One "drought era" Bill on today's roster?
whatdrought replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Technically he would not be eligible because he was on a Bills roster that went to the Postseason. I thought of him at first too, but alas. -

Schobel might be a better option than Mario... Lynch and Motor would be a devastating 1-2. -

The Houston game where he and Losman connected on two 60+ td passes was pretty. Him across from Brown would be difficult to defend. -

Takeo and London were both on my short list, I just wasn't sure about the positional need given what we have at the position. Also, Gilmore makes sense but his "prime" with Buffalo wasn't that great, and I don't think he's nearly as good in a zone first scheme. -

Lee with Allen is a sexy idea... -
I've seen threads like this before, but not sure one has popped up this offseason. If you could bring one drought era Buffalo Bill (someone who never played in the playoffs with the Bills) in their prime, and drop them on this roster, who would it be? **Edit: For the sake of argument, let's say that "prime" means the high point of their career with the Bills. So for instance, whatever Gilmores best year was when wearing the red white and blue, not last year. This is what got me started down this rabbit hole: Freddy seems like an obvious choice, but Mario might be my pick.

Isn’t that just retired?... I feel like that’s another term for that. -
This guy is a complete hack. How he got a checkmark is beyond me.

Where Would CJ Spiller Go In 2020?
whatdrought replied to Flip Johnson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We've seen great prospects go high at RB lately, and I think Spiller was seen as a great prospect. He may not have been Barkley or Elliot, but I think he was considered near that level of a prospect. -

Lets not forget, the guy had 1700 yards and 8 touchdowns in a season. He just could never stay healthy/play on a decent team. -

Without hindsight, as a prospect alone? Probably still top 15. -

Oof. Insult to injury. “I got completely embarrassed in the presidential campaign, but at least I still have a straight, beautiful girlfriend who loves me.” -
You’re using play style to create arbitrary distinctions. Thielen is an X receiver who is asked to be big on the boundary, fight one on one with DB’s, and do more things that lend itself to contact. Diggs is more Z receiver, which moves him around, plays off the LOS and runs more deep routes which preclude jump balls. Furthermore, while Thielen is fighting through guys, Diggs is often times running by them. And, If you go look at highlights from this year (which I just did) you’ll see a huge number of examples where Diggs fights for extra yardage, taking on multiple defenders after the catch. I don’t know where you’re getting the idea that Diggs is not tough. He is a diva, that’s true, but he also has had to fight to make it in the NFL as a 7th round pick. As I said- I have nothing wrong with Thielen, love the guy. With the only exception being some of his attitude concerns, I think most informed people would consider Diggs a better receiver. It’s not a huge gap when they’re both healthy, and they’ve been very lucky to play off each other, but Diggs is more talented.

The most important question that this post illicits... who the hell is chicken legs, what’s he doing in a gym, and is he okay after being in proximity with workout equipment? -
