? Do they prefer their team? -
Same. Thought everyone saw this similarity. 1988 Bills are one of my favorite teams ever. Started 11-1, lost 3 of 4 to lose home field to Cincy. Monster defense, offense figuring it out.
