I care so little about fantasy. Either my team will be great and I'll put forth some effort, or I'll give up by week 3.

Zay Jones’ Dad - an “Interesting” follow

That's what's so infuriating. He could be much better than he is. Hopefully he does take a step. Fair enough. -
Zay Jones’ Dad - an “Interesting” follow

Ah- it looks like the difference is how they rank ties- I was looking here: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2018/scoring.htm ( I think your source is better, as that seems like a better way to handle ties.) That being said, I think you have some solid points and I admit I was being pretty hyperbolic. I don't think he's done all that much to warrant his father's big attitude, but I also don't think parents of players should be running their mouth at all. That being said, Zay is infuriating because he is not nearly as good as he could be, if not for drops and seemingly other mental miscues. -

21st, actually - in receiving. Not even in total TD's. (he's 41st in the league for total TD's scored) And as far as Zay goes, worthless might be harsh, but he hasn't performed at the level of a 2nd round pick, he has consistently killed momentum and the team with drops, and he hasn't done nearly enough to warrant his father acting like he's a big deal. -

I meant that he is the parent of a worthless player... -
I was being sarcastic. I think it missed the mark.

Patriots starting center hospitalized
whatdrought replied to tomur67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hope all goes well for him. I don't mind the Patriots losing a valuable piece, but I hate to see someone deal with a serious condition like this. Watch them flip a 4th rounder to the Bengals for Billy Price who just got benched, and him turn into an all-pro. -
But Bill O’Brian is a genius! He spent several years shakin it for the other Bill, so he must know exactly what he’s doing— give him all the power. Thats a valid point... seems like a pretty straight forward thing to me- count how many times his hand was on the ground at the snap/when it wasn’t, there’s your answer.

Man... I thought worthless players talking ***** was bad... it’s even worse when a worthless players parents talk *****. can someone make a super cut of all the easy drops Zay’s had in the past two years, mixed in with him trying to jump out a window naked, and send it to this guy... -
At first I disagreed with this completely... and then with thought I disagreed with it less.. and now I think I agree with it as much, or maybe a bit more than I disagree... my issue is that it seems almost impossible to separate them from each other...

Go tell your boss tomorrow that his business wouldn’t exist without you and you demand a raise. Wait... go get a job, then try it. peace.

I want to walk a fine line because I don’t want to see this thread get locked, but two things: 1- the league wouldn’t exist without the owners- past, current, or future. They create the league every day they keep it running. 2- don’t step to someone and say “I only read half of your argument, but omg you’re so wrong.” It looks dumb. That is all.

Well, I disagree, obviously. I think the idea of higher education is sound- education of a high nature. I think the manifestation of it in America today is abhorrent. I’m honored that you even knew who I was.

Right. And that’s exactly how it should work. It’s a symbiotic relationship. Players want to make obscene amounts of money playing football, but they need teams to play on. Owners want to make obscene amounts of money by selling a product, but they need players to create the product. So it’s about who compromises where.

Good reason to not let your kids play football
whatdrought replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But how old were the kids?... -
The players are welcome to ask for as much as they want. The owners will pay what they want. It’s called the free market.
