  1. Below I will list alphabetically, all of the non-Patriots fans who feel any empathy for this and don't believe that it's well deserved after years of the ***** getting favorable calls: I'm only stopping so as to not take up the entire thread.
  2. Kroft was on the field a whole hell of a lot yesterday for someone who hasn't done a damn thing... I get Knox has the dropsies, but at least he does stuff occasionally.
  3. I don't know how to feel on that last route. Can't tell if Brown failed to cut in, or if that was how it was drawn up and Peters just played phenomenal defense on it. Either way, we came within one play of the best team in football. We're significantly further ahead this year from where people expected us to be. Agreed. Not sure why that was so hard for us to counter. Not sure who the blame goes to either, Allen, Line, Daboll... My guess is all three.
  4. Honestly, I'm in the minority here, but I actually was encouraged by Josh's performance. Obviously I would have preferred he come in and light the world on fire and throw for a zillion yards and crush the Ravens, but this seemed like a really really good "bad game" from him for 2 reasons: 1- When it got bad, and nothing was working, and he couldn't complete the deep ball and the line decided to take the day off and go bird watching (get it- bird watching? watching the ravens run by them... I'll be here all week, unfortunately) he never reverted to his poor decision hero ball mentality that leads to disaster. In fact, aside from some normal QB mistakes (missing passes, not seeing the blitz, etc) he didn't have any devastating mistakes or mind boggling decisions. He stayed in there and took the beating and kept getting up. I liked that. 2- He found his rhythm, he put the early part of the game behind him, and he played better football. He didn't fix every issue, and we couldn't do enough to win, but he got us within striking distance of the best team in the NFL whose Defense is playing very well right now. These two things were very encouraging to me, and if my QB needs to have a bad game, I want it to be with these things displayed. I also want it to be against the best team in football and the SB favorite, cause it stings a little less. If he does this against the Dolphins it's harder to be positive. All that to say, I think Josh will learn and he'll bounce back from this. When you factor in the obvious drops - Singletary 2x, Knox 2x, Beasley 1, and maybe McKenzie (some debate on that) he's goes from 43.5% to 58.9%. That's before counting in throwaways of which there were at least two or three. All that to say, adjusted % puts him much closer to decent. He definitely struggled and theres some passes he wants back no doubt, but the whole of what he did this game is hard to glean from the stat sheet.
  5. Not sure about that... ravens defense has been shutting down good teams for the most part while the Steelers haven't played many powers.
  6. Doesn't Ron Rivera to NYG make a little too much sense not to happen? (assuming Gettlemen doesn't get fired)
  7. What is their argument for bad officiating? I saw one call that was questionable against them, the Earl Thomas unnecessary roughness, while there was like 10 against us.
  8. I think it'd be hard to argue that the Ravens defense isn't as good as the Steelers. That being said, we were able to move the ball against the Ravens when we got our head out of our asses. I expect next week we win by 10 or more. I'm just deciding now to have confidence and trust that this team isn't a shameless tease. We'll see.
  9. Holy Wow. This thread. Roberts is second in the league in return average and is excellent at fielding punts and not allowing them to bounce or be downed in the black zone. Furthermore, the reason he doesn't get many punt returns is because teams intentionally avoid giving him returnable balls because he is a known threat. This is a terrible thread and sums up this entire day on TBD.
  10. Yep. That first fumble is one that 9 out of 10 QB's cough up. Not much to do when you get hit that fast by a DE who doesn't get touched on his way to you. Whoever though Knox one on one with Judon was a good idea (maybe Allen? who knows) is to blame for that one. Yeah, he needs to get the deep ball- he got one of them, a real beauty, but got it dropped. I agree about the OL. Not sure about Ford, as I didn't watch him closely. If we need a tackle, I might throw some of our cash at Jack Conklin from Tennessee. It's a great defense.
  11. I think you're mistaking complimentary football for one side winning vs. the other. Those three games were our offense playing very well, whether or not that was the competition level is another question, but the offense played well in those games. That offense with the defense we saw today is a SB team and wins the game today.
  12. Yep. My HUGE positive takeaway from today: Josh had a bad game. Some things he did poorly, some things that were done to him. Through it all, he didn't make any bad decisions or make any back breaking mistakes. That's a lot of growth. He didn't get bogged down in the garbage of the game and start playing dumb. He actually did the oposite. He stayed poised, brought us back, made some great throws, and played smart. It was an encouraging defeat in that regard. Man, I get where you're coming from, I just can't see the Steelers offense doing anything against our Defense. That whole "our defense isn't elite, it was just feasting on bad offenses" narrative has pretty much been shot and buried over the last two weeks. We're an elite Defense, and I would be surprised if Duck Hodges moves the ball against us. (No disrespect to him)
  13. It changes the perspective of the bad game- do you believe in the guy that he's gonna be back to being good, and shake off the bad game, or not? It's easier to say yes with Russel Wilson right now than it is with Josh Allen. I personally believe Josh will shake it off and come back to being good. This whole board would be on suicide watch.
  14. Personally tonight hasn't changed my opinion at all. We're getting 11 wins minimum, but 12 seems doable.
  15. Miami isn't as bad as they're billed, though beating them is no feat. Denvers defense got worked by us all game long, and they have a competent defense. Dallas is trash, but what we did was still impressive. The pieces are there, we just need to put it together.
  16. That's insane.. We can lose out and still have a statistically probable shot of making the playoffs? Crazy stuff.
  17. That's a fair counter, but a bad game is a bad game. It happens. On to next week.
  18. Except that Wilson doesn't look great either... Good to see that Good QB's can have off days without the world ending.
  19. Um, Jared, you accidentally shat yourself. Again. Please report to the locker room for wiping. Why exactly did the Lions give the Seahawks an above average starting Safety?... Generosity? Blackmail?
  20. Yep. I have hope that we can iron out the issues and get back on a hot streak, but it's hard not to wonder if this is just what our offense is this year... I'm hoping next week is a good rebound for us. That feels like a game where any mistake free play from the offense can create an easy win for us, but I'd love to see them get the kinks out and smack the hell outa the Steelers.
  21. This is how I feel as well.... Hopefully we're not missing something. I just don't see Duck Hodges doing anything. If Our offense can run the ball and play loose, it should be a good game for us.
  22. Holy *****, you're giving out cake way too freely.... Care to explain yourself?
  23. No doubt there. My bigger complaint is that when we did start moving the ball with up tempo and quick passing, the defense stopped sending the house. Why can't we mix the plays effectively? Daboll can create seperation on crossers that go for 5-10 yards, and he can create seperation and open routes on down field passes, but it's like they're two different playbooks and nary the two should meet. It's just the same feeling I've had in every game except the three game hot streak- there's no consistency in play calling which leads to a lack of positive plays. Negative plays happen when execution is poor, no doubt. But if you build drives on the foundation of positive plays, it can absorb negative plays. A missed deep ball on 2nd down doesn't matter when the middle pass game is working cause we're gonna pick up 3rd and 7 to Beasley. I don't know if any of that makes sense.
  24. If you told me there was a white linebacker named Logan Wilson in CFB, 9 out of 10 times I could guess that he played at Wyoming...
