Under 100 different circumstances depending on the play call... Free releases happen all the time, especially with TE's. He ran out into a route, and it's possible that his progression called for a chip, but it's just as likely that he wasn't supposed to chip the end.

It's hard to say what he was supposed to do in that situation.

Well he's got a ton of ground to make up for, cause he sucked pretty hard up until now... I won't argue that he's a top 10 talent, I've always felt that his issues went beyond health though. He just doesn't seem like the type who can dominate (except in occasional flashes) maybe he's turned a page (him and John Ross in Cin apparently!) but he's yet to live up to his potential, and he hasn't always been hurt.

Exactly. You always want Gore getting 1.5x the carries that Singletary gets. He's meant to bruise the defense, and make them sell out for physicality so that Singletary being savant gets them off guard.

While I don't like him dropping the best throw of Allen's day, It doesn't worry me. The team played with some rust, as expected. But we'll get there.
