I don't love the Butler pick for my own reasons, but the trade down seems like a reasonable deal. The only problem is that I doubt the Panthers move up. It would be a matter of asking if a Ferrell/Polite type player is worth that much more than a Burns/Sweat. There's so much edge talent at the top of this draft that someone will fall to them. The only reason to trade up is if they're absolutely in love with a certain guy, but my guess would be that that would mean a drop of an Allen or such and then I would expect us to take him.

I agree with the prevailing thought about the Amazon HQ, but it was true that the Governors of both NY and VA (damn if those dumbasses cant stay out of the press) gave a hugeeeee number of questionable tax breaks/perks to amazon. I understand the outrage about that, but the left would have been upset either way.

I caught flak on here last year for insisting that Denver wasn't going QB in the first. I turned out to be right. This year, I predict that they will. That's not true. The draft is for filling needs within the context of not over-drafting any one position based on need. BPA vs. Need is a stupid conversation because both get you in trouble. BPA = CJ Spiller and trading Marshawn Lynch. Need = Christian Ponder as a top ten draft pick. I thought the same thing... The only thing that could drop him that low would be a showing at the Combine that shows he isn't physically gifted.
