  1. Well before my time, but I watched the clip and i can imagine the feelings some of you experienced! Also, some things I noticed: The blocked fg is given up by Rick Dennison... Yes, that Rick Dennison. They used to quiet the crowd/allow extra time for the offense due to a loud crowd? What the heck! Was this before 2 point conversations? Bills go up 8 and the commentator says they need a TD and a fieldgoal.
  2. This article posted upthread by @B-Man was really helpful for me to see the context. At very least there's huge discrepancies between the official statement made by the father and the video itself. Additionally, the statement itself shows how wrong they were in this situation, I think.
  3. That's utter bull####. The outrage is justified for sure. The video clearly demonstrates misrepresentations in the story, the story itself is BS and doesn't reflect anything close to what a citizens arrest looks like. As a law abiding citizen who regularly carries a handgun for the defense of myself and my family, I can assure you that this would have resulted in one of those idiots getting shot if it had me being harassed.
  4. From what is known, that's definitely my take on it as well... Citizens arrests aren't meant as a license to play dragnet. They didn't see a crime committed, and they didn't have a right to start the confrontation. What happened after that is another story. I will say, the video does seem like victim runs towards the guy, which is not necessarily what someone in that situation would traditionally do, but the fight or flight mechanism is a weird deal and I'm willing to assume he was innocent until there's any substantial reason to show he wasn't. And, these guys get some degree of innocent until proven guilty, though I think they're admitting to the confrontation is definitely guilt in its own right. What's the timeline on this? I (and I assume most others) hadn't heard about it until the video dropped? How long between incident and video going viral was there, and did the police have the video in that time? I assume there was some investigation happening, but it does seem questionable that they weren't detained immediately. Also, It's possible for these men to be murderers, and for them to have done so with racist intent, and it still not prove the liberal narrative that racism is at an all time high and so called white privilege is ruining America. EDIT: After reviewing the information and re-watching the video it's pretty clearly inexcusable that they went uncharged for this long, irregardless of who had the video when. A clear investigation still shows vigilantism that led to the death of a man. Book em danno.
  5. If he’s so sought after, how could they not get compensation for him? Feels like something else is going on behind the scenes. I’d be fine with upgrading, but I think our line is going to take a big step forward with another year together.
  6. They improved their line marginally, they’re betting on a rookie to be their WR, and they didn’t do anything of substance to address their woeful CB room. also, they’re run by a laughingstock of a coach. The pro-Jets mentality of this board is the exact same thing that we saw last year where half the board expected them to destroy us.
  7. NYJ - W @Mia - W LAR - W @LV - W @ Titans - W KC - L @NYJ - W NE - W Sea - L @Arizona - L LAC -W @SF - L PIT - W @DEN - L @NE- W MIA - W That's 11-5 easily for me, but I see us winning one of those other ones. People will flame me for Denver, but I just have a feeling they're going to be a really good team this year.
  8. didn't realize Manish wrote this till the end. It's actually somewhat reasonable coming from a mentally handicapped person like him. Except they aren't beating us.
  9. I think Gilliam is the only one with a real chance at cracking the 53. I actually expect that. Aside from that, Adams screams "Practice squad to pro bowl" story to me. I say we stash him and let him get his body right. Can't tell if this part is serious or not?
  10. Looked up the academic calendar, classes are over before thanksgiving! ?
  11. I see 2 losses and about 14 games that could go either way, but of those, I’m confident in about 11-12. It’s a tough schedule for sure, but I think we’re going to be better this year all around.
  12. I struggle to see 6 losses on that schedule.
  13. 4 prime times with a potential for 5 in the Denver game. Could see 4 in December... wow! picked a crappy year to take Monday night classes.
  14. I’m not speaking as someone “in the know.” Just my observation of things so far.
  15. Not to digress into another Covid situation, but I disagree wholeheartedly. I promise there will be fans and a full season. Take it to the bank.
  16. This spreadsheet was a lot of fun last year! And the amount of people in the comments of that tweet that can't figure out how to use that spreadsheet is also fun....
  17. I agree with your point that we can't determine the intellect of someone based on the school they attended, nor can we judge the entire school based on one alumnus, but at the same time, there are good schools and bad schools (or, lesser schools). The one being discussed seems to be a lesser school by most metrics, and at least one lawyer it produced seems to have trouble crafting professional statements. That of course doesn't mean the school is bad, or that the lawyer is an idiot. I personally don't know much about either.
  18. I'm not offended by the issue of race. I find it ridiculous when people use race as some sort of trophy, defense, or pot stirring implement. Especially when it's done outside of context by someone who didn't take the time to properly read the content of the discussion before spouting off. I do apologize about the goat thing. There are likely many pygmy's who could write a less head-scratching statement, irregardless of what school they went to or whether or not it was a historically black school.
  19. Or a demonstration of what a complete flaming pile of poo that Jets team was.... Also, the best part of that thread is the Manish hatred.
  20. The fact that you felt the need to defend a bad school by mentioning that it's a "historically black college" is playing the race card. Yes. Bringing race into a conversation when it is neither relevant or useful is playing the race card. This time it was done to defend a poor university, which is just confusing.
  21. You're embarrassing yourself with you inability to practice reading comprehension... He was clearly referring to the statement that looked like it was typed by someone slightly smarter than a pygmy goat. You then went nuts playing the race card and looking a fool.
  22. https://www.ilrg.com/rankings/law/4/desc/LSATMed https://abovethelaw.com/2020/03/2021-u-s-news-law-school-rankings/3/ I mean, here's two sources I found in 3 minutes of googling that rank that school as one of the worst in the country (or at least the worst of the hundreds they rank)... But good job playing the race card in defense of a bad school... I guess.
  23. For me there's two teams on our schedule that I can't say "We should at least have a complete 50% chance against them." The 49ers and the Chiefs... Also known as the superbowl teams. But even with them, I wouldn't bet money on us beating them, but we've shown under McD that we know how to punch above our weight, and I don't think they're (again, the superbowl teams- I.e. the best teams in Football) are more than like half a weight class above us.
