Dorsey’s fault haha

Ugly. This is a team that went like 100 drives without scoring. Exaggerating but you know what I mean.

Is first read strictly throwing to the first read or how fast it is going to the first read? Part of Allen's low number could be he comes off his first read so fast and goes straight to the check down. He is doing that a ton this year. Also, the Bills dont seem to run a lot of quick first read plays.
-
There you have it. Two opposite opinions. When we had guys like Tyrod and Trent Edwards people wanted a risk taker. I think many on this board just want to support whatever is happening. Allen the game manager that is great bc he is learning and smarter. Josh the risk taker that is great bc that is who he is and will win more than he will lose playing that way.
-
He is playing smarter (not sure that is the best word) as he is taking much less risk this year. But...is that what we want? While his completion % is up and his efficiency looks better much of that is due to a much higher number of short passes and dump offs. His rushing numbers are down and so are his passing yards. So it begs the question do we want Allen to become more of a high efficiency / game manager QB? Is that what equals success and his best year ever?

TV Broadcast Maps and Schedule - NFL Week 7 2023 (October 22)
ngbills replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
On the west coast - paid for Sunday Ticket and this year only 1 of the 6 games needed the ticket (WASH game). All others could watch through normal tv. -
Could be a good week for the Bills. Lots of AFC/NFC games, hopefully we see a flip from last week. At least give a Fins loss...Bills could be back in first at the end of Sunday. Rooting interests: Saints over Jags Lions over Ravens Rams over Steelers Eagles over Fins Bears over Raiders Chiefs v Chargers - Go Chargers, but somebody will lose at least Colts v Browns - Go Colts, but somebody will lose at least

NFL Trade Deadline Oct 31 - Rumored List of Players Available

Get him for half the year and then trade him in the offseason. No idea what the cap implications would be of doing that. Unless you can lock him up long term at a reasonable cost and are letting Davis walk. -
Are people really that unhappy with our 4-2 Bills?

Its not comparing the Pats to the Bills. It was responding to the mindset of we used to suck so just be happy that we are winning at all. -
Simms: Gabe Davis is a good player, but he's not a number two

Many wont say it until he is gone. When he is not resigned the story will change to he was not a #2 but wanted #2 money. -

I would. The player would help - all depends what we could do with the contract. Small cap hit this year but big next. -

Isn’t healthy and don’t get? That is what the coaches and players do. You look at what could we be doing better and what is not working. Some fans like to do that as well. But this boards tends to group people together way too much. If I’m critical then I’m in the fire everyone, we are going to lose, blow it up etc. I can’t be I think we are a really good team but want and expect better. I see things we are not doing well and like to discuss it. Isn’t that point of coming on a board like this? If your a just have fun and enjoy the ride fan then why waste the energy and time reading this stuff. -

Then lets just shut down these boards until January. Come on folks. It does not take a genius to see see and acknowledge at 4-2 the Bills have underperformed. That does not mean it wont change. Its just where they are right now. Going back to why at 4-2 many people are negative. Because they are not where they should be and even the coaches see it. They have plenty of time between now and January to do just that. Why is it so easy for people to say the 5-1 MIA Dolphins are not that good. They have beat no one and the defense sucks. The 5-1 KC Chiefs do not look Super Bowl caliber. They have no WR's and Mahomes looks like trash. But being disappointed in a 4-2 Bills team that has lost to NYJ (Zach Wilson), Jax, and nearly lost to a Tyrod Taylor led Giant team, makes you clueless and or a bad fan for some reason. I bet a lot of Chiefs fans think they should be playing better and they should. We are in the same boat, which is a good thing not a bad one. -

I am focused on the what we know vs the what we dont know. Obviously we all want and hope that the Bills can be in the perennial discussion of super bowl hopefuls. But that is not a given. Hence, you have a team on the verge of a super caliber roster you cant afford to wait we have plenty of time. -

No I am addressing the premise that 4-2 is not good enough and the general discussion that just winning more than we lose is good enough. -

I agree that the window is potentially long. My point is right now the window is bigger given the situation. As Allen ages and other players as well there is greater uncertainty about said window. We know what we have right now. We dont know who will replace Diggs, Morse, Dawkins, etc as guys age out. We replace them we are always in good shape with Allen, but he cant do it on his own especially when he is no longer superman Allen. -

I would not call it Super Bowl or bust. But at this point we are past just competing for a playoff spot and possibly losing the division to MIA. -
NFL wants to eliminate "hip drop" tackles
ngbills replied to BaaadThingsMan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Guys would get hurt if it were flag football. I wonder how many injuries are due to big hits vs just random stuff. Most of our injuries have all seemed to be on normal plays that could not be avoided with some rule change. -

So you really believe if Josh did not have the elite physical skills that he would be just as good? I am not saying he cant be a pocket passer. I am saying he is most effective and dangerous when he can utilize his athleticism, not only to run the ball but also avoid sacks and do the highlight reel stuff that we see. It creates a big issue for defenses trying to defend him. If not lets just go with a more traditional offense and see how it goes. Oh yeah, we just kind of saw that vs the Giants. -

Much of his success has been due to his off script and improvisation. As he becomes less mobile much of that goes away. Josh is a good QB but it has not been due to playing traditional QB. -

Yes, Josh age is an issue in that he wont be the dual threat he is forever. We all hope they will be as capable when that happens but it is a big ?. -

I wish the Pats had this mindset and stuck with Drew Bledsoe -

I will add. Everyone complains of injuries and guys getting worn down from a long season. Would be nice to have some blowouts vs teams like the NYG so guys can rest. Instead we played to their level and have our franchise QB on the injury report along with other guys. -

Its about expectations. Are you happy with a playoff contender or do you want a championship. The question is - will it be easier or harder to win next year, the next, etc. With Josh Allen's age and contract plus other players age the time is now to win. So when the team is on track to "only" be fighting for a playoff spot it leads to disappointment.
