  1. I missed it- why did that interception not count?
  2. Blough with a chance to really make a name for himself.
  3. It was still worth it, I think. Their problem is that they didn’t have the QB they thought they did. If Trubisky was the guy, it’d be fine. He’s not, so it’s problematic.
  4. Damn fine touch on the deep balls though...
  5. He seems to put a lot of effort into easy throws... but we’re used to watching JA. How did the Bears turn out to suck so bad?
  6. I am at a point of having no idea what to expect tomorrow. I’m offended at some National takes not giving us much of a chance, and I’m confused by local takes saying we’ve got it in the bag. Both of these teams have shown a great propensity for Jekyll and Hyde-ing and I’m not sure what’s going to happen. I think we have a real shot at it, and I’m gonna be glued to the screen. Go bills!
  7. It's very true. Unfortunately, many people don't care to address such things logically. The NFL has to look like they're not doing anything to prevent the future success of these guys, so if they create a non-school alternative (not that a farm system has to be that) that's going to be some push back, at least initially. That being said, I personally think it would be better all around as I've seen first hand how athletics can completely saturate a school and ruin the academic side of things, and this at the 2 year college level.
  8. For player safety I agree. As a consumer, I enjoy the Thursday night games. I watch maybe 7-10 of them a year and it's nice to have football another day of the week. Yeah, that is true. Nutrition and medical care (both restorative and preventative) were much less impactful then as well... I think the guys then had a lot of toughness, and there wasn't as much of a priority placed on player health, which we're seeing create a big issue for these guys later in life. My main point on that note is just that I think, while it's true that humans are bigger and faster, I don't think it removes any of the wear and tear and grit that those guys faced then.
  9. It would lead to a lot of players going right from HS to the pros, which would lead to a lot of scrutiny about the undermining of Colleges. I think that would be a bad look. Not sure how MLB does it though...
  10. Two things: 1- what about every other Thursday game? 2- The whole "players were slower and smaller" narrative is so overdone in general (not specifically calling you out). It's more less saying players now take more abuse than Bronco Nagurski and Dick Butkus did in their generation. it just doesn't measure up.
  11. Hard to justify investing in a farm system when the NCAA is gonna do it for them for free...
  12. How’s many do we have to force to skew their average and make them lose their record?
  13. Yup. So it’s really just a matter of different days each being more effective. Either way, the depth and versatility at OL this year, after last, is amazing.
  14. I have a sneaky suspicion that Feliciano > Morse at center. The problem is that Feliciano + Long = < Morse + Feliciano.
  15. Jerry's Headline: "Bills coach admits he can't ride horse. How this makes them a bottom 5 team."
  16. Not sure if already posted, but thought it was worth sharing... Good luck getting through this without feeling some emotions.
  17. I think my thought process of it is that coming just short of the SB leaves a "we've got more work to do, but we're on the cusp of making it happen. Time to grind." while getting embarrassed in the SB has a finality feeling to it. Obviously this can be overcome as well, but some things linger longer. I think of the Falcons and the Panthers. Both embarrassed in the SB, both have been up and down (though mostly down) since then. That being said, the Broncos got embarrassed in the SB and then got right back within a couple years, but that was with one of the greatest professionals to play the game at QB, and with a new coaching staff. I feel like it's easier to go into the next season after a close loss, rather than a blow out.
  18. Go look at Garoppolo try to beat Seattle when the chips were down and then come back here and tell us he's a top five young QB....
