  1. I don’t remember Sr. Playing with us, as it was before my time, but Jr. is becoming a favorite of mine. He plays the game well, and his trolling of Hill was one of the best non-bills things to happen on a football field this season.
  2. I think he will restructure/take a cut and be in that ball park. That’s the preference.
  3. Lombardi is a stooge. He went to a caricature stand and the artist just took a picture of him.
  4. meeting of the coalition of negative Nancy’s: Negative Nancy president: “well boys, the bills season is officially over. It was a very good season to remind everyone how much they suck. People think things like winning define a good sports experience, but we showed them. Now. What’s next?” Assistant to the negative Nancy: “well, the Sabres suck, but that feels like a dead horse. I am getting something about... hang on, let me check my notes.... ah yes. Female tennis. Something about unprecedented success on a world stage. I don’t think we really know anything about tennis, or females for that matter, but this the best we’ve got.” president: *rubbing hands together* “it’s perfect...”
  5. I want Watt so bad. He would just open so much up for Eddie...
  6. If we’re actually aiming for a Watt, I’d love to sign him - release Addison (or keep him, if we don’t need the money), and draft a big guy like Tyler Shelvin. Then maybe a developmental guy later. Watt played on a very bad defense and got a lot of attention, but still performed.
  7. I mean, I guess we’re into the weeds of what a “splash” is. the media and fans define splash as adding big names or being a part of a blockbuster. Diggs was both. I would imagine (based on my perception of what he said) that Beane cares not about that definition, but that he defines a splash as leveraging a large portion of our resources for one player- like we did for Diggs. So while a Watt signing for say 10m a year, would be a splash by the media and fan definition, in reality I think he’d just consider it good business. Same with trading a 5th or something for Ertz. News making moves, but not “splashes” in sense of leveraging capital. The breakdown for us, I think, is that we’re so used to our FO giving us ***** about “no splashy moves, building through the draft, developing our talent” and etc and it meaning they’re willing to sit back and scratch their ass’ while the rest of the league works to improve and then they’ll hold up a retread signee for 5 million dollars as a difference maker for us and say “we’re excited about the draft and that’s where our focus is!”
  8. I get that Watt would be a splash as far as media attention goes, but for what the contract would likely look like, I don’t know that Beane would consider that a splash. Lol at people pretending Watt is a negative locker room influence.
  9. Sign Watt, add someone like Jayon Brown in FA, draft Tyler Shelvin, and add some youth in the later rounds of the draft.
  10. Probably not till next weekend. Teams are still trying to get a feel for what to expect this year with tags and whatnot, so I don’t think anyone on any side is in a huge rush.
  11. Yep. If he wants one more multi-year payday, his best bet is to restructure here and try and rehab his value.
  12. He probably will take a cut for three reasons: 1- his value is low right now coming off a poor/injury riddled season. 2- The WR and Draft markets are absolutely loaded with WR talent this year. As it stands now, he’d have trouble cracking the top 10 of FA WR’s. (Obviously some will not hit the market) 3- The financials crunch the entire league is under means there isn’t much cheddar to go around. all of that to say, it we offer him a decent valued restructure he will likely take it as being here will be best for his value rebuilding.
  13. Nothing went over my head. Your response was entirely based on his overall performance and didn’t even engage with the conversation regarding position change. You aren’t talking at all about what I was posting about, but you’re trying to fit it into your idea that Watt is washed, which in of itself is a stupid argument.
  14. What he has in the tank is a completely different conversation than those that argue that he wouldn’t be a scheme fit going from a B gap player to a C gap player when he’s a phenomenal rusher from the B. Moving further out will likely only increase his efficacy, like Calais Campbell. Which is the real context of the tweet and my response that went right over your head.
  15. This is for all those people arguing that a generational pass rusher is going to get worse once he’s in position to rush the passer more. Some people have the hardest time.
  16. your dobbins pushing is ridiculous. for one “glaring need at rb” is over dramatic and completely misses the wholistic issues of our running game. for two, dobbins was an okay back in the most run heavy offense in the league. He didn’t light the world on fire at all.
  17. Not to mention, we have developed a reputation of helping injury prone players get their bodies right. We have the best training facility in the league for a reason.
  18. How crazy is it that Tampa was so close to having all three of their major sports teams win their respective championships for the same colander season?? I don’t think this gets talked about enough.
  19. Lol, I was being partially tongue in cheek. 😛
  20. We are a top three SB contender. Let go of the Bills poverty mindset, Dick. also probably every other board in the league. 😛
  21. Being the kid of a farmer has nothing to do with having a good work ethic- being raised by people who honor and instill a sense of value for hard work is everything. That can be a fifth generation farmer, or a single mom working a double at Winn-Dixie. Farmers have a strong work ethic because there is no such thing as phoning it in. You can’t be a lazy farmer for long. You might be able to get by in other roles without 100% commitment, but not the hand to mouth existence of most farmers. Same can be said for just about anyone who owns their own business. That being said, there isn’t anything to indicate Mahomes is a diva. I hated what he said and it was a bad look, but it’s not indicative of a pattern as far as I have seen. If it continues, maybe there’s something there. So far there isn’t. Josh is, by all accounts, one of the hardest workers in football - that is likely due to his upbringing, but if his dad had been the CEO of a Fortune 500 company he still could have that ethic if his dad had taught him the hard work required of being a successful man. P.s. - I will say it seems generally true that farmer kids are exposed to a hard days work earlier than kids raised in different contexts, which probably contributes to an understanding of work.
