  1. I hear you. I want to go chips all in since this administration has been different in every way, but I have been burned far too many times. I will be cautiously optimistic. If things were going to go bad, I still might expect us to win at least two of those three. The jets are going to be a mess from day one. I don't know who was in charge of remaking that team this year, but Gase and Williams has to be the worst possible pairing.
  2. Meanwhile, I just recreated Buscaglia's spreadsheet so I could make my own projections... In my defense, I'm a mega-nerd for excel.
  3. Or, keep training with him and accidentally drop the bar when spotting him?... I mean, both work.
  4. I wont fight you on any of that. I really hesitate to say anything record wise because it all comes down to Allen. If he stays healthy and makes a jump commiserate with his progression late last year, it's not crazy for me to see us as an 11 win team. The flip side is, I can see us being a 5 win team if he struggles or is hurt. So i'm mostly a shrug and let it happen right now.
  5. You're talking to the people who can make a big deal out of literally anything. We have no lives. That's why we're here. Coincidentally, you're here too. Also, I didn't care about this at all till I saw the high probability of the Thanksgiving game. I have wanted that forever. So I'm sure it wont happen.
  6. I'm seeing reports that dolphins are back to back in Metlife for weeks 14 and 15. Doubt they would have three straight road games.
  7. Doubt they do Eagles right after Giants, which probably means Bengals at home (just played the ravens early last year) for week 3.
  8. ? I would be so happy with this... I doubt it though...
  9. ' The first five minutes of me watching this was trying to figure out what it was... The following 20 minutes of me watching was just pure amusement. I'm rarely titillated, but this did the trick. No idea why.
  10. Bills coming in at 7-2, first place in the East. Browns at 8-1, first place in the AFC. Flex game for home field...........
  11. Except that it's not contract dispute problems. It's contract renewal problems. I don't have any problem with teams playing hardball with guys that hold out under contract. You sign it, you keep your word. You can ask for a raise, or a trade, and if they say no, they say no. The flip side of that is that the way the franchise tag exists now is part of the process that player agree to so I have limited sympathy for them when dealing with it now. I just don't like the heart of the issue which is that when the good faith contract expires, the team has a way of compelling the person to stay against their will. It's a massive bargaining chip for the team which leads to a lot of teams not even trying to work on deals for franchised players (which seems against the nature of the tag in the first place) Right now a franchised player (correct me if I am wrong) can be signed away for two first round draft picks. That's a ridiculous price to pay, and I think the team gets a chance to match anyway. There's maybe 5 players worth that bounty in the NFL so teams are confident in their ability to franchise with limited risk of losing the player. Nobody is going to fork over two first for Jadaveon Clowney. If it was one first and a removal of the right to match (make it so the player can chose which offer he prefers) then I think teams will think twice about putting the tag on low A to B level stars. I think it really comes down to this for me. The teams rights to a player should expire when the agreed upon contract expires. The franchise tag seems to give an additional right to the team over that player that doesn't seem fair to me. The above solution would still give the team some reward (a first round pick) but would increase the players freedom. Also, this would make teams work harder to meet their players at the negotiation table as it would remove the safety net of the tag. My 2.0 pennies.
  12. But three straight years of walking into the playoffs with two homefield games... Even if those games were to matter, they would have homefield advantage in them.
  13. I would love nothing more than to have Darnold throw 3 interceptions, and Allen throw 5 touchdowns. Obviously. Well this is shocking... As a Patriots beat writer, does typing something like this not at least cause you to wonder?...
  14. Jets have three primetime games. I put our over under at -2
  15. There was the same knock against Kamara coming out... Not to say they are same level, but lack of touches isn't necessarily a bad thing.
  16. It feels a little overdone, ala the rams of last year. We'll see how it turns out. As long as they don't inexplicably put the dolphins on primetime like 6 weeks in a row again. *vomits at the memory*
  17. Definitely truth to this, but I think the exposure it's gotten lately might have an effect.
  18. That's not nearly enough primetime games for them... Obviously.
  19. Well, I offered him 2-18 and 4-4 for 2-8. If that sounds reasonable to you and you want to accept that, so be it. (if he doesn't show up)
  20. How long has it been since we've been on Sunday night?
