Dude - Aaron Rodgers to Jets is significant. Taylor to Chiefs is significant. Brown to Bengals is significant. Ramsey and Long to MIA is significant. Those are the 4 teams we are fighting with the most.
The point is put the same QB on every team and where do the Bills stack up? Yes he gets credit for Josh Allen, but what has he built around him? You have the best QB in the league then you should be a Super Bowl contender. Right now the Bills are slipping out of that category.
Rodgers to Jets
MIA making a number of upgrades
KC and CIN both making significant moves
Meanwhile we spend money that could have been used elsewhere on Hines, Harty, Mata, Martin, Lewis, Dotson
Concern is the $ and how this impacts other signings. We paid him like he is expected to contribute. He had a moderate role in 2021 but other than that not a lot. If it’s only for special times then it is even more concerning.
Yes - if the sane qb plays for the bills, chiefs, 49ers, bengals, eagles we lose to all 4 of them. No question in my mind. Heck I would argue we lose to the jets and fins and many other teams.
Here is what you don’t get about this signing. If this is the guy we target and give this money, why did we not just get Toney at the deadline? We had a need so bad we signed guys off the street. He would have helped last year and be cheaper this year and next. A good GM should be thinking a year out not just reacting which seems like the bills always are.
For me it’s gone backwards if these moves preclude others. We needed a legit WR. We got Hines, Harty and McK for that price. I would have cut Hines, not signed Harty and gone after one of the wr available.
Truly hope so
