I was bummed to see Bell sign with the Jets last night, but after thinking about it a little bit, I think on the whole a competitive Jets team is good for us.  This has been the Patriot's division for 17 years and a large part of their success has been playing the Bills, Jets, and Dolphins twice a season, every season.  Playing in this milquetoast division filled with three dysfunctional franchises has been one of the main factors in their dynasty.

The last season the Patriots had less than double digit regular season wins was in 2002.  Since then they have only had two seasons with less than 11 wins.  Not only do they waltz into the playoffs every year, but with their fat regular season record from dominating the AFC East, they usually have home field advantage too.

For the Bills to finally be contenders, the Patriots can no longer dominate the division.  The Patriots need to start losing division games and winning the AFC East needs to become competitive again, not just a foregone conclusion.  That's why it's good for the Jets to get better too, not just the Bills.  Instead of the Patriots going 6-0 in division games, or having that one fluke loss and going 5-1 in the division, the Patriots need to start going 3-3 in the division playing tough Bills and Jets squads and suddenly the division is up for grabs again.  Being able to have playoff games in Orchard Park would be huge.  For way too long the road to the playoffs has gone through Foxborough

The Patriots dynasty can't end soon enough and a competitive Jets team is an important part of that.  We need to have the AFC East become a normal football division again, with multiple competitive teams and the title up for grabs at every season opener, not this dysfunctional division of the Patriots and the Three Dwarves.  It goes without saying that the Bills need to finally take that next step and become competitive, but the Jets need to become competitive too.

In the big picture, I think the Jets getting better is more of a plus than a minus for our division and the Bills.

I wouldn't say the Jets got better... they're O-Line is still in shambles. Bell & Darnold are going to have a hard time playing behind that line.

I get it tho... I think right now, they're where the Bill's are at. I think if we can add a stud WR at 9. That will set us up big time to contend.

I was sleepy and half paying attention last night, watching Bell and OBJ news and playing the PS4 . I don't think Bell is going to help the Jets that much with their OL right now - the Jets almost feel like we used to be.

Lol... yea... I agree. Their O-line is horrendous & I think Darnold & Bell are going to have a harder time producing this year

I think that the first two rounds will be used to get who they think might make a HOF player.  Regardless of whether they are already "set" at that position.

Not the way McBeane operates.  They're taking the high upside guy with the raw talent.  If you need an example....look at our QB. Nobody wanted him because he was so raw ...with huge upside.  They draft to groom the upside.

I honestly think DK...if he's there is the pick. They can take they're time with him, just like Allen. They have other WR's where DK doesn't have to be rushed on the field. They can't buy an X Receiver obviously...so you have to draft one.  Josh Allen is your biggest investment, you don't play around with your investment by taking another position.

Tightend could be the 2nd option at 9 besides WR too.

The way you beat Brady is pressure up the middle, DT needs to be the priority - otherwise he will just outgunsling us regardless how good our offense is.

No the way you beat Brady is knocking down his passes. Brady is immune to pressure & blitzes. You have to knock some balls down...he hates that...

havent signed any DT and just seems to make sense at 9.

DT is frickin deep...you can a legit starter in the 2nd & 3rd Rds this year! This offense still doesn't have a legit X receiver. If anything, WR at 9 is looking more & more definite. It's not that many X WR's in the draft, maybe 4-5.

I still think they go WR early. 1st or definitely 2nd. Unless DK is there or they trade back & get N'Keal Harry.

I think you need culture to win or at least to sustain it.  Maybe culture isn't the word but there's a cohesion to the best teams - and the perennial winning teams have that coach that do great at keeping things together.  The Browns have a good bit to prove from an organizational and coaching perspective.  They have the talent to make that a whole lot easier.

    Same Thing

Once you wins some games... that will automatically chance your Culture

This explains why winning trumps Culture! Once you win...your Culture automatically changes!

Lol. That's why both teams took enormous cap hits to get rid of them.

If you never played the game at a high level that's fine , but you might not understand how important that locker room culture is. It's absolutely necessary for winning .

How many playoff wins does AB and OBJ have?

    Exactly

    Winning trumps culture man...Period!

Schopp is an absolute moron.  I know it has nothing to do with this post but I had to say it.

He sucks so bad I spelled his name wrong and had to edit.

I'm listening to them now... man... I'm mad Schopp is back. I was happy when it was just Bulldog & Sal. Schopp still talking about the AB deal...dude let it go!

Anyway to the OP... mini camp baby! Beginning of May... we get to see Josh start the chemistry building! ????????

Per Rapoport #Lions free agent pass-rusher Ziggy Ansah, one of the top pass-rushers on the market, has visits set with the #Bills and then the #Saints, sources say. Both quite interested. The physical is important, as he’s recovering from shoulder surgery.

I think he will add a solid pass rush to our D-Line. He's a stud... he can get to the QB. 30 years old but I think he can give us 3-4 good years. Plus, the market is dying down a little. The money might be right...& not outrageous...so why not

Duke Williams can wind up being better than both.

    Who??? ????

    I'm joking

I think Zay is skating on thin ice... I think Foster is going to get better. Plus, I think Allen likes Foster more then Zay. Either way, the Bills usually keep 5-6 WR's ... I think Brown, The Beasles, Zay, & Bob Foster ...that's 4 .... DK, Harry, or Butler drafted will make 5. If they keep 6...Maybe McKenzie or maybe they'll draft another WR in the 4th or 5th?

  12. I also like Kevin Johnson... loved him back in 2015 when he was coming out. Great zone corner, former 1st rd pick...who pretty much played a little out of his position the last few years. I think he starts opposite of Tre'white.

Morse... I think we all like this signing.

    Gore...is a head scratcher.

Overall...it was a good day. Not great. I think we need to get Daryl Williams & Tyrell... but brace yourselves, both will probably be $12M a piece!  I'm willing for that to happen to boost this offense up.

If we draft DK, along with Tyrell... man! This offense would have gotten a face lift ???

I understand how free agency works. The regime clearly believes Kroft is better than the 661 receiving yards he's amassed. I just don't see much upside, but time will tell.

It's the combination of player/money I have a problem with.

Morse, Johnson, Gore. Fully on board.

Kroft is legit! Dude couldn't shine cause of all the tightend Cincy had. But everytime he got his chance...he produced. He's the kind of player Bills fans want in this team
