We already got our Luke Kuechly. He goes by the predator. Seriously though, I don’t see spending a high pick on a linebacker that would lead to either a first round pick, or one of our best players from last year (Milano) only seeing the field about 60% of the time. If they didn’t like Edmunds at MLB they wouldn’t have put him there last year. Off ball Linebackers aren’t worth that much these days, no matter what the Jets say. If they were really wanting to mess with the LB core they could get a late round thumper like TJ Edwards or Khalil Hodge and put him in the middle for base packages, then do Matt and Tre for sub packages.

I am at the same time more and less okay with DK after what we have done on the market. More so because I think he could play a complimentary role to what we already have on offense. Less because WR is less of an immediate need now and I might just as soon have a Ed Oliver/Montez Sweat/etc and a Kelvin Harmon or JJ Arcega-Whiteside later in the draft.

Do they have a reason to trade Diggs? He’s paid and they’re trying to win now... Only reason I can think would be to free room so they can get Thielen extended.

He needs a prove it deal somewhere with good exposure and with an established pass rush so he can play clean up hitter.

I agree with the thought behind this post, but I think it’s innacurate to say Mario was a bad signing. He was a top 10 pass rusher for much of his time here, and he was a main part of a top 5 defensive line for the Schwartz years. And Rex was hired by the Pegulas. I agree that we’re headed in the right direction.

I’ve never really understood how offensive linemen wash out of the NFL after being so good i college.. of all the positions that’s seem like they should be easy transitions, OL seems relatively straightforward.

That makes a lot of sense to me. Keeps them from having to waste the OBJ pick on a receiver.
