  1. Injury, uninspiring measurements, poor production (relative) last year (as a result of the injury), poor projection at the next level- not big enough to specialize in contested catches, not fast enough to be a deep threat/RAC target/ just overall not seen as a great prospect and the WR class is really rounding into form. I still think he could be a steal, but I doubt he is a 3rd round pick at this point. He does a lot of things well, but nothing great. If he's healthy in time for the UB pro-day (which should actually be a buzz event with him, Jackson, and Hodge) and he can run well he might be able to get back into the mid to late three range. Even if healthy, I wouldn't expect him to run very well. He isn't a straight-line speed guy. He's deceptively fast in game (granted, against weaker competition) but he isn't a burner by any means.
  2. I think he’s in danger of dropping into the 3rd/4th. With a bad combine, injury issues, small school, and the thigh WR group I think he’ll be hard pressed to crack the middle of the 4th. Maybe a pro-day can help him, but his stock is way down. He was seen as a top 20 pick before the start is the season.
  3. I wouldn’t love either at 9, but is take TJ first for 3 reasons. 1- helps the run game and the pass game. 2- the drop from a TJ to a Kaden Smith in the second round, vs the drop from a Metcalf to a Deboo Samuel etc is more problematic for me. 3- the agility times on Metcalf are scary for many reasons most of which (which is widely ignored around here) is that it shows that he dedicated all of his time to getting fast on the 40 and getting big on the bench. He’s tight. Hes not a fluid athlete right now. He’s a big, fast, strong guy who can do certain things well but who is not a wholistically athletic person. He’s not a “freak” imo because he didn’t perform well across the board. Guys dominate the big show events at the combine all the time only to show that they can’t play football.
  4. People need to not get caught up in the easily trained combine skills. Workout warriors happen all the time. Julio produced in college. Metcalf may be good, but he definitely isn’t a sure thing.
  5. Whatever teams are interested in trading for this guy really have to be wondering if he has lost his mind to the point that he won’t be a productive football player.
  6. This surprises nobody. Giants would make a lot of sense if they were willing to be done with Manning, but that seems unlikely. Maybe the Jags? Would you rather have Carr, or Foles?
  7. most on that route are serious route tacticians. Short area quickness is very important for creating seperation (crisp routes as well.). not to say this is specifically an indictment on Metcalf, but speed (40 time) is not as valuable as quickness (shuttles)
  8. I wouldn’t hate Metcalf, but I’m always hesitant about “shiny” over production. Honestly, it guys like Metcalf and Josh Jacobs, and Hockenson jump into the top ten and push a Josh Allen into our laps, I will be so happy.
  9. Run on QB’s started by Murray going one leads to the Skins moving up to 9, we take hock at 15.
  10. I like something closer to a sure thing when dealing with a top ten. (which I don't see at WR)
  11. That seems like a reckless comp. Johnson was seen as a sure thing. Metcalf is a much bigger question. Athleaticism doesn’t make a football player.
  12. Kyler Murray will meet with Cardinals at NFL Scouting Combine http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001020127/article/kyler-murray-will-meet-with-cardinals-at-nfl-scouting-combine Not sure if this has been posted yet or not...
  13. If we're looking for an offensive skill player in the first round, I wouldn't hate having Jacobs.
  14. I wouldn’t mind him on a prove it deal where’s he’s essentially a poorly paid 2/3.
  15. That example seems a bit of a stretch. Draft picks weren’t worth nearly as much then. I doubt Rosen would be worth anything higher than a 20-25 pick at very best. the problem is that he isn’t an unknown rookie. He has a season of tape (ugly, very bad, no good tape) and while that could definitely be an anomoly, in the back of the mind the question must be asked if that’s just who he is. If the trade happens, and I am half expecting it to, Look for them to get a second back for him. (Maybe the giants second, which is high.)
  16. What if Boogers boogermobile can come out of retirement and go back to it's former career as space ***** and take boomer with it?
  17. I was hoping Anthony Johnson would measure over 6'2 so my crush could be justified... Alas, it'll depend on the 40.
  18. This is cringeworthy. You don't go back to a career you're too old for because you sucked at your other career. This is Brett Favre level bad, (and I doubt Witten performs even as well as Favre did in his return(s))
  19. Meh, the cap space argument isn't all that important these days. Teams find ways.
  20. I disagree. There are people who lose their sight altogether and do not resort to suicide. This is a sad story no doubt, but the question must be asked if there are other factors that caused this. I would also be very curious to hear what treatment she sought about the issues she was having (both physically as a result of the surgery, and emotionally/mentally as a result of the pain.) I don't think either of the posters you quoted were indeed questioning her pain, but rather were pointing out that this in a vacuum does not seem like something that would drive a reasonable person to suicide. Furthermore, the article and the comments of the family seem to indicate (based entirely on my opinion alone) that some form of legal action may be taken against the provider who did the surgery. If that's the case, I expect much more to be discovered about this young woman and why this was ultimately what she saw as her only option.
  21. Sometimes I think this, and then sometimes I don't.. I really can't keep track of way Jones is supposed to play, and I don't much care for him anyways. It seems that the prototypical WR ideas are being busted here lately, but I don't know how to take that. Do we need a height guy? Do we need a possession guy? Do we need another speed guy? I don't see anyone in the draft who checks all the boxes and can run every route and make every play. Seperation is important, but at the pro level it needs to be done with more than just speed. Route running creates seperation at this level- speed helps. The knock on DK (at least some that I have seen, for what that's worth) is that he's unpolished and a sloppy route runner. I don't like that much.
  22. Yeah, I am fine being wrong, and I don't have as strong a feeling as I have about others in the past, but I really don't love Metcalf... I think he's a risk.
  23. The 1 for 1 comparisons that teams make to justify these guys being able to succeed eliminates the room for the human element. Tyreek Hill can play as a tiny guy, I'm sure Hollywood Brown can too. Completely leaves out the idea that Hill might be the 1 in a million exception. Same story for Murray and Wilson.
