  1. I definitely would go under center more and run play action. Even start under center and then send the back in motion and have Josh drop back to the shotgun. Just mix it up more and become less predictable. Guys in motion and mixing up the formations. I would love to see more slants and crosses (with Josh rolling out). Add in combo/pick routes to get the ball out quick. I am not a fan of so many of our plays being long intricate routes or long stop routes. The screens or swing routes need to drop way down the list. I also want to see them spread the field more, both pre snap and in the routes. The Bills have so many routes with multiple guys in the same areas - I dont get it. Also routes with only one option should get pushed way down the list. I think they can have Cook and Murray in the backfield at the same time. Add in some Cook and Kincaid in the backfield. They need another threat behind Diggs. I dont think teams are scared of anyone else out there. So I would spread the field more have Diggs moving around to help get him open use more Sherfield/Knox/Kincaid in the seam with Diggs running the slant. Switch that up with Diggs running the out behind the guy running seam or post/corner. Not sure what to do with Harty, maybe he can be effective vs man running cross routes or going deep. The short stuff to him is pointless. Well thats a ramble.
  2. Edmunds - Not paying one of the highest contracts at his position and he sucks are different things. My issue is the ridiculous talk like he cant put one foot in front of the other. There are many with more rational thoughts saying he was too expensive and could be replaced. But there is a growing contingent that makes it out like he could not do the simplest things. Oliver - Because supposedly Oliver sucks. That is all we heard before he was resigned. So if he plays a few bad games then he sucks again? Again, my point is that extreme irrational thoughts. Player A either sucks or is the best in the world. Reality is its somewhere in between and everyone can have opinions and discussions about it. Discussions are more interesting when based in reality.
  3. Combo of things. The more fixable things would related to scheme, play-calling, personnel usage, etc. The would be nice ones are replacing Brown, adding a better #2 WR.
  4. 100% disagree. Oliver is the example of it. How many people are complaining about Oliver since we resigned him or even when we resigned him? Yet prior to that it was he is not worth the money, trade him, blah blah. Edmunds leaves and it fair game to turn him into a guy that should not even be starting on a high school team. In threads about most of current players, its I think Beane McD know more than you. The only known facts are: Edmunds played well enough to get him self a massive contract after playing nearly every snap on one of the best D's in the league over multiple years. Bernard has started 3 games and was shaky in his first, better in his second and good in his third. We dont know how it will run out vs teams that try to to run, when teams have tape on him or try to gameplan taking him into account, how his body will hold up.
  5. True. Most of this board would be celebrating if we signed Edmunds to that contract. But since we didn't of course it has to be he sucks. It such a weird place sometimes. If you complain that Spencer Brown, Gabe Davis, or whoever is not good enough your a hater and need to find another team. You say that Edmunds is a good player and you are clueless. Ed Oliver was terrible when people thought he would not be resigned, he comes back and now he is amazing. McD takes over as DC and we are so much better than our top 5 D from last year that started off the year with a better 3 game performance.
  6. I wish that I was as bad as Edmunds so I could get his contract. These NFL guys need to be hiring the scouts on this board since everyone knows how bad Edmunds is and it could have saved them some $. Those players, coaches, and scouts that voted him one of the top LB's must be pretty dumb too. Have they ever watched football. Maybe someone on this thread can give them a lesson in playing MLB in the NFL.
  7. No I tell them to watch a game or two from last year and compare to this year so they can see how obviously they are used differently.
  8. The Bills had pretty much a top 5 defense during Edmunds tenure. So its hard to say he was misused, just differently. Why would the Bills feel the need to change that if it was working? Now with a change to Bernard they are adjusting to what will make the D most successful, which has been much more blitzing Bernard and putting Bernard in better position for these types of plays. Also people have such short term memories. Last season first three games vs this season were much tougher yet the D possibly played even better...just look at the QB's last year vs this year. 2022 LAR - 10 points and 240 yards with 7 sacks and 3 turnovers to Stafford TEN - 7 points and 187 yards with 2 sacks and 4 turnovers to Tannehill MIA - 21 points and 212 yards with 2 sacks and 0 turnovers to Tua 2023 NYJ - 22 points and 289 yards with 3 sacks and 1 turnover to Zach Wilson LAV - 10 points and 240 yards with 0 sacks and 3 turnovers to Jimmy G WAS - 3 points and 230 yards with 9 sacks and 5 turnovers to Sam Howell
  9. It is true. Edmunds blitzed 18 times all last season. Bernard has already blitzed 7 in 3 games. The way Edmunds was used did impact the number of splashy plays he made. Honestly he made more of those plays early in his career when he had less responsibility. You can watch some of the earlier film on him and he is all of the field when they have him blitzing, etc. Then he became a guy that just manned the middle of the field and sometimes dropped back with the safeties.
  10. Not to mention only 1 catch. So 1 drop, 1 catch and 1 int when targeting him.
  11. Word is Harty had a very good 2021 and McK had a 2022 solidifying we need to get rid of him. I would argue the stats are not much different and even if they were exactly the same the narrative would be the same. Its the old "we know player x, we dont know new player y they just signed he must be awesome". 2021 Harty = 36 rec, 570 yards, 3 TD, success rate 50%, 23 1st D 2022 McK = 42 rec, 433 yards, 4 TD, success rate 59%, 27 1st D
  12. Why are people so quick to say it’s a Dorsey thing not Harry? He has been in the league 5 years and his best year is 36 rec for 500 yards. That is basically McK production from last year. The guy has like 800 yards total in his fifth year and it’s not him but we are not using him right? I guess no one has used him right then.
  13. Agree 100% on Harty. I was never high on him but still expected some speed on punt returns or occasional use as a speed guy. But on Sunday there was a play he could not even get separation with a LB on him. The end arounds and short stuff to him has shown nothing. Honestly looks slower and less running vision than McK. Bernard has been on an upward trend since the second half of the Jets game. He has proven to me he can be a cover guy, blitz, etc. Still not sure how it goes vs a team that tries to bully us and establish the run. But the small sample size has been trending in the right direction.
  14. Lets see how they look this week. I dont count NYJ, LAV or WAS as good indicators of anything. We have allowed essentially the same amount of points as last year through 3 games but last year it was LAR, TEN, MIA and actually held them all to less yards than this year. People quickly forget...
  15. All the numbers mean is both teams are good. The Dolphins numbers indicate they likely have a more exp0losive offense, Bills likely a better D. But three games worth of stats dont mean much other than confirming what was expected of the teams so far. Wilson, Jimmy G, and Howell... What he said
  16. Someone posted the rushing yards per carry. I have no idea why Wash did not try to run the ball. You look at the first few drives or even the entire first half when the game was still close. The first drive had two runs for 7 and 5 yards, yet they threw on 6 of 8 plays. The next they go out and its run, two passes and punt. The next drive is 1 run not including he end around in 8 plays. Then 3 straight passes ending with an int. Lastly a 10 yard run to end the. So they essentially had 4 drives and gave Robinson the rock 5 times for 20 yards in what was mostly a close game. Too little too late when they come out and have more success in the second half running it 5 times for 46 yards on the first drive that still ends in an int when they go back to passing in the end zone. Next drive they run twice for 6 and 13 yards before passing it 4 straight plays again. Meanwhile its still only a 16-0 game...I have no clue why Wash thought they had Mahomes back at QB. If they just ran the ball this is likely a much closer game.
  17. I am happy with the D. But we cant ignore 9 of our 12 sacks came in the last game. That skews the numbers quite a bit. Not to mention 4 of the 9 came when the game was 30-0. But like I said I think the D is looking solid. Lets see how this goes next week.
  18. Wilson had his best game of the season vs us and passer rating of 81.4 Jimmy G was a 68.9 and his game was below average. Howell at 41.5 stunk and drives the average down a ton. Was easily his worst game of the season.
  19. They have a ton of cap room next year and its a big dead cap hit so I see him there at least this year and next. They can get out in 2025 with under $5m in dead cap so that will be when they either restrux or cut him loose. Likely depends on where team is at that point. Are they paying Fields or another QB? They have to spend the money somewhere.
  20. A.J. - Must be first name in Beane's phone...
  21. From that pic you can see Milano is an easy 25lbs+ heavier than Bernard.
  22. That sucks. We do have a knack for getting guys to retire. What the heck are we saying to these guys.
