  1. Davis is an awful route runner. He is not the fastest. He is not shifty. Most of his success comes when a guy gets beat or coverage breakdowns - post and no safety help, etc.
  2. A lot of the talk all season has been about how efficient the offense has been. We see stats point out Josh high completion % and his QB rating. It is pointed out how many guys we have with the highest catch %. All of these efficiency metrics supposedly to show how great the offense is doing. Yet the team record, offensive production, "eye test", etc do not match this narrative. Until this week when the team has fallen to 5-4 many refused to admit the offense is an issue. I think the concept of efficiency is flawed and overhyped. You can create a efficient offense quite easily by dialing down your offense. You can create high completion %'s and high catch %'s by throwing short dump offs. Do these things translate to success? It does not appear so for the Bills. What you see is the higher number of plays to get down the field means more opportunities for setbacks. If your running 15-20 plays the odds of a sack, penalty, int or fumble all increase. This leads to more drives stalling out after moving the ball. How many times do you see the team drive to the opposing 30 and then we get a holding call that stalls the drive. A high powered offense can take the short stuff but hits the mid to deep plays as well. You cant rely on these long drives of 4 yard plays over and over again because when you get behind the sticks the D knows what your doing and that is what leads to the turnover or being stopped. The most successful big plays are usually on 1st and 10's or 2nd/3rd and shorts when the D is not expecting it. I dont know if this is a McD thing, a Dorsey thing or Bills analytics department thing. But who cares what the efficiency metrics say. This O has became way too predictable and needs to mix things up. If they cannot then a change needs to be made.
  3. Guess McD and Dorsey are hearing all the complaining so grabbed McKitty to get back in the 12 personnel...complementary football. Two and Three TE sets with Gilliam at FB. We will beat our opponents to death.
  4. Which is why they look better when playing either desperate or when the other team gives up. This idea of managing the game, limiting mistakes, playing "smart", etc just does not work with this team. They turned a corner a few years ago when they started taking chances and playing "fun" football. They are back to playing scared and grinding the life out of you.
  5. Our O has turned into our D. O - McD wants take what the D gives you. He will take 2-3 yards every play hoping you can get 3-4 on some of them and keep the chains moving. His dream is a 18 play 75 yard drive with 7 first downs. D - McD has the similar approach. We will give you a ton of space and thrive on you making a mistake. Dropped passes, penalties, sacks, etc. You may get first down after first down but at some point you will get set back. That is fear talking. If we go uptempo then we risk the D getting on the field faster if we cant get first downs. So lets go slow and not get first downs so they at least get an extra minute of rest.
  6. All true and obvious to everyone except the people making the decisions...
  7. .5 game ahead of the Jets and Texans... Behind PIT and CLE
  8. We will hear how much DEN is better than the team that gave up 70 points. We will play to their level and either win close or possibly lose. Then DEN will go to MIN and lose by 50+ the next week.
  9. McD acts all humble but eh wants credit. We win games 42-35 then its our O that is winning. We win 21-10 its our D.
  10. Non All 22 analysis: Opening drive - Diggs 2 targets for 2 catches and 43 yards Next 4 drives in first half - Diggs 0 targets for 0 catches for 0 yards 2nd Half Opening drive - Diggs 3 targets for 3 catches and 26 yards Next 3 drives - Diggs 2 targets for 1 catch and 17 yards So on the two scripted drive Diggs has 5 targets for 5 catches and 69 yards On the 7 non-scripted drives its 2 targets for 1 catch and 17 yards. What gives?
  11. You would have to be a pretty awful coaching staff to miss the playoffs with Allen as your QB. Wait…
  12. Protect the defense at all cost. Don’t score too quick because now the other team gets the ball. The less the D is in the field the stats look better no matter how good the D is.
  13. Harty is on pace to have his second best year. The issue is why in the world they thought he should get paid that contract or have more impact. He has been in the league 5 years and his best season is 36 catches. That was on a NO team that threw 500 passes...and had no legit receivers so Harty should have ridiculous numbers even being just an average guy.
  14. Then having Ty Johnson return KO's. Call me confused. How in the world can the coaches see Ty Johnson and say lets have him be our kick returner...
  15. No Hopkins but- Harty... Hines... Too many defensive players to list Why do they have Ty Johnson returning kicks when we invest so much into special teams?
  16. Since 2020 Season Bills score 25 or less: 2020 - 4 of 16 games 2021 - 4 of 17 games 2022 - 6 of 16 games 2023 - 6 of 9 games (on pace to be worst in 4 years) Bills under 350 yards in O: 2020 - 5 of 16 games 2021 - 5 of 17 games 2022 - 4 of 16 games 2023 - 4 of 9 games (on pace to be worst in 4 years) Bills 20 or less 1st downs: 2020 - 1 of 16 games 2021 - 4 of 17 games 2022 - 5 of 16 games 2023 - 3 of 9 games (on pace to be worst in 4 years) Games outgained in yards by opponent: 2020 - 6 of 16 games 2021 - 3 of 17 games 2022 - 4 of 16 games 2023 - 4 of 9 games (on pace to be worst in 4 years) I can do this for almost every offensive category. This O clearly has issues. Dont be fooled by some of the overall stats as they are skewed by a couple games vs what the team has done in the majority of games this year.
  17. I think the parking brake is stuck on and not coming off until they scrap the driver of the car (Dorsey).
  18. Burrow goes to bed at 7pm during the season. Allen and his new lady night is just starting at 10pm.
  19. Without being in the meeting rooms or watching films knowing the play design none of us can really answer these questions. There is no question about Josh's athletic ability. Its about how he is playing the position of QB. He has a skillset that can turn bad decisions into positive outcomes. The issue is if he is not making the right reads or adjustments then he is hurting the team. Its not going to always show by us simply watching the game. Its like in basketball you watch some guy go off for like 40 points and the team loses. On the surface you can see it was not because of him. But maybe he was not getting other guys involved or doing certain things on defense that actually hurt the team. Allen has the ball in his hand every play. He is an elite athlete so will always look like a star. But if he is surviving on that alone it could be detrimental. Again, not saying this is the case. But none of us really know. Just watching it looks like he is doing everything he can to win. Makes more good plays than bad. Yet overall something is not right either with him, the coaches or the supporting cast because its failing.
  20. In 2021 the AFC East stunk. At one point MIA and NYJ were both like 1-7. Nobody took NE as a serious threat.
  21. Offseason failure year after year. We try random rb's,. random wr's, random OL. So many on this board always want to buy the hype - our RB is the best ever, nevermind Cook has never been an every down back at any level, Murray, Fourette and whoever are just retreads that could be sitting on a couch if not on the Bills. Our WR's are the same, Harty had a year 5 years ago almost as good as McK average year and its a huge upgrade? Sherfield is an upgrade? Our rookie TE catches a 2 yard dump off 5x a game and its elite and unstoppable? Maybe the coaches actually buy this nonsense too and then we spend our resources on a ton of defensive players.
