  1. NFL - The 32nd team could be the best team on any given Sunday. That does not mean they are top 5. The Bills should be clearly not a top 5 team at this point. Top 16 is a stretch.
  2. Well preseason does not mean a whole lot. Peterman 1 Int in 120 passes in preseason. 12 Int in 130 passes in regular season.
  3. Watch out NFL...here come the Buffalo Bills running Singletary and Wade behind two TE and a FB. Maybe we can beat some of the leather helmet teams.
  4. Do I really need to say this - this was not an NFL game. The 5 TD's was part of practice stats. Portions of those plays are where you want a TD on nearly every pass. So its all relative. Some other guy could have been 17-19 for 109 yds and 13 TD's, so yes 5 TD's could be a negative...in practice.
  5. Disagree. On offense - The QB, RB, OL and TE were all carryovers. The guys the new regime tried were all failures - Peterman, KB, Matthews, Z Jones, etc did not help this team. On Defense - The additions of Poyer and Hyde were positive as was rookie Tre White eventually. But again, much of the core was the same - williams, hughes, p brown, l alexander...
  6. Here is what is ironic. We want to give the McBeane team credit for making the playoffs in year one. Then we want say year two was supposed to be terrible and they had to get rid of all the terrible players. That means year one and the playoffs was not part of McBeane's plans because they did not want those guys. In my book the prior regime gets more credit for that roster and they had some luck sneaking in the playoffs. If this is not a playoff team within a couple years this regime is a failure.
  7. People on both sides look for anything to prove theei point. Look how fast we got out of cap hell - amazing job Beane. Nevermind Beane did help create the cap hell by wanting his guys only. Who is right? The team was better record wise before many of the cuts. Cant ignore this was a bad team last year that got worse. This year will be telling to see if they are better. Guess what, if not and the team sucks again...we could easily be in cap hell again. Cutting guys like Hughes, Star, Morse, and more could easily add up to $40M+ in dead cap.

  10. Allen showed promise because of his running ability and status as a rookie 1st round draft pick. If his exact play last season was with Tyrod as QB people would be running him out of town. I am all in on the Allen era...but there is still a lot to be desired. His running is what made his 2nd half look so good and that is not sustainable or desired in your franchise QB. Its a nice bonus to have but should not be the strongest quality. Look at Allen's last 6 games after his injury - less than 50% completion in 2 of 6, multiple picks in 3 of 6, avg about 200 yds per game. Yes exciting to watch but reality check was this was not the QB play we want or need in the long run. He has got to get better.
  11. Look at Streater 2012-2013 seasons...better than Cole Beasley and similar to John Brown numbers. Kelvin B had better numbers than any of them. So on paper maybe that what turned out to be crappy crew was better. I dont think so but point is that until they play who knows. They are still somewhat questions marks, not like we brought in a A Brown, J Jones, etc.

  13. We have to see how he is used but... His high during three years of college was 5.5. Donald had 11 twice in college.
  14. And when your cap hurting you need to make even better decisions not worse. Such as wasting a few million on a WR you cut a week later, as just one example.
  15. In addition A Boldin...signed then retired rather than play. The argument that gambles dont really matter or this guy was cheap so who cares doesnt hold water. It is all part of the roster building process. The team expects a contribution from that player so either does not sign another player or spends the saved money elsewhere etc. The plan did not work regardless of the money associated. That is a failed attempt to fill the position with the guys they expected could do it.

  17. Two years left on his deal. Get him for those two years - we have the cap room. If he is healthy then our OL is significantly better for the next two years. He can mentor Cody Ford w the Okie connection.
  18. Multiple sources have reported they were not drafting a WR period. Did not see it as a big priority and like the group they have. Its hard to argue this group has made good decisions on the offensive side of the ball. The way QB has been handled for two years has been bad. From Tyrod to putting in Peterman. To then Starting Peterman again and having no back up plan. The OL has been a mess. Going forward its all about Allen and helping him succeed. If Allen regresses this year then this FO could be in trouble.
  19. On that 2015 roster guys recently drafted by Bills that are NFL starter quality. Offense Watkins Woods Glenn Henderson Wood Miller Goodwin Def Dareus Brown Bradham Darby Gilmore Brooks McKelvin A Williams
  20. True to some extent. However, there is a big difference between good starter and starter. Many drafted guys start because teams suck at that position. That is much different than drafting a long term starter.
  21. When has Tyree ever played RB, WR or TE? The guy didnt even get drafted at QB which was the position he did play. Now he is going to be NFL caliber at multiple positions?
  22. Your answer has some truth. But dont use Gronk as the example. Gronk is nothing like a Lee Smith. The modern NFL is moving towards Gronk types and away from Lee Smith types.
  23. FYI With Lee Smith the Raiders were ranked in the bottom of the league in rushing. 2018 - 25th 2017 - 25th 2015 - 28th Funny enough, he only played in 4 games in 2016 and they finished 6th that year. His last year with the Bills in 2014 they were 25th. After he left the next year they were #1. I only say this to temper the this is how we become a top 5 rushing team.
