  1. I wonder if this is something that McD can mention to the Refs before a game... Like: #97 jumps the snap really well sometimes and he's been getting Offside that aren't even close. Make sure you're actually watching. Or something like that.
  2. Chicken Egg. He doesn't pass outside so his WR's don't make plays. Watch some of his games, even against the Jets (whom are terrible and are starting Betty White at CB) his passes were all middle routes or posts. Let me know if you ever write a book! lol Example: Jets game- He threw more when the game was done than he did before. Right, but with two players who have always played together, it's impossible to determine who is "making" who. Andrews has had some great catches that have bailed out Lamar, that is for sure. Quarter: 1- 88 2- 90 3- 103 4- 88 Half: 1st: 178 2nd: 191 Doesn't fit the "they stop passing later in games when they have the lead" idea.
  3. Good point on Andrews, but definitely hard to say who helps who the most. I was really high on Andrews coming out and figured he would be pretty good wherever he went. Still funny to me that they took Hurst in the first and he has been largely outplayed by the third rounder. I don't think Hap is trying to discredit him. I think it's a fair point to question if he could have the same success here in such a different system and with such a comparably bare cupboard. Jackson is a good football player and does alright at throwing the ball. If he can manage to stay healthy and not have to change the amount that he runs, he'll be good for a long time. He doesn't (i think) fit under the same grouping of gimmicky, running QB's that can be figured out by Defenses easily and then stopped for two reasons: 1- he runs like no other QB ever has, better than most RB's ever have. 2- He does have really good arm talent and if you sell out to stop him, he can make enough throws to make you pay (see pass to Hurst as example). That being said, if his game is forced to change where he can't run, or he loses his elusiveness, he will need to develop an ability to go through reads (so many passes right now are 1 reads because the offense is so efficient) and the capability to pass outside the numbers. As of yet, we haven't seen that. Doesn't mean it can't happen.
  4. I'd say the Jets and Browns are probably closer to our perspective, just that their organizations are so full of ***** that it's dirtied their glasses when looking at the roster.
  5. I think in a lot of ways Phillips and Lawson are benefiting from a lot of A+ work being done by Jerry and Ed O. That Dline is playing like a team within a team and it's been a really great revelation as of late. I think Frazier (or mcd) has really figured out how to manipulate rotations, stunts, looks, etc. to set up the group as a whole for success. That being said, Jerry is a good component of that, but he's not a sack master whose going to dominate by himself and draw doubles all game long. He never really has been. His best seasons came when he was playing beside Kyle, Marcell (before he discovered little debbie), and peak Mario. I wouldn't hate adding a truly dominate DE in the draft or FA, but that's easier said than done.
  6. Lol at anti-allen Troll calling @Hapless Bills Fan, a blind homer. What a well educated, thoroughly believable take from a completely sincere, and non-laughingstock poster who is not universally accepted as a shill.
  7. I think Milano is as deserving as Edmunds. I know he started slow off the injury, but he is 100% elite at his best. (Not to say Edmunds isn’t as well)
  8. It is my observation that there are people on this board who, like the national media, did such a good job leading up to to the ‘18 draft convincing themselves that Wrong Josh would never succeed, that now they can’t help but die on that hill. I say to that, good luck. I’m sure that whatever team Rosen is on next year will have a message board, feel free to head that way when the goal posts get too heavy for you to schlep around.
  9. I'm right there with you... Color me a nerd, but I keep a running Mock offseason in my phone and whenever I'm bored at work or can't sleep, I'll scout players and try to build an offseason that fixes all the Bills problems. I've been doing this for years, and it's a lot more fun when the problems are less, and the draft picks are lower. Aside from not loving large trade ups (more than 5 picks) - I wouldn't hate that. He's gonna be good- He reminds me of Cam Jordan. If we're sitting in the mid 20's and he falls to 15, I wouldn't mind trading up to grab him. Yeah. His athleticism drills (40, 3cone, shuttle) could really add like 1.5 rounds to his stock and take him from a mid third to a late 1.
  10. That's fair. And if the top of the draft see's 3-5 WR's go, we might be better off waiting.
  11. Oh yeah, he'll be gone in the top 15 picks, just an example. As for Claypool, that will be a big knock on him- that and lack of production (though crap QBing can help explain some of that away). The truth is that there just aren't that many 6'3+ 215+ men in the world that are fast enough to run by NFL DB's. There's a short supply of Calvin Johnson's, Mike Evans', and Julio Jones' in the world. So we might not get every attribute that we covet. Give me someone who plays strong, catches what's thrown at him, and is fast enough to make plays at every level, and I'll be happy.
  12. Mims is a mid round guy that is super intriguing to me... He just catches the damn football!
  13. But by the same logic- don't NOT draft a WR simply for his size. I want the big, huge catch radius guy if there's one to have... But if Henry Ruggs is there in the late 20's when we pick, I wouldn't hesitate to take him. It's about create an offense with multiple playmakers. If they want to grab a small guy cause he fits what they want to do, and then circle back in the 3rd or 4th for Claypool from ND, or The kid from Liberty. That's great by me.
  14. I have a sneaky suspicion that he will the guy if they get a crack at him and want to go WR, and I wouldn't be mad at all. I think Daboll will fall in love with the idea of running him on sweeps, and in the backfield, and moving him around like a chess piece. He's definitely a burner, but look at this highlight video: Look at how many times the ball is hanging in the air between defenders and he goes up and beats them to the catch point. That's contested catches.
  15. Size has it's benefits, and I don't think anyone is arguing that... But size without separation and a play-making knack leads to guys like Laquon Treadwell, and KB and a lot of others that never made it. Same way speed without route running and ball skills leads to the John Ross's and Corey Coleman's of the world. It's all about finding the most complete player. Tee Higgins is one that I'm beginning to really like if Lamb is gone when we pick (which he likely will be)
  16. Man, I really hope this doesn't happen.... As it stands right now, there are about 10-15 WR's that would be first round picks in any other draft.... I want nothing to do with spending picks to get up and get a player at the deepest position pool. We did this the last time there was a thick WR class, and not only did we waste a pick, but we ended up getting the one bust of the group.
  17. I'm right there with you. One guy who intrigues the crap out of me is Chase Claypool, from Notre Dame. He's practically a TE, but he gets plays downfield. False. Blackbears.
