Personally, If i'm having to play a contract year on the tag, I'd rather play on a stacked defense and a team that is gonna get national hype like the Texans. He's probably worried that he'll play it out in Houston and they'll tag him again and flip him wherever they want. I wouldn't trust B.O.B not to be a d-bag.

I get it, and I am totally fine either way. I see both sides of it. But when we look at the top four spots on our chart at DE right now, we see 15 total sacks last year (obviously Johnson had 0) which averages to just under 4 each. Clowney had 9 last year. So while I get why there's plenty of reason not to spend capital on him, I also think there are some good reasons to do just that.

I love Johnson, I think he can be special. That being said, I don't think you put your eggs in the basket of a 7th rounder and pass on a good/great player if he's there for the taking.

True enough. Why would Miami send resources away to get a guy who doesn’t want to play there? What, a season of going 4-12 is gonna encourage him to sign a long term deal?

The worst thing he can do is let his rights be given to a team that he doesn’t want to play for... at this point if he’s gonna hold out, he’s gotta stay committed.
