I dont think teams will adjust or be forced to do anything because Damien Harris is on the field is my point. Did the Bills adjust the D because of him? Did any team adjust because of him? This is really diminishing our other RB's. This is not a Ferrari vs Kia upgrade. Its more like a Toyota vs Honda. Same quality, different skillset.
-
This requires changing the play calling and the OL being able to block. Our block scheme is not a power run blocking scheme and the personnel represents that. I’m not sure if the RB changes that. The reaction is like Harris is a game changer. I agree he is a better short yardage runner than we have had. But we also have not had a scheme or OL so who knows how successful we could have been already.
-
So now we want Harris having the ball over Josh? When he was on the Pats I guarantee we would all say Josh is more dangerous in the red zone than Harris.
-
In the Bills O he would not have gotten many of these touches. I do hope it works out but until proven otherwise the ball in Josh hands in these situations has proven most effective.
-
Rushing td’s from the red zone are more on the play call and the OL than the RB.If Harris has 15 td’s for the Bills I would bet it means Allen got injured. We are not a line up qb under center hand off to the rb team. Even in the red zone we are still going shotgun. That is not the system Harris has been used in.
-
Better not be true It’s the new name syndrome. Replace X with Y. Y is obviously better. I agree Harris is just another dime a dozen rb. Actually a downgrade from singletary.
-
I would not make the assumption: WR Room: Harry and Sherfield is an upgrade from Crowder and McK. At best it’s a swap of B players for B players. We need to add an A. RB Room: Harris is not an upgrade over Singletary. He is just new. Needed move but not an upgrade. If Cook is not the guy we still need a RB. OL: We swapped McG for Saffold. Looks like an upgrade. But the OL is not upgraded yet. It was more than just Saffold. RT was a bigger issue. Put another way - if any other team signed the guys we have nobody on this board would be impressed. Most have probably only heard of Harris bc he played us a lot.
-
He had the special play were he goes one way and everyone goes the other. Guaranteed for a 10 yard loss everytime. Its playing for better punting position call.
-
Should have released him. Sign him back later if they still wanted him. Based on this RB market I doubt his phone would have been blowing up.

Looks like we overpaid for Hines
-
The guy our coaches chose to get PT over the two guys still on our roster leaves. The response is "look I knew he sucks, nobody wants to pay him". What does this say about the guys we have on our roster to replace him and our coaches? I didn't really care if motor resigned. But its always funny how subtraction is celebrated as we get better.

And he got more carries than Cook and Hines...

Probably not a complete list but here are key offseason signings, and some were trades. The approach remains the same on offense if you look at it: 1) Reaches for WR that didn't work out - Benjamin, Matthews, Streater, Kerley, Roberts, Sanders, Crowder, Bolden, Brown (rd 2), Beasley (rd 2). 2) Bargain shopping at OL - many misses and one-year stopgaps. Morse the priciest is the only one that stuck. 3) RB - See OL - Tolbert, Ivory, Breida, Johnson, Gore We still have Morse and a good pick in Dawkins. The rest of the OL could be anyone. The hope is McGovern works out but could wind up like Spain, Williams, Feliciano. At WR it is essentially Diggs and trying to find out who can be #2 and #3. At RB we hope its Cook, or he goes down the road of Singletary being the best we have but always looking for an upgrade. 2017: Hyde, Poyer, Holmes, Dimarco, Hauschka, Hodges, Tolbert, Ducasse, Streater, C Brown, R Davis, P Brown, A Bolden, K Benjamin, J Matthews 2018: Ivory, Bodine, Barkley, D Anderson, J Phillips, R Bush, Murphy, Lotulelei, Stanford, Gaines, V Davis, Newhouse, AJ McCaron, Kerley, T Pryor 2019: Beasley, J Brown, Morse, Spain, Kroft, Gore, Nsekhe, Feliciano, K Johnson, A Roberts, S Long, Waddle 2020: T Jones, Diggs, D Williams, Addison, Jefferson, Butler, Matakevich, Klein, Norman 2021: Trubisky, Breida, Sanders, Powell, Hollister, Hart, Lamp, Haack 2022: Keenum, Johnson, Crowder, Austin, Howard, Quessenberry, Saffold, Van Roten, Miller, Lawson, D Jones, J Phillips, Settle, Hines, Brown (rd 2), Beasley (rd 2)

They will be trading their 1-3 round picks for a combined 12 5-7 rounders. We will be told it’s a great move because we have our best track record w we other late round picks abs they are cap friendly. We can’t afford 1-3 round salaries and pay Allen. This board will go crazy celebrating Beane’s genius and how he is way ahead of the game. Soon every team will be trading all 1-3 rounders to the Chiefs.

Bobby Wagner - the solution to the Edmunds problem

This explains the lack of free agents. The plane has been too busy due to trhe tennis tournaments. -
Avg means jack. The fact the hit goes up in future years makes spending more now important. Lots of guys have been getting one year or short deals. and some how Mahomes with a bigger contract are still able to add $20m per players.
-
Who is that player? Our highest is under $20m I believe.
-
This. Can’t bank on having an elite qb forever. Bills fans should know this. You have to do what it takes to win when you do.

Problem is the contract #'s are coming on low. So if we are offering less then we didn't really want. If we offered same or more why do players not want to come here? -
Inner thought. Not sure if I believe this, but… Damar injury changed the mindset of this team and coaching staff. How many times did we hear stuff like this is just a game, there things more important than football, etc. We heard way more of that than win for Damar or similar. So the question is did this team lose an edge? Is the commitment to winning less important than life and family? Diggs has publicly said he is not sure he handled the Damar situation right. He was the one person saying the game must go on. He left the locker room alone in what seemed awkward. Did that cause a divide? Is that the root of issues with the team? Is he questioning the desire to win? Couple this with Kim Pegula. Is the organization as a whole less concerned about winning? Had an awakening that winning us not everything? While all true not great for a fan hoping to have his team win a Super Bowl. Everyone just seems down and without saying it that a Super Bowl is no longer goal 1.

We need a draft like KC had last year.

Reality is we need more than just one LB. Huge upgrade over a guy like Klein and the money was easy, could have even gone two years to get this year hit even lower. -

No idea what we are doing. This deal and even the David and Long deals are ones we should have been in on.
