  1. Yeah... they want to keep him with a pay cut... Because he's overpaid... what is your argument here?... Go back and read my entry into this thread. Sammy has a broken understanding of his own worth and the idea that he thinks he might get a bigger contract is proof of that.
  2. With the 6th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select, Derrick Brown, DT from Auburn. We're thrilled to be grabbing one of the best players on the board, while also getting a ton of draft capital. Brown will come in and anchor our defensive front, improving our entire Defense in the prospect. He's big, strong, fast, and physical. He'll also help Trey Flowers get back to his high level of play. @Virgil and the Panthers are on the clock.
  3. I am even more in the 2 round voting group now that I've gotten another second round pick.
  4. So it seems like your argument is self defeating... Are you saying they view what he did this past post-season as irreplaceable and they aren't parading around KC right now without him? If that's the case, they wouldn't dream of cutting him. The reality is that they can be thankful that he produced when he did, but still realize they badly overpaid for him and are now in need of rectifying that situation. The problem is that it's not either or. He was overpaid. That's obvious. But he did play well this postseason. But to my original point, everything in this thread seems to indicate that Sammy boy has a warped understanding of himself, and his place in the NFL. That's also kinda what we realized when he was here in Buffalo.
  5. Yep. And the Chargers have a playoff roster. If Tua is healthy and ready to roll and is as advertised, that could be a 10-12 win team, putting those two picks lower on the chart shrinking my return. So my hope is obviously that his hip isn't ready to go, you guys ride with the great Tyrod, go 2-14 and I get to use your first overall pick next year. - At which point I'll flip Stafford for a second, take Trevor Lawrence, hire Eric Bienemy and win the Superbowl.
  6. I think Tua has plenty of red flags, but if they wanted him, trading up was the right move. Not crazy at all to think that two QB's would have gone between 3 and 6. Tua was going #3 either way, so we'll see if Herbert is off by six.
  7. Looks like 2200 - 2816. So I netted a premium of 600 or so. That's based factoring future picks as middle of the round, one round later. So a 2021 first rounder has the rough commiserate compensation of the 16th pick in the second round this year. Probably not a perfect system, but I don't know how else to factor in future picks.
  8. That's such a false equivalency. They made him the highest paid receiver in the league, they paid him to be a number 1, and he's been a marginal number 2 to 3. Those five catches (not six) that he had in the SB didn't even lead his team. Production in one game does not justify the contract, and that's exactly why they will be trying to get out of the contract this year.
  9. I think Tua is seen as a guy who can transcend system with his accuracy and athleticism. I don't know if that's the case or not, but I think most people are willing to put him with anyone.
  10. A good pick for them. Do you plan on bringing back Rivers for one more ride while transitioning, or do you see Tyrod as your stop gap?
  11. Heck yeah it is. I am very happy with the turn of events. I prefer not to get into public discussions regarding private negotiations. We got a fair deal and we're happy to help the Chargers get where they need to be.
  12. The success of his teams and the fact that someone overpaid him and now regrets it is not an indication that this gentleman has a proper head on his shoulders.
  13. Much to @Virgil's chagrin, the deal has been completed in time. The Detroit Lions trade the 3rd overall pick of the 2020 NFL draft to the Los Angeles Chargers. @H2o and the Bolts are on the clock. Compensation: 2020: #6, #37, #109 2021: 1st and 2nd The Lions are happy to trade back, stay in position for a top player, and get a chunk of capital that will help us build a superbowl team... Now if only we could get a coach who isn't a fat idiot. But I digress.
  14. The bigger issue, rather than wanting time off, is that he actually mentions them giving him a bigger contract... The guy whose a fringe cap casualty. This guy has never played with a full deck.
  15. Well how long is the clock supposed to be? Cause my negotiations factored in a Wednesday morning start time, and now we're already off to the races... I don't want to miss out because of a ill-defined clock and an early start. Especially not when the commissioner is double dipping! lol
  16. I'm waiting to hear back from a potential trade partner.
  17. Yuck! Why would that be a good idea? I wouldn’t even trade a fist+ for CMC.
  18. He’s incapable of seeing trump as anything but corrupt because that’s what his intellectual overlords at CNN and MSNBC have wired into his brain. Therefore, it’s infeasible that Trump was trying to root out real corruption, because Trump is corrupt and everything he does in corrupt.
  19. The Lions, at #3, which is higher than #4, are also listening to offers. also, I’d be fine taking another Team if needed.
  20. I think that's why a lot of us voted for Trump. Not idea by any means, but better than the alternative.
  21. Bernie's used to swallowing the party "line" even to his detriment.
