  1. That is point. Hopefully (key word hope) we see Cook get better in year 2, we see Kincaid contribute as a rookie, we see Knox play better, we get production from journeyman-type WR, and Davis can look like a #2. With Hopkins, you are buying essentially a sure thing for a #2 target. He and Diggs would essentially have been 1a and 1b. We are now banking on hope. If it pays off, great and we saved some some cash for a few depth special team-type guys. If it fails, then were those depth players worth it? With Kelce its much easier to take risks on the rest of the supporting cast. We dont have anyone like Kelce.
  2. Sucks. Hopefully a #2 WR is not the missing piece to season while we watch Hopkins put up a 1,000+ yd season catching balls from Tannehill.
  3. It’s the normal “what we don’t know yet” is better than what we know. Next year we could just as easily hear how player x, y, z are clear upgrades over Harty, Sherfield and Shakir. Just how it tends to work.
  4. Since 2019 Bills compared to Chiefs Offense Bills O has scored under 20 3 times in 8 games (37.5%) Chiefs O has scored under 20 1 time in 12 games (8%) Defense Bills D held the opponent under 20 2 times in 8 games (25%) Chiefs O held the opponent under 20 1 time in 12 games (8%) You need to score to win in the playoffs.
  5. I appreciated Tyrod. He was a decent bridge QB. For some reason, many expected more out of him which was unrealistic. In 2015 he actually had one of the highest yards per attempts numbers in the league while limiting int's. So he was taking chances, but that did change over the next couple years as the WR room changed. His top target in 2017 was deonte thompson...
  6. This. The moves are not drastically different than in the past. None of them are of the "sure thing" variety. We really wont know until we see them in action. My issue is that while the OL has clearly had issues and made things more difficult. I would not say it is what will take this team over the top, it is more of the stability level and make the offense work less hard, take pressure off Allen, etc. I am more worried about two things that are important come playoffs: 1) Weapons - If Diggs is shut down what is our answer. 2) Rushing the QB - Need a healthy Miller and someone else to step up (Floyd, Groot, Oliver).
  7. Not if you generate turnovers, the offense makes mistakes - drops etc, or your offense also has long drives.
  8. Without even discussing how meaningful a stat this may be. You do realize that Hopkins only played in 9 games?
  9. Well that is oversimplifying. It’s more about the timing and sending a message. But yeah people are probably right. This stuff never happens. No way they would ever take issue with a black player “having attitude” or questioning them. What’s next. White people mad that black history is being taught? No never.
  10. McD picked White, Dawkins, Milano Whaley picked Jones, Peterman, Vallejo
  11. And they put up with his bs AND brought him back even though he was toast
  12. Question for the look how much better we are than before McBeane argument: When do you make a change? Only if they start losing? Say the team can go 10 straight years winning 12-13 games but never makes a super bowl appearance? I don't think you fire anyone for what they have done thus far, but it is also not a lifelong pass. Coaches rarely can replace talent, but coaches can limit the potential of talent. Thus far McD has met expectations with having a talent like Allen and the rest of the team. If he loses with Allen then clearly he has failed. But when is not winning enough the issue? When do you need a coach that can elevate the talent?
  13. Sorry forgot racism does not exist. There is no scenario in the world that could have Pegula along with McD/Beane taking exception with a player questioning them. There could be no mindset of we are in charge not them. No worries about losing the players and needing to send a message that McD/Beane are here to stay, if your not on board then find a new home. Race could or could not play a part. But it happens all the time in the world. I have seen many times that you reward your own as a message to others. It could be blatant and purposeful, or just an unconscious way of operating. Heck why is the NFL still needing to create incentives to hire black coaches? Why do many black players still say they are treated differently? May not be the case here, but saying it does not exist is naive.
  14. Diggs has issue with things. McD and Beane are rewarded. Could be related could be not. We knows maybe Diggs went as far as saying the team needs a change in leadership and this is the message no it does not.
  15. I would hope ownership goal is higher than what has been achieved. If not what is the point.
  16. This is going to be an unpopular take. But the timing is interesting. Could it be a message from ownership to the players, especially the black players. The GM and coach are my guys, you are a player aka the staff and need to know your place. Diggs speaking up and challenging the coach and GM stirred the pot. So Pegula needs to show that he stands with them. Who knows maybe some of the character guys talk bothers players. It can be viewed as a certain way to some of the black players. It was interesting in the comments around this extension, specifically calling out being a good Christian, etc.
  17. POST-6/1 TRADE 2023 Dead Cap: $13,205,111 2024 Dead Cap: $31,096,000 Not going to happen. If it does people need to be fired immediately.
  18. And Sherfield the year before in SF? And the 3 years before that in AZ? To me Sherfield is an avg guy and a roster bubble-type player. Not an upgrade to the WR just a replacement.
  19. This. People come to this board for different things. For me, I prefer to discuss what is going wrong and how to fix it. How to get better or things I want to see done. That is not whining. What is the point of discussing anything if its only "trust the process and dont question anything" or "we could be worse so dont complain or find a new team". I don't get anything out of discussing only how great everything is. This board is not a "lets show how much we love the Bills and support the team" for me.
  20. If you put your sports ego aside and trust your GM. Take $30M instead of $50M per. Let your GM use that $20M to build the team around you. Win a few super bowls, be a superstar like Brady. You will earn that $20Mper back in endorsements and marketing while playing and have even more money waiting for you when you retire.
  21. Allen still has the 3rd largest total contract $ behind Mahomes and Jackson.
