  1. Fans who watch a couple games a year and see "second round pick traded for 5th round pick."
  2. I wouldn't hate that trade at all, I was referring to the idea of going all in. That being said, like many have said, Green is a risky business because of his history and his current injury status.
  3. I understand that that's the idea now, that you have to win before you pay your QB. There's two big issues with that- one, nobody has actually done it unless you count the Seahawks, but they didn't do the "go for broke" approach, they just built a great team. Second issue is that the new CBA will, in some way or another, eliminate this issue. As for the age of our roster, that's exactly why we can't be overpaying for limited resources. This FO has done a great job identifying depth and talent. They're going to keep building. Teams that shoot to win quickly usually fail, whereas teams that continue to build depth and build a solid team from top to bottom are consistent contenders. Winning the superbowl is about 75% of being a great team, and 25% being lucky (from injuries, to bad calls, to every little thing that goes on in a 16 week season)- the recipe for success is sustained years of being a good team and contending each and every year.
  4. I don't believe in "going for it all" as an excuse to overpay or make silly trades. Last year is a great example of that. The rams became the hip team by blowing the doors off and going for broke. It worked, for sure, but they get to the superbowl and get humiliated by the team that never does anything other than build football teams their way. We're young, we have a ton of cap space going forward, we've got a ton of draft capital, and we've got a FO with a great track record. We're opening a SB door, not a window. If Allen is the guy, we'll be in the conversation for the next 10 years at this rate. I wouldn't mind adding pieces, but don't ever overpay.
  5. Maybe they want to draw attention to the long term negative effects of football... Specifically, you might end up like this ######.
  6. I hope he was only half serious about his 16-0 prediction, but losing to Jacoby Brisset has to hurt. Just wait bud, still time for ol' Andy to steal your heart when it matters the most.
  7. I think the Packers are going to be the Superbowl team in the NFC. They're playing really balanced football right now, the Defense is more than capable, and Aaron Rodgers has yet to really have to do anything.
  8. Welp. Looks like i'll be suffering through Boomer Esiason and Phil Simms from now on...
  9. Yuck. Why on earth would they add gronk to that lineup. They have Gonzo who they rarely use and is really good.
  10. Is he a franchise QB? If so, is he the future in a post Brees Nawlins?
  11. this could happen, and if it does I fully expect there to be a large contingent of "beane doesn't know what he's doing with WR's" posters on this board. That being said, sometimes players just don't work one place and they do the next. It's usually as much on the player as it is on the team.
  12. 5 weeks, just over a quarter of the way through the season, is a decent time to start really seeing how the NFL is shaping up in 2019. What are your non-bills thoughts through 5 so far? Whose your pretenders and contenders, who do you see winning MVP? Whose been the biggest surprise (positive or negative)? What's a counter-narrative thought you had before the season that so far seems true or false (i.e.: the Browns being overhyped). I got to thinking about this as a result of watching the highlights of last nights game and being left wondering if the 9ers might be a legit contender this year...?
  13. Top five for me are easy: Pats Chiefs Bills Texans Colts After that it's kind of a toss up for me between the Raiders and the Ravens. - I can't tell if I trust Lamar less, or Gruden less... That being said, the AFC west imploded at just the right time for the Raiders.
  14. Ray was a late round edge rusher I was interested in in the draft, so thats nice. Don't care too much about Perry... I like how Yeldon has done in spots so far (minus the fumble) so i'm fine not adding functional depth- as long as singletary is coming back soon.
  15. I don’t dislike Zay as a person, but he certainly never found his niche here... he was a possession receiver who couldn’t catch, a deep ball artist who wasnt fast enough and couldn’t track the ball, a physical receiver who didn’t know how to use his body to make contested catches. If Duke continues to thrive we have a much more balanced attack.
  16. Bills flirt with trade for Antonio Brown to replace middling receiver core led by Zay Jones. —> Brown snubs Bills. —> Raiders trade 3rd and 5th rd pick for Brown. —> Brown is mentally insane. —> Brown gets cut from Raiders because he’s mentally insane. —> Bills greatly improve receiver core without Antonio Brown rendering Zay Jones expendable. —> Bills trade Jones to Raiders for 5th round pick. —> Bills get 5th round pick and avoid massive headache in the form of toddler-in-adult body (an insult to toddlers everywhere) while fixing recieving core. —> Raiders trade a 3rd and 2 5ths for Zay Jones. —> Antonio Brown sets catch record for most completed unemployment checks caught by one #######.
  17. Maybe I’m naive, but wouldn’t Allen be perfect for a run-first team? Establish the run, then use Allen with play action boot legs where you isolate half the field and let him scramble if the end drops contain. I just feel like this and the small game stuff with Beasley mixed with the middle stuff to Brown would really help him thrive.
  18. I mean, our kick returner got more snaps on offense than Zay did... I think they're probably comfortable making whatever Zay related move they're going to right now.
  19. If he wants to get paid what a rotational player is worth, great. If he wants starter money, buh bye.
  20. I would prefer they run the ball and win a nice, short game 21-0 rather than Allen dropping back a bunch. We don't need a 300 yard passer if we're winning. Guys get 300 yards when they're in shootouts.
  21. I've always been meh on Darnold, and I prefer him to bust for anti-jets reasons, but i do wonder how difficult coming back from this kind of debacle will be... this is the kind of thing you hear about ruining guys careers.
  22. Originally we were going to charge you something to come over here officially, but this misery is too much and you seem like a nice guy. If you will publicly deny all things Jets and change your username to "samdarnoldgotmonofromallama" we will welcome you with open arms into the mafia. There are some exceptions where the one and done thing is actually better for the long term health of a team... Gase is cancer. They need to own that they made the mistake taking him, and then move on to a real NFL coach.
  23. Bills are shoe in for a 9-10 win team with this schedule and the way Allen is playing right now. If he improves his play by even 20% (which he's shown he's more than capable to do) then we're quickly a 11-12 win team.
  24. I think the idea that the Bills are still behind the Chiefs and the Pats makes sense, but his logic on that did seem flawed as we just saw each of those teams held to low point games (including against the Bills.) What Brandt said "they aren't in the same breath- they lost that right when Josh Allen came out and started throwing ints everywhere" stung to hear but that's I think a very fair assessment. I think if he shows he can control the ball and the defense continues as it has, then we're there with them.
