I think that 9-7 is very doable and unless the Jets run hot next year I think that 9-7 could win the division.

I figured that you would be on special assignment in Iowa chitt bombing town halls and what not. Did you miss your plane?

Seifert was there during the mid-1970's and I was there during the 1980's. I knew a guy who was briefly on the team but quit before one season. This is where I got to know what I do about it. The guy in question was a house mate in the student residence I lived in on North Campus. He had quite a problem with coke but was in denial about it while I knew him. But even he could recognize that there was a such a thing as too much. He barely made it through Cornell.

The best education that I ever saw while in college was words of warning that nobody is going to look out for you but yourself. This was said in regards into many things including birth control and not giving out passwords for anything you had going on with a computer. As one prof said there are people out there that would be only be too happy to ruin you to feel better about themselves. I don't think that truer words were ever spoken.

Back when SNL was good they used to parody Sam. Usually had Sam interrupting somebody non-stop. Anyways, Sam has fallen quite a bit from when he was on ABC's This Week and David Brinkley kept him on an even keel. Words of advice to Sam : Get back to ranching and pitch the manure there. It will ultimately do some good as opposed to what he is pitching now.

You go back a ways as the drinking age was progressively raised from 18 to 21 during the early 1980's. As far as brothers flunking out from what I could see it did not go well. Many were locked into life times of poor habits and menial jobs. I couple that I knew took their lives as they could not resolve their desires with their accomplishments or lack of. My story is somewhat complex. I should have pushed myself harder but do not blame alcohol or other people for what I failed to do. For the most part I am happy with where I am at in life. I just worry due to circumstances I might have to make a change in life a little after when I thought that might happen.

Cornell football had a TERRIBLE problem with drugs when I was there. They were probably going through coke by the 5 gallon pail full. I would not have minded going out for the team but knew that kind of partying was only going to lead to failure for a guy like me. Unlike a lot of those guys the family was not waiting with a job for me that would allow for a pretty nice life once I washed out or limped through school. George Seifert was a coach there briefly and word was that was what drove him back out west to SF (fired but the relationship was fractured well before that because he could not run things the way he saw fit to do -fed up being a college coach). Not that NFL players do not party but at least they can a find a way to win or they get cut. No pressure by alums to keep a failure on the team.

There are always a few bad ones on any large campus. That aside drinking and partying don't automatically make it bad. Freshmen need to get their priorities sorted out before they go off to college. Some kids can drink and still function academically. Other kids can't function with any distractions. I knew when I went off to college that I needed to be around other students that gave priority to studying. Yes, we might have a drink or two after classes but after mealtime which was usually 5PM it was off to our respective dorm room or the library until the work was done for the day.

I'm a Cornell alum. I've seen the frat system and student society system up close. I put most of the blame on the frat but the prospects/pledges need to know when to walk away. This is easier said than done as many recognize the benefits of belonging to a frat bring including lifetime connections. I never joined a frat even though I got asked to pledge but still belonged to a "house" which carried the same benefits. Lifetime connections bring tremendous advantages in terms of profession or career. It is hard to ask some kid who came from an ordinary life to look away from opportunity. Where the frats got off track in my mind is the notion to one up the people that hazed you. Hazing used to involve having a blanket thrown over your head, tossed in a car trunk, driven an hour away from campus, and then left behind. But at least they left you near a road sign telling readily where you were and made sure you had change so you could use a payphone if needed. If you had asthma or some other medical concern they made sure you had your meds or devices to deal with it. I am not saying that there were not a few sadistic cases but it did not seem that sadism was wide spread by any means. Today it seems quite a few want to push you within inches or minutes of death.

I'm in a different life situation than I would guess that 90 percent of the board is in. There will be a market but most likely not the one dominated by young professionals in terms of short driving distance to desired locations. With the amount of trolling here and the associated activities they engage in I will not say where but I know enough about Eden to say that it is more remote than that.

Slithering Towards Dictatorship

I did not know that Hillary had an account here but it sure looks like it. Look at her. Maybe she finally figured out that she had to rub elbows with the common folk. -

Might be a good idea as I have a business. What quite a few may not realize is the USPS can act as a marker to demonstrate certain correspondence gets done. I will have the need in the next few weeks to send a certified letter sent to a given individual to prove that a correspondence is performed. Further, I find it reassuring that I do get some materials via print as some materials get stored in a safe deposit box to protect my interests. Being that these materials bear the authentic letter head of the sender gives authenticity and legitimacy to them. -
That and homes in not so desirable areas (note that I did not say BAD areas) sit for months even with appreciable mark downs. As said before I would move to a hamlet an hour or more outside of Rochester or Buffalo to get a great value. Some pretty good homes available for under 100K because younger people want to be at their destination in 5-10 minutes. For me the ride is sometimes as good as the final destination.

Yes, some neighborhoods in the south side of Rochester are seeing quick selling homes due to this. Victor is just about built over so there is a surge in the town of Farmington. I suspect that Canandaigua will be next if demand stays up for another decade. Probably would have happened a long time ago if the original plan for 390 going all the way down to Canandaigua Lake had happened.

A fair amount of new construction over into Ontario County in the Victor/Farmington area. As said with the Buffalo area good homes in good neighborhoods are in the most extreme short supply. Having said that if I were looking today (which I am not) I would probably buy something an hour outside of either city unless my career dictated otherwise. Too much value to be had out in the hamlets.

Interesting. Pent up demand and a narrow focus in the market. Sounds like a flipper could make it in Buffalo with the correct strategy.

This is Tiberius level innuendo. Dershowitz has gone to bat for a number of leftists over the years. -

You are describing Hilary Clinton and no doubt many others on both sides of the aisle as well. -
I was watching the news last night and one of the stories talked about a hot local housing (sales) market. This was on top of the couple days old story that New York continues to lose residents. Obviously, there is more to this than what has been covered. Sure, some areas are stable population-wise. Some current home buyers were most likely long term renters who were able to set aside money for a down payment. Just wondering what others are seeing. I see a few desirable neighborhoods and townships having good results in terms of off the market in short order of listed homes. What I mostly see is neighborhoods and townships where homes are on the market for months and have suspicions that in order to get places sold the sellers are taking a beating. I think that there is more to it than the sunny assessment of a realtor association person who says buy now before it is too late when a microphone and camera is directed their way. What are you seeing?

Which is why I question that they will do anything in the City of Buffalo. Too many palms that will have to be greased to get anything going there. Also, any roads would have to be upgraded and the utilities said to be in poor condition for a stadium. All these things will require big bucks to address. But if the Pegula's want to throw all that on their backs then God Bless Them.

The Impeachment Trial of President Donald J. Trump

Confirms my suspicion he does multiple boards on a daily basis. 200 posts per hour to make it worth doing. Yuck. -

His schtick is pretty much insults here but I do see him over on TSW so probably a real person. Pretty easy to get rep points there so maybe that is a consideration so he looks like he has cred. Anyways, I think the Tiberius character is just about played out so look for a new character that talks like him soon. -

He's fed material from various leftist sources such as the DNC. This includes "analysis." He probably has support in terms of responses and when he is slow/no that most likely means there is a backup at the "think" tank.
