  2. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/29939464/2020-nfl-pass-rushing-run-stopping-blocking-leaderboard-win-rate-rankings Not sure how good their metrics are, but this and some other things indicate that we're not entirely bad at rushing the passer.
  3. This i completely agree with. Prevent is ridiculous. It just seems unintuitive to change what you were doing because it was working so well...
  4. I actually see CB as a rather large need.... I think an upgrade to Levi would be very important, and I'm not sure Jackson showed enough to be penciled in as the starter... Levi vs. Dane competing in camp isn't the end of the world, but it would be good to improve that. I also disagree about having cheap rookies return kicks. We tried that for a couple years with Ray-Ray and McKenzie. That's why we signed Roberts. Not saying Roberts needs to be the guy, but I would prefer they have a vet plan for returner.
  5. Based on a harder schedule, (though it’s not that hard) a defense needing improvement, and a year of people knowing stefanski’s offense. Just a hunch, maybe I’m wrong. I think they will ebb and flow with Baker.
  6. Right, but when your prevent defense let’s them back in the game you’ve done something wrong. Just like the Bills did against the Rams in week 3. Again, the Steelers had the ball at midfield at the end of the third down 12 points having just scored back to back and having forced the browns off the field three straight times. If the Steelers score instead of punting it’s a different game. Again- a huge if and it doesn’t matter cause it didn’t happen. This is the point: The Browns win can be directly associated with 5-6 mistakes made by the Steelers. Some of them were good plays by the browns (the tipped interception, and the first interception was a good catch, but more or a terrible throw), but several of them were just horrible plays by the Steelers. The fumble to start the game, the interception where Ben just threw it to the air and the browns guy was there. The decision to punt. The dropped pick six late in the game. all of this works together to create what I would define as an implosion by the Steelers, which is where this digression began.
  7. Again, I appeal to the statistics... as a whole, with the exception of about 6 horrible plays by the Steelers, I’m not sure that argument holds validity. I’m not box score scouting here either. I watched the game. Take away 1 or two of the turnovers and that game has a huge variance of potential outcomes. Obviously teams are payed to make plays and capitalize when the other team makes mistakes. The browns did that and won an important game. I’m not taking away from them at all, and I do think they’re the better team right now. That being said - my initial assertion in this thread was that their win was due in large part to the implosion of the Steelers. I define the implosion as 5 turnovers, one for a score, and a couple of boneheaded coaching decisions. Outside of those damning errors, it’s hard to see that the Browns played that much better than the Steelers. Also, the browns ran for 127 yards while holding a lead the entire game... that’s not shabby, but don’t act like they were having a record breaking running day.
  8. https://www.espn.com/nfl/playbyplay?gameId=401220394 go back and look at this. 35-10 first half. - browns lead. 3rd Quarter: Steelers: 156 yards, 14 points. Browns: 31 yards, 0 points. Start of 4th: 35-23. Steelers kick on 4th and 1, huge surrender kick. The browns gash the exhausted Steelers defense. Not saying it would happen- but what if the Steelers go (as everyone wanted them to) and get that yard? Based on the 3rd quarter, they probably score. 35-30. It’s a big what if, obviously. But seeing no route to the Steelers wining? Come on now.
  9. Prevent means you aren’t as aggressive - not that you let the other team back in the game. The browns offense gained 4 yards in the third as the Steelers scored twice. If they don’t kick on 4th and 1 (which was horrible, and representative of the Steelers implosion) it could have gone differently. Not saying it would have - but it could have.
  10. I don’t debate that last line, but the game was a lot closer than it should have been. I don’t care about prevent. If Tomlin has testicles and goes for 4th and 1 at midfield, they likely go down and score making it a 5 point game. Cleveland’s offense struggled in the third quarter. Impossible to say what happens then.
  11. It took 5 turnovers (one for a touchdown), one of the worst punt decisions of the season (matched by Stefanski the next week) and a dropped pick six for the Browns to win by 11. That’s not a dominate win. Its not to take away from them- a win is a win and I don’t care how it happens. But the Steelers absolutely imploded. As you said - they led by 28 at halftime, but it ended up being a two score game.
  12. Not trolling, just honestly asking this question: Did you watch that game?
  13. *insert “I am inevitable” thanos gif*
  14. Cant get the taste of that horrible 4th quarter out of my mouth. Coaches lost the game with incompetence and then got COTY. Stupid. I’ll say it. I expect them to be a .500 team next year.
  15. They had one of the lowest strength of schedules, they got blown out by two division rivals at various points, and they struggled consistently throughout the season to win games against mediocre competition. Their QB is limited, and their defense has several holes. If anything, they’re the 2019 Bills, with a worse defense. Not to say they cant take a step, but they’re overrated and they were very uninspiring in the playoffs- it took a Pit implosion for them to win that, and then they lost to the chiefs backup QB on one of the worst coaching decisions I’ve ever seen. They have talent, but they’re clearly in the second tier of the AFC.
  16. lol. Sure. I like want and I want him, but if he wants to piss away his last years for that fake team, by all means.
  17. I had the same thought. Between that and the wellness check it paints a very sad picture. Nothing but praise for him on twitter as someone who helped many. Heartbreaking.
  18. Someone found a tweet he had about Kobe where he used hearts just like he did in this but they were gold and purple.... he uses the color of his hearts to send messages folks! Wake up Sheep!!!!!!
  19. I mean, in a sense of: “a slightly above replacement level guard indicated there may be news with regard to his looming contract situation only to post something non-sensical thus making a fan base that wasn’t convinced he was worth paying hate him.” yep. 😛 Also, still less of a troll than the weathermen who shut down the entire city of Louisville with predictions of 8-12” of snow only for 1” of sleet to show up.
  20. I consider it a great sign of my maturity that I didn’t assume this meant we had signed watt. also, could this mean we signed watt? stupid.
  21. Just watching his highlight reel shows that he can still disrupt things.
  22. JJ Watt hasn’t signed yet, and our 8-12” snow storm that was gonna get me out of work tomorrow has turned into a cute little sleet storm and maybe 4” of snow cause meteorologists are *****. What a stupid day.
  23. Very sad. I remember wanting him soooo bad when he left SD. Seems like he was going through some things...
  24. there is much content up thread on this. The most convincing argument is that he had a huge rate of double teams. Higher than Bosa, TJ Watt, Chase Young, Myles Garret, and many others. Guys might get doubled on name alone for a series or two, but pretty quick the offense realizes it’s all bark and not bite. - persistent double teams indicate persistent success against single teams.
  25. the other side of it could be that Star shows up re-motivated and in great shape. Hard to predict either way.
