An uncomfortable play-off situation with the Texans
whatdrought replied to Stallions's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. I have read this multiple times today. If we win any one of our next three, we're in. -
Good post @Virgil! I thought you were gonna be full negative Nancy, but this is a lot of fair takes. Here's my pushback on Allen's first half (and it is in no way absolving him of blame): Is there not a tangible difference how our offense plays when we're running quick slants, crossers, and come backs that get Allen confidence and move the ball, versus what we saw in the first half that was primarily a vertical passing attack that relied on deep outs and posts? To me there is a clear difference between the two and I can't understand why we don't start with the quicker stuff, especially when the Oline is getting whipped. All that to say... Allen looked much better when we switched to our faster offense in the second half. Isn't that on Daboll, at least partly, for not starting that way? (also consider that Allen's handle on his deep ball is much better when he's got the confidence built from positive plays). Allen left a lot on the field no doubt, but my question is- whose to blame between the disparity in these two offensive approaches? Allen, or Daboll? Why can't we do what has consistently worked throughout the year?

Week 15: Bills at Steelers on SNF

With the exception of some bs technicals in the cowboys game, the Bills have been sound in the backend and not made stupid penalty worthy plays. Not much to make it through in Mothers basement. -
Josh Allen - week FOURTEEN report card
whatdrought replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How many of the sacks were his fault? Serious question. I could see him hold the ball too long at times, but he also had no time at all other times (not to mention bs route combos) -
Just for perspective. The bills went toe to toe with the AFC#1 seed, the week after they beat the NFC#1 seed, who today beat the NFC#2 seed by scoring 1 zillion points. We may not be Super Bowl favorites, but we’re going to the playoffs, and we’re not going to be an easy out once we get there. Also, we’re winning the next 3. Take it to the bank.

Maybe not a drop that one, but definitely could have made a play to bail out his QB. Either way, Allen’s adjusted % will be closer to 60 than people expect.
-
Nice take. You’re more positive on what the bills did today then a lot of bills “fans”. You guys played well and are gonna be a handful in the playoffs. That being said, watch out if we see you again cause our QB ain’t giving you another! good game man. Rooting for you to take that #1 seed and run with it!

This. All week its “Ravens are the top team in the league, we don’t stand a chance against the ravens, no way we beat them, Lamar is the mvp, we’re not ready.” Then, we overcome ourselves, the refs, and the Ravens to come down to one play, and it’s “we’re such garbage. I can’t believe we lost. What a terrible game.” people are #######s, by and large. We we just gave the Ravens the only competition in the AFC they’ve faced since week 2.

What a disgusting Offensive effort

Agreed. Daboll also called several plays plays with stagnant route combos and with long combos that allowed the all out blitz to get home. Not to mention how predictable his run play ratios are. -

Yep. And in the first half Allen struggled. In the second, he took control and put us in position to come back. He was let down by the line and by drops. He also had some issues with not sensing pressure. -

Yep. The misses to brown, Knox, and Foster would change the game at the beginning. That’s on Josh. An inability for anyone on the offense to do anything, and a consistent running or 3 second route combos against cover 0 is what cost us the game. That and 3 horrific drops. Allen did enough to win this game. He did enough to help us lose, but it isn’t all on him. -

The heck did you watch? Can’t wait to see your recap to see where you think the blame goes. Took him the whole game to figure out that they were sending the whole damn crows nest at Josh and to switch to fast routes, outside runs, and max protect.
