I don't want ANY Tightend that early! You don't spend a top 10 pick on a TE. History tells us that.

who cares.. this guy is toxic. Bills are not interested at all IMO

That's not true. They were interested...why is that so hard for people to believe this. Our GM, Coach & Owner were all on board. You don't make this deal if everyone wasn't on board.

This is great news for us.

I say get your slot in this draft if not Zay is our best bet for that job. Don't waste money on any of these free agent Wrs. The only one I think will be worth a deal is Moncreif and that's all depending on his price. 7mil per for 3yrs is the most I offer him.

Btw there is some great talent at the slot this yr . Players u can possibly get in the 3rd or 4th rds.

    #1 Andy Isabella

    #2 Deebo Samuel

    #3 Parris Campbell

    #4 Terry McLaurin

    # 5 Penny Hart

Yea but I don't want a slot player... Zay is a slot player. Why can't we have a big stud WR? We do we always have to settle? Those players you've listed are good...if you already have a Stud WR in place...they can complement your receiver core nicely.  But we don't have that in place... I'd rather have DK... get the big, strong, fast guy that can catch & out muscle people for the ball

This would be pretty cold blooded by the Steelers.  I don't want A. Brown if he doesn't want to be here which I doubt he does.   I hope this is fake news or the deal falls through.

If it happens get over it... he'll be sold to play here, just like Jim Kelly, Shady, Mario Williams

    Hey Guys,

Gave TheDraftNetwork's "Mock Draft Machine" a try and came out pretty pleased with the way my draft went. I only did 5 rounds, and only made selections for the Bills. Would you be happy if this is what we came away from the draft with? Any players you don't like on here? Who would you have tried to go with instead?

Thanks for the fun discussion, and give TDN's mock machine a try. Its pretty fun!

I wanted to try this... do they give draft grades?

Good, I don't want to pay him $12M.  I would MUCH rather sign Humphries.  He may prove worth it, he may not.  I don't want to gamble $12M to find out.  Give me a great slot WR like Humphries for less and then draft our #1 type WR this year in rounds 1 or 2.

$10-$12M is what you pay for a WR 2... do you see what the #1 WR's are getting?? ODB, AB, Mike Evans... these dudes are $17-20M per year

    Ya think? lol

I believe Harry is the best WR in this draft, and yea that's part homer but still watching this kid play he's amazing.

I like them both... Harry is going to be nice. But I don't think he'll be a Superstar. If we have a chance to get that type of player get him...but if not... I'm not mad if we draft Harry ?

Not excited about this scenario, we get a questionable WR and then every top o-lineman is picked in the rest of round one and we get the left-over OT in round 2. Nope, not working for me. We need a top o-lineman before WR.

Think about the Dolphines game when Clay dropped it at the end... Allen needs weapons. O-Line is deep... I'm good getting a guard or tackle in the 2nd or 3rd. But the potential a DK can bring... is huge!

I also like K'Neal Harry & Miles Boykin but man... I'd rather have a potential Superstar instead of a decent starter.

Just to clear up a few misconceptions...

First off, Vertical and broad jump are highly highly correlated to agility.  The muscles you use to jump are the same ones that allow you to change direction...explosive is explosive.  The main difference between the two types of tests, however, is the deceleration (or lack thereof) required to change direction (agility) vs. starting from a stopped position (explosiveness).  Things like footing, center of gravity, weight...all of those factors are multiplied because they apply on deceleration AND acceleration.  DK is at a distinct disadvantage as a tall, heavy receiver with long legs in those types of tests. What happened, at least in some respects, is to be expected.

That said, it doesn't mean he can only run in a straight line...it just means he won't be able to use precision to gain separation.  He may need to round off a route more than you would like, but his combination of size (both reach and weight) combined with his speed would allow him to run away from corners AND separate from them physically.  People keep talking about north/south, but the reality is he would be just as dangerous running east/west.

Plus lets be real...this dude would be a split end in almost any offense.  His route tree is already going to be limited based on the type of coverage he will most often see...he's either going to beat his man physically at the line against press and get vertical, or stem his route if he gets a cushion.

Bottom line is, a guy that size with his flying 20 time is a nightmare and the kind of cushion CBs will need to give him, combined with JA's velocity, will more than make up for a few milliseconds of time needed to CD.

If he is actually physical and can actually track/catch the football, he is a steal at #9

And to add... just because a WR doesn't change direction that well... doesn't mean he can't be a stud WR. Mike Evans is horrible at changing direction during his routes... but he's also 1 of the all time WR's to have 5 straight 1,000 yard receiving years back to back.

I'd rather have nkeal Harry as our move the chains big bodied jump ball guy personally if we can swing a trade down and grab him

He's my 2nd choice after DK.

I'll buy that.  Love to have Isabella.

If we were to draft Isabella... what do we do with Zay Jones??

I like Isabella... but How in the world is he going to take this offense to the next level???  We'll be drafting another WR next year if we draft him. We need a potential Superstar

This.  Imo some of the other guys are just slight improvements over Zay Jones.  In this draft I would look to add the best deep threat in the draft.  Its Metcalf or 3 wrs under 200 pds and barely 5-9.  Just watch the simulcast 40.  Metcalf picks up speed and by 30 has another gear even the elite guys dont.  I mean when does it matter if he can run 50 yards faster than anyone? Twice a game when Allen releases some missiles.  That 1 trick added to the 20 yard stop go is all the offense needs.  Add a Te now intermediate you have Zay, Foster and who ever else with wide open space because Metcalf will run off coverage.  Forcing safties to play 20 plus off the line should open running lanes as well.

Exactly!  You can't teach Height & Speed. With our coaches and offensive style, I think Metcalf would be a good fit for us.

You nailed that Zay Jones comment too! I think most of us are not thinking we need a difference maker at the WR position...not some more weapons. Heck... the Jets had weapons for Darnold better then what we had for Allen & they want to upgrade.

Some folks may not be sold on Metcalf, I'm not either fully...but he's the ONLY player in this draft that has Superstar Potential! Everyone else grades out as a solid WR... another Woods, Zay Jones, Maybe one of them turns into a Stevie Johnson. But we don't have that AJ Green, Julio, Hopkins, AB, Mike Evans,  type player... I'm willing to role the dice on the only player in this class that resembles those players.

  12. Also, if anyone is interested in hearing more of a breakdown...Crabbs will be on WGR at 9am.

Update:  Here's his interview in case anyone wanna take a listen. Not bad... he made a comment on how Beane seems to love high upside guy's that have that raw ability that his coaching staff can coach up. Which is why he mock Metcalf to us.

    And there is that...

Since the OP brought up a Julio Jones comparison, Julio's 3 cone time was about 3/4 of a second better.

there's a lot more bake to Metcalf than there is shake (to those who actually remember Shake and Bake).

Not to say that he can't become a dominant receiver, but  I agree, it isn't a certainty.

& how much uncertainty has turn into a great WR in this league??

People said Nuke Hopkins can't separate enough to be elite. Yet all he does is make plays

AB - was suppose to be a special teams gem...not turn into the best WR in the league.

Mike Evans doesn't have elite speed for his size... the NFL corners will press him at the line...yet he's a top WR.

ODB ... Very talented... but more of a slot WR...

Man ... these scouting reports were saying alot...that don't mean a lick... if you can ball... you will ball out...plain & simple.

When I watch DK film, all I see is him out muscling CB's or burning them... running the full route tree will come. Some guy's can do it coming out...some guy's develop they're game as time goes on... like Juilo & Megatron.

DK ... should be a stud... I was beating the drum on the Bills Message Board for Mike Evans ... yet we not only traded up...but we took Sammy. The guy that was a gadget player all through college.

5 minutes ago, John from Riverside said:

    WHy not?

    That is a solid plan

Because OL & DL are loaded this year. WR isn't... DK is probably your only top 10 WR in this class. We need a stud... & need to stop playing around with the position or we'll be stuck with Kelvin Benjamin & the Devin Funchess's of the world at WR.

We're going to waste Josh Allen (who I would like to be sold on if he can get some weapons) like Carolina is wasting Cam!

Yes it's solid... but solid is safe... we need a stud for Allen. Free Agency doesn't have a DK ...you have to draft one. If the Jets don't screw up & DK falls to 9. You pull the trigger... no questions ask!

I give him credit...but he did inherit a pretty decent roster.

True! But that's what shows how good of a coach he is... some guy's can take a good roster & take them backwards... i.e Rex Ryan, jon Gruden, Doug Marrone, Bill O'Brien jus to name a few

Really good rosters... & can't do anything with the talent.

  15. 20 hours ago, Buftex said:

If these are my only choices, I would say Perry Fewell...he is the only one I am not sure sucks.

Anthony Lynn for me... shame nobody thinks about him...& the man can actually coach better then all of those names on the list... might even be better than our HC too...

Its time to learn about podcasts. I am not exaggerating when I say I haven't listened to the radio in over a year. That includes when I am in my car.

Joe B. & Matt Fairburn...has a great Podcast! Only problem is ... it's just once a week. It's called Bills Beat

You should be able to find it on iTunes but definitely is on Sound cloud & Google Play

    Glad... ?

I actually watch an Adam Sandler movie on Netflix... "The Week Of..."  & judging from everyone's reaction, I think I made out better .... that movie was funny as heck! One of Sandler's best movies in years probably since Big Daddy. Good flick, good ending! Kinda has that Meet the Parents/Christmas Vacation feel
