  1. No no no... Allen has played almost a full year and a half and he's still not perfect. He's a bust. We should have traded up for Mayfield. Or for Darnold. We should have taken Right Josh. Tank for Tua! Lose for Lawrence! Trade for Cam! Allen suks.
  2. He's played what, 20 games now? This is the guy who was recognized as the biggest project in that draft class (except for Lamar who is a different breed) and was said to need several years to develop but so far this year has looked like the best of the lot (again excluding lamar). This is the guy whose shown consistent growth in some of his biggest weaknesses from year one to year two. This is the guy whose playing with an offense that has no identity and no balance and being asked to throw the ball 41 times against one of the worst run defenses in the league. This is the guy whose put the team on his back several times to win games this year (with our 6-3 record) and even put us in position to win this game twice. You're not wrong that he needs to improve. Your timeline is classic bills fan though.
  3. Using the Ghost thing is just lazy and completely inaccurate... Allen didn't come anywhere damn near the ***** show that Darnold displayed during the ghost game.
  4. Missed in the "Allen can't hit the deep ball" argument is two things: We have seen him hit those passes before, both in college and last year, and this offense is creating opportunities for it. At some point, he's going to connect- and then he's going to continue connecting. My one complaint with Allen, and I don't even know if complaint is the right word- more like slight concern, is that he's a very emotional player. When he's up he's up, and when he's down he's down. It's the old school gunslinger mentality. That being said, once he gets that monkey off his back, watch out.
  5. Any crap about TT and Allen being similar ends with three words: Third and Long.
  6. The next four for the Pats is brutal. I could see them losing anywhere from 0-4 of them.
  7. Consider the improvement our offense made from early last year to late. Now add in the fact that we have much much better talent across the board. I think it’s Possible. Not holding my breath, but I wouldn’t be shocked.
  8. He had some nice throws for sure, I was surprised cause I’ve only heard negative things about him. The whole offense is just compressed and vanilla and according to some he can’t handle pressure worth a damn. It doesn’t help that they can’t run at all.
  9. It still seems to me that we run a lot of deep routes against blitz heavy packages... this was a complaint I had last year, and this year we seemed to change some of that initially, but it looks to me like we’re back to it... Allen definitely needs to improve his quickness on reads, not to mention recognizing where blitz is coming from, but it seems like a lot of times there’s nobody to throw to before the pocket is obliterated. Anyone seeing that as well?
  10. No. He’s not. He’s running a training wheels offense that is statistically one of the worst in the league. Go listen to the recap pod on ATN. They spoke pretty candidly about how he’s performing.
  11. Dolphins, Broncos, Jets. That’s 9. Steelers defense is good, but their offense is very average. I like our chances with that one. That’s 10. Ravens, Cowboys, Patriots are three games we should lose. Teams win games they should lose all the time. Ask KC and NO about that. Im not saying it’s likely we’ll be 11-5. I still think we will be, but I don’t have any concrete evience that we will.... that being said, it’s silly to say it’d be crazy for us to hit 11-5. We’ve got 7 games left and we need one W to beat the pre-season odds. Looking ahead at schedules is pretty worthless.
  12. Which really makes you wonder what happens if our defense keeps playing with low % but our offense finds itself. Could be good. Could never happen, but could be really good.
  13. That or trust the offense to get the win, which didn’t work. The bigger issue is that Jimmy G looked like hot garbage on a couple clutch drives.
  14. No, it would be a passing play. The rule was correctly inforced yesterday. It’s a dumb rule, but it was called correctly.
  15. Yup. The problem is that training wheels josh is the worst version of josh. I’ll take the interceptions over conservative bs. Let him grow and learn. Don’t clip his wings.
  16. That makes it sound like Daboll called for the huddle and McD didn’t like that. either way, a stupid situation that looked bad all around.
  17. For what it’s worth- the only reason i’d be fine with him being back next year is that he does create some great plays... that being said, he needs to show improvement on the situational play calling or else I’m not gonna want him around next year.
  18. I know there’s a hundred Daboll threads, not sure if this is the right one for this- but does anyone wonder if Daboll might be really really good as an OC if only he could keep himself grounded? When you look at the raw film there are some incredible concepts and plays being put on tape, but situationally and rythmatically there seems to be a complete inability to function. He’s got amazing short passing route combos that he reserves for 1st and 2nd down. He’s got some good middle/deep passing combos as well which seem to be on his “only use on 3rd and short” list. It’s frustrating because I feel like at times the plays and execution are all there, and then we do something completely unnecessary.
  19. Good post. I think it was definitely a "air out of sails" moment that's hard to ignore, but we're either a good team that will use this as motivation to come back bigger and better, or we'll begin collapsing on our way to a mediocre season that will likely still be considered an improvement of where people expected us. The future is bright still, but losing games the other team is begging us to win definitely throws a cloud in the sky.
  20. I think he was just referring to Browns general abilities and strengths not being as a jump ball/50-50 ball guy. I think the play call was a little risky in that situation, but if it works and brown gets a TD, or gets to the 20 yard line, we're probably talking differently about it.
  21. Meh, it's probably not a logical thing I can defend worth anything.. Just the NFL as we know it, our season is missing a crazy "how the heck did that happen" win and I think we'll get it.
