Not sure what Trent Brown has done to deserve appointment to LT, even if we need to upgrade Dawkins (which I don't think we do). Long beating out Teller would be interesting, but we'll see. Love Paradis Dawkins would make more sense at LG I would think. Would rather Williams in FA over a top ten RT.

What's your off-season worst case scenario?
whatdrought replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We sign marginal talent at offensive line and wide receiver and then trade next years first to move up to 4 and take DK Metcalf (With Josh Allen still on the board). We barely spend any of our money and it's reported that we were outbid because Ralph is cheap. -
Is there an expensive piece on their team they could realistically send back for him? Malcom Jenkins, Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce, Fletcher Cox, Alshon Jeffery? I don't see them parting with any of those guys, but maybe Jeffery?.. I dunno. Also, If they were to trade Jeffery I would think the Jags would want to jump on that to keep he and Foles working together. #thingsithink

His 2.5m bonus is due on the 17th if I remember correctly. It seems obvious at this point that he's trying to get cut so he can go wherever he wants (the patriots would be my guess, maybe the browns) and the steelers are holding out hope of getting a good return instead of sinking their loses and moving him. This could get worse before it's over.

I have wondered that as well- He seems like the type we would target. The assumption with the Jets is that they're going to recklessly throw money around to make splashes and make sure they get who they want- that's the exact opposite of the Bills mentality so I could see us losing some guys to them. It sucks that our needs are so similar this year.

The safety market is full...

Not sure if there is a place for a thread like this or not, but if the Mods feel it needs to be closed please feel free. I just wanted a central place for non-specific things to be posted. I know we have threads about cuts and about AB and other topics, but there is (unless I missed it) no place for random tidbits that don't deserve their own thread. (such as below)

Bills have interest in Seattle DE Frank Clark

My understanding is that Jay is the first to break this and he didn't say anything about signing.. Either Vic got his wires crossed or he's just in a hurry to look like he knows something.. -

Good point. It's always a pain in the butt to try and see how player + picks trades really value out. I think they would believe him to be worth 9 overall, so they wouldn't want to give us back their 21. But 9+ 3 or 4 might get back clark and 21 -
conditional pick in 2021. lol I would be 100% shocked if this turned out to be real. In fact, if this turned out to be real I would sooner believe that it's the worlds biggest coincidence rather than that this guy got it right. The main guys probably will be real intentional to make sure all the T's are crossed and the I's are dotted before making any reports after last night. Jerks. I'm still salty.

Oh yeah! That's gonna be awesome. Guys like Dion Jones trying to taking a Mike Alstott. Meh, it is and it isn't. Really the reason that this evolution happens is the way the farm system (college) affects the NFL. It's even crazy looking all the way back to Pewee and little tykes... People complain about a lack of black QB's, but the young teams that I've helped coach have always had white QB's cause the black kids are typically much better athletes and are wasted at QB when the QB does nothing. That trend goes all the way through College. It's such a waterfall thing.

I think the change in pass rushers is really interesting cause I wonder if it will swing back the other way. 5 years ago it was all about the edge and about getting a LT that can block the edge. Well, that caused people to look for inside rushers and now the counter is the revaluing of Guards (imagine a guard going top 10 5-10 years ago). It's literally trench warfare. They make strides on the inside, you defend the inside. They go to the outside, you go back to the outside. I agree about it being interesting. It's crazy to see how these trends go.
