Postgame: Dolphins 21 at Bills 31
whatdrought replied to Do The Reich Thing's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do wonder if the bills were to win the Super Bowl, how man on here would be throwing down with their “well, they didn’t play perfectly” or “it shouldn’t have been so close” or “Allen missed some throws” -

All teams have bad days. Good teams win anyways. Bad teams (even historically bad) play spunky and catch good teams off balance. I would have preferred they blow them out, but at the end of the day, talent wins. -

Man, I was hoping Foster would be active. -
100 Greatest Players in NFL History (2 x Bills so far)

I agree that the what if could be pushing my feelings. I think he does deserve to be on the list and where he is because when you do a list that crosses eras like this, you have to rely on individual talent. He was one of the most talented football players of all time. -

Best player talent- maybe not production wise, but talent wise. Hence he’s in the hall of fame. He had such a skill set, such an ability, that what he did in a short time was so crazy that it showed him to be one of the best to ever play. He scored a touchdown for 82% of games he played in. (Meaning touchdowns divided by games played) That’s higher than Peyton, higher then Emmit Smith, higher than Barry Sanders. The only ones I found that were higher were LT (95% which is insane) and Jim Brown (upper 90’s as well) I’m saying that playing the what if game, if sayers had never dealt with injuries, he would be remembered as the greatest. That’s my opinion, you can disagree, but I think you’re ignoring just how great he was in the little time he played. -

Not sure how longevity should factor in- if Sayers plays even as little as 8 years, he’s the greatest player in NFL history, no doubt. He and Bo Jackson are the two great “what if”s of NFL lore. -

Im not ready to concede the division. We can beat the Jets and the Pats. The division is there for the taking, and if the jets hit the Pats we’re one step closer. -

I don’t think Mosley changes that game at all. We just figured out how to stop making mistakes. I’m tired of hearing about darnolds mono. Either he did, and they played him with a very dangerous disease and the entire organization is more of a joke than before, or he didn’t and they figured - hey, might as well make this ***** start excusable. If this defense made Tom Brady look like Sam Darnold with supposed mono, then Sam Darnold with Mono would have been outright killed by this defense. -
QB Grades Through Week 6 Per PFF

Based on this list, we’re trading Allen for Marcus Mariota straight up. Major coup for Beane. Allen hasn’t been perfect, but I must be missing something that dictates he’s bottom 5 in the league while Baker Mayfield is top 15... -

Wasn’t Vic Fangio supposed to be a top 3 defensive mind in the NFL? -

Mariota in Reid’s offense with that talent is an intriguing idea.... what would the price be for him, I wonder? -

What possible excuse is there for giving up 7 sacks in 35 minutes to a terrible defense? -
The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, or some bull####. Lets squish the fish, then we’ll worry about plucking the birds. Then we can skin the skins, flush the Browns, resquish the fish, and tame the Broncos. i meant this post to be all about 1 game at a time, but then I got into victory phrases and got carried away...

I wouldn't hate Foster getting some extra reps if he's good to go- gotta break the cobwebs loose. Also, not to jinx anything, but we ought to be able to lose a couple of starters and still win this game. -

Probably slightly hopeful nothing else was coming off the body... Also, not that he should have been, but I've always been amazed that the Secret Service didn't just shoot this guy as soon as he started the first throw... Kinda crazy to think about how much time he had to get two shots at it. -

Politics completely aside, you have to be impressed with how Bush handled that and how amused he looks.
