  1. Oh I'm right there with you and don't disagree with that. The problem I see is that the bias is created because of the losing, and then everything with the team is associated with the bias. It creates for lazy journalism. The main takes are either "I'm gonna go against the grain and say the bills are going to do great, and I know this is gonna shock a lot of people" or "the bills just aren't gonna be good, and Josh Allen is a bad QB." meanwhile there is very little in the neutral of being willing to actively asses the players and the roster without bias and see what the team may or may not be capable of. I agree though. When we win, they will at least have to give us some air time. I also definitely think it's easier to dump on small market teams. I personally think 10 wins seem's realistic, but I wouldn't be shocked if we were anywhere from 6-12 wins. Allen is so much of a boom or bust guy that it could go either way.
  2. I think a lot of bills fans see it as a fluke, but also see it for what it is: a team that was coached above it's standard of talent. Now we have more talent. This conversation really comes down to what you think about Josh Allen. If you think he has the potential to grow, say 15-25% from his late season form, then it's hard to argue against this team being a playoff team. Most in the media, for whatever reason, dislike Allen to the point of arguing against his ability to succeed, while giving a free pass to Darnold and Rosen who also had very up and down rookie seasons. I don't know why there is such a disparity in treatment, and maybe it is well deserved cause of our years of futility, but I do know that I have never been a bills fan in a world where the media at large did not write off the Bills out of hand... Again, probably deserved to some degree. Can anyone who was around during the glory days speak to how the media treated the Bills back in day?
  3. I mean, they were all taken in the first round...Can first rounders be "steals"? I think they will be the core of this team, but if we turn into a perennial competitor, the steals will be The safety duo we signed for next to nothing, Levi, Milano, Dawkins, Singletary, Foster, and other lower expectation guys who will likely ball out to make us a success. Not to bust your chops needlessly, just splitting hairs.
  4. Robin Thicke for Superbowl halftime show or I quit.
  5. You're right. I will stop trying to be a tough guy. Obviously people who act superior on a message board are major #######s... If I see any I'll let you know. I'm done with this diversion, go re-read all of my posts in this thread and if you still can't understand my points without trying to deflect and change the subject, try some in depth reading material to sharpen your comprehension skills:
  6. Not to fan the flame of this thread, but someone on the Training Camp thread saw this and mentioned Clowney...
  7. I can never tell if "Play's with and edge" and other such comments just mean the guys intense, or if he's just a Richard...
  8. Okay, right... I’m not getting into all of that, and I think we would agree on some things and disagree on others, but my point was merely that you personally stated that folks like Jim brown represent athletes that also take stands (no pun intended) and I was showing that, while that’s true, he has a different view on how to handle some things over what is common now, and over what I imagine would be Jay-Z’s side of the spectrum.
  9. Oh look, the thoughtful observer has found something else to argue about. Don’t pretend to know my motives, you’ll end up looking like a schmuck. I mentioned Jim brown because the poster I was responding to did first. The kneeling issue isn’t at hand, I merely used the article to reference Brown’s view on athletes protesting. Again, based on context. And as far as the domestic abuse situation goes- 2 things 1- nice job changing the subject for no reason, it really goes well with your all too familiar schtick as a pot stirrer. 2- I have every problem with scum like that in the NFL, and if you’re implying that I don’t (while labeling me a “false patriot”, if indeed you were lumping me in that group) I encourage you to take your bad, biased opinions and shove them back up your ass where you got them.
  10. Nothing wrong with players having causes and using their proper platforms for to change things they feel are important. That being said, there's a way to do it, and there's a way to not. A lot of what we see lately is empty posturing. You mentioned Jim Brown- his take on the kneeling situation (not to bring all that into this thread) is really illuminating-- Believe what you believe and strive for change, just do it the right ways. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2017/08/25/jim-brown-colin-kaepernick-i-dont-desecrate-my-flag-and-my-national-anthem/602349001/
  11. Remember that time Jay-Z's wife used the Superbowl halftime platform to pay homage to a radical terrorist organization? This is just ridiculous pandering by the NFL to demonstrate their wokeness.
  12. Which really shows Jay-Z to be a bit of a sellout.
  13. “Beth Man-Voice Mowins” as she’s lovingly known.
  14. The Texans are weak in three very severe areas that have kept them from continued success: Offensive Line, Secondary, and overall Depth. Make the QB a zero sum game, and let our O-line be at least 5% better than last year (and it's not that hard to argue that it will be by default) and you've got a team as good, or better than the Texans. Of course, the QB is the determining chip on the table. The biggest issue is the Depth. I think Pound for pound the bills are better equipped to deal with a non-QB injury than the texans.
  15. I actually say no. I think Clowney is probably a better player than Dawkins, but the positional value for our team at the moment isn't worth it. I'd do a second rounder before I sent them an OL.
  16. Zierlien is a heavy hitter, this definitely lends some credibility to the conversation...
  17. Jim Irsay really does a good job rivaling Jerry Jones for most annoying owner.
  18. Dishonor. Dishonor on you. Dishonor on your family. Dishonor on your cow!
  19. The dolphins trading their one good offensive lineman would be pretty funny.
