  1. Lol. I mean, yeah. Let’s completely ignore last year where shower quite a bit of promise...
  2. The biggest issue this poses to us bills fans is that it creates a precedent for trading franchise QB's in conference, which I was hoping teams wouldn't be dumb enough to do...
  3. I guess we'll see. It's McVey betting on himself and it could go either way. I tend to think Stafford is a better QB than Goff, and that in that system he will do well... That being said, McVey had at least some hand in giving Goff that crazy money... So he is not unimpeachable in his QB decision making process. Time will tell. I think they paid too much, but they paid a lot to get rid of Goff, and they got hamstrung by not offering a 2021 first rounder. If this is a straight Stafford for a first and second, or two firsts, it looks a lot better right now.
  4. This. It is widely thought - and I agree with this to an extent - that McVey has coaxed Goff into being a just average QB. The idea behind the trade is that the offenses ceiling blows up with a QB capable of being good beyond the system and coaching.
  5. I dunno, but it would improve my "Tyrod Taylor will be the starting QB for the Lions in week one" prop bet.
  6. I thought the idea was to be a bad boy but a good man?... Has Tim McGraw been lying to me agin?...
  7. I reject the hypothesis that Tua should be seen as anything but a mid-second round pick on a value chart. This is interesting: League usually goes out of their way to avoid posting/announcing anything that isn't officially official. Doesn't matter, but it's an interesting shift.
  8. Did someone tell this to Beane? I doubt he's realized that having a player like the best RB in the league would help us...
  9. I agree. I think they make a ton of sense and seeing a division with Wilson Watson Stafford Murray would be amazing...
  10. Jared Goff: "Thank god 2020 is over. Really looking forward to 2021 being a better year for me!" 2021:
  11. Being the smartest kid on the block made that pretty easy as well.
  12. Relatively speaking, it was. - Trade back and get a all-pro CB in the process. - Trade an injury prone OL who didn't have a spot on your club to move up. - Trade two seconds to jump up again.
  13. Let's all take a minute to appreciate the chess master that is Beane and how relatively easy it was for him to get our franchise QB...
  14. I kinda have this thought that there are two logical reasons not to trade Watson to the AFC East. 1. Trading a top five QB into the conference and having to play him regularly/seeing him the playoffs is just stupid. 2. Trading for either the 2 or 3 pick demands taking a QB with that pick... Unless you're in love with one of them, why create a "This guy is Desaun's replacement" conversation? Better, I think, to get a package that includes many 1sts and a vet who can play (Garapalo, Bridgewater, etc.) and then aim for the QB down the road with the increased capital. Since logic has no place in this conversation, I am sure both of these things will be promptly ignored.
  15. This is what i immediately thought. Between taking Goff and not getting a first this year the relative value of this is probably closer to 1 first and 1 second.
  16. I think it's an interesting microscope on the question of how much a QB's surroundings matter... Stafford has (with the exception of a couple good receivers) by and large been in a terrible situation his entire career and has still managed to be a borderline top 10 QB... Goff has been in a great situation and has played poorly for the majority of it - especially since the SB. I think we'll see what really matters, but I agree... The price is ridiculous. It's hard to imagine that being the market rate, which really makes me think McVey was just completely done with Goff and willing to pay to be rid of him - this is a tidy way to handle it. Glad stafford isn't coming to the AFC.
  17. This is McVey saying that he's completely carried Goff all this way and that he can make things happen with a capable QB... we'll see...
  18. The idea here is that any goodness Goff ever had was completely based on McVey and the system... Which, if true, is scary as we know that Stafford is pretty good - even in a garbage system and bad cast around him...
  19. Did you watch that Superbowl? Dang that's a lot... Feels like they were partially paying the Lions to take Goff...
  20. I meant Tyreek Hill. the issue is that there really isn’t a reason to punish him unless he’s in the league / a team has interest in bringing him back into the league. I doubt either of those happen so to say “you punished these guys who are still in the league, but not this guy whose not” is just dumb.
  21. Yeah.. I don't get the complaint. According to the article I posted (By Florio, so it's very possible he's making it up - cause he's an idiot) there are players who want to see if he's punished like black players have been... To me that goes this way: "Ay commish! Why aren't you punishing this white guy who was a below average football player and will never ever sign with another team when you punished this black guy about to play in the SB for threatening his girlfriend who he had previously beat all to hell?" It seems pretty stupid.
  22. If proven true he should be gone gone. Not enough punishment for something like this. A random side note to this is that its somehow being turned into a race issue, with people saying the league is going easy on him cause they haven't punished him at all. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/01/30/players-still-want-nfl-to-take-action-against-chad-wheeler/ Not sure how much that makes sense given the context, but there it is. I guess everything can be made about race nowadays.
