  1. So NFL waits for positive news. Ok, your guy didnt die so we dont look bad saying touhg luck buffalo/cinci and hopes of your 1 seed.
  2. Did we win? Anyone questioning if the Bills should fight on for a Super Bowl or fold it in. There is your answer.
  3. We all watch videos of guys getting paralyzed which is basically death to a young person. There is no confusion about the risk involved.
  4. It does feel like all the media attention and hours of footage impacted things.
  5. I agree with the postponements which is what the NFL has done. Mon game postponed, practices and media sessions delayed, etc. But ending a season would have been a different story.
  6. Look at 9/11. Different situation obviously but still an enormous event in history. The NFL went on. MLB went on. How many players quit? The Pat Tillman story was so huge because it was so rare. Would not be a shock to see a player retire over this, but I don't know. I get the talk around the mental struggles from seeing the event unfold in front of guys. The impact that can have. But for it to be about knowing he is ok is something else. That is separate from the trauma. How is that different than a teammate in a car accident or some other event that results in them fighting for their life? How about a players family member? Kind of harsh but being an NFL player carries some high expectations that normal folks dont have placed on them. The NFL will not wait for you. I think they are treading lightly in this case because it happened on live TV. Imagine if Damar was hit by a bus leaving practice and the whole team watched? I honestly dont know if the NFL would be saying "dont worry about playing this game, we will figure soemthing out".
  7. I think they do. Its secondary right now but I would bet none of them have said lets throw our goals out of window and give up. The priority is on supporting their brother, but will return to business.
  8. The way I look it. Life is not fair. What happened to Damar is an example of that. It essentially was a freak accident that only happens once every blue moon. This was not someone's fault. There is nobody to be mad at. Nothing really could have been different to avoid it. It is just one of those random things in life. The only choice I see is that you have to carry on. To not let the unfairness impact things that you can control. So you return to normal as much as possible. At least that is the mindset, but the reality is there will still some pain and sorrow. But slowly that goes away and you are stronger in the end knowing you didn't let what happened get the best of you.
  9. CIN playing for 2 or 3 seed and giving up chance for rest and prep for playoffs. They will know who they are playing. Bills playing for 1 seed. Another point is if you’re CIN do you want to play KC or BUF first in the playoffs? Yes the Bills game would be at home but they have beat KC multiple times now. Bottom line in this scenario bills have more to play for and could see cin resting guys.
  10. I was talking about the idea of not playing that game at all. If there is an option of playing week 18 & 19 as scrimmages to rest for the playoffs that would be a better option than no week 19. I still think you don’t just fold it in if you have a shot at the 1 seed. But you do have flexibility to rest certain players while still looking for a w.
  11. So basically take this week off and we are on the next week in a lose and season over game? That does not sound appealing to me. I like the idea of meaningful games vs ne and cin to make sure our heads are right going into the playoffs. Two practice games means more to me than the rest.
  12. Limping how? We are either playing cin week 19 or the ravens or chargers. Not getting a bye that week. I play cin, win and we get our week off. Lose and we are playing the ravens or chargers. I take that over not playing then in a one and done game.
  13. Play CIN for chance at 1 seed or chance we get a week off if we got Super Bowl? I am taking a shot at the 1 seed. The nfc team won’t have the week off either.
  14. I don’t have a problem with this if we are 1 seed. Beat cin in essentially a practice playoff game, then get a week off. Worse case - Lose that game you get to play another game still.
  15. This dont play another game this season talk is crazy. Monday was awful. It was traumatizing. Yes, it was different than what we have seen before. But that does not make it worse than seeing your teammate paralyzed for life, the death of a family member, and other tragic events. It is too early to tell, but things are looking positive for Damar and while everyone is different there are enough stories out there of people in similar situations that have made full recoveries. Throwing in the towel on the season would only make a tragic event worse for everyone.
  16. I’m the opposite. Seeing the Bills play and come back from this is what I need. I don’t need to time to think and dwell. The sooner the season ends will only make things harder. We need a Super Bowl and a parade with Damar sitting on the float.
  17. Last night was way different being during a game and in front of the world. Things are looking positive and hopefully Hamlin is able to make a full recovery. Thinking about other NFL tragedies and what followed. Below are some notable players that died during the season in tragic ways. In every case the games went on even within days of the deaths... Sean Taylor - Murdered; Team played days later. Jovan Belcher - Murder suicide. Much taking place at KC facility and team played days later. Jerry Brown - Car crash with teammate. He died and teammate survived the crash. Chris Henry - Fell out of car during domestic dispute. Had issues and was attempting comeback. I am sure there are others but these came to mine. The games will go on. Hopefully the events that took place last night will bond the team together. Yes life is more important than football. But the game is also what brings so many people together and we have seen what happens for many when the games ends.
  18. Will never know. Game could have gone many different ways. However, the Bills O and Allen looked dialed in. That is usually a good sign so my guess it would have been a close high scoring game 41-38 or if the D figured things out a Bills blowout 42-21.
  19. You get through whatever happens here and move on. You have no other choice.
  20. Obviously Damar Hamlin's health is what is most important. That is all that matters right now. But let's stop with anything else, especially the I am happy with an L in this game and who cares about the super bowl, and all that. Even worse case scenario here you dont blow it all up. In tragedy you bond together and fight with your brothers.
  21. 2022-2023 13 seconds Shooting Hyde and Miller season ending injuries, and many others Once in a lifetime blizzards Hamlin Hopefully Hamlin pulls through and Bills get a super bowl.
  22. Better be a postponement. Playing the game or a bills loss are both ridiculous.
