My favorite Reagan retort. -

Not old at all. I have yet to exit my 50's in terms of my age. I have a very good memory and by nature am fairly reflective of the past. -

They weren't bad and they weren't great. The biggest problem I had was being tarred by my uncle's family in school. Which is to say everybody assumed I was going to act the worst that my cousins did because I had the same surname. One time I had to beg a teacher and a guidance counselor to take a given class because that teacher had a no "smith" policy. Feuding was and is a pretty big deal close to the city as well as out in the country. I know state troopers that will not go into certain areas and certain homes without back up. Better today than 100 years ago when somebody could perform a crime against you and have it go without action because you were not related to 90 percent of the town which consisted of one family. One state trooper friend speculated that a person could go missing indefinitely if it was not reported. The law only cares that you attend school up to age 16 in terms of your whereabouts. Your name could be on the deed to your property and the only thing the law cares about is that the taxes are paid and not who made the payment. -
The Democrats have to feel damned no matter who wins today. They either get the commie in sheep's clothing or a guy that could take a deep plunge in terms of his mental capabilities at any time. It's no joke with Biden as people have been known to go into steep declines in terms of mental ability in a brief amount of time and at ages considerably younger than he is.

You can kid your small group of like minded friends but you can't kid the board here. An approval rating does not guarantee one result over one or more other results when it comes to an election. You are whistling in the dark as I said before. You are so frightened of one scenario happening that you need to rationalize reasons as to why it will not happen. All that aside anybody that has taken an introductory statistics course in college can tell you that information can be embellished, manufactured, withheld, or manipulated to produce a desired result. -

Whistling in the dark? Overwhelming anti-Trump sentiment? Where? Greenwich Village? Haight-Ashbury in SF? Cooked polls? Communist sympathizers sensing that now is their time to strike? No one politician is going to have 100 percent of the people behind them but to say that there is this soon to be mobilized majority against Trump is a stretch. The left is looking ridiculous trying to tar and feather Trump with whatever is in immediate reach no matter how non-sensical it may be such as with the Corona Virus. Try some dignity for a change and see where it takes you guys. -
Russian interference (joking).

Yes, the scale of justice should be even regardless of political affiliation. -

They will never wind up in the chair that is sometimes used to deal with seditionists, spies, and traitors if you know what I mean. Unfortunately. The ones that are found within the walls of major prisons......................... -

Between the two I have maybe seen an hour's worth collectively while I was home due to illness versus being at work. Plenty of real life drama while I was in high school. There were families who changed their name to disassociate with a black sheep relative. Two hot girls who were second cousins running a pretty open family feud in school. Family feuding with another family because the idiot son from one knocked up the idiot daughter from the other. Out in the sticks people would shoot at one another and burn houses down if the hate was strong enough. -

Maury and Springer were well after my childhood. Is the caller there? -

What, they could not find Alan Alda to cheer lead Biden? Somebody should do a television special concerning the ultimate fate of the character of the Meathead. Cubicle drone at a leftist think tank? Rob Reiner was a nobody before AITF and other than one brief moment (This is Spinal Tap) he once again became a nobody. Apparently, he has not given most of his money to doomed leftist causes as his girth suggests he is getting at least 3 meals per day. -
I am unaware of one for business leaders here. I know that PPP tends to get more views than OTW but OTW might be the more appropriate place for yours. Regardless of where it winds up it would be a good thread to have and update when necessary.

My parents never oversaw my television viewing during the afternoon as they were still busy with work. If I was a parent back then I would not go to the extreme of forbidding a certain show but I might pipe up about a situation depicted that concerned me. I would want them to know that certain things depicted on a show would not unfold like that in real life. That there would be consequences unlike what was shown on television. Like Captain Kirk jumping the bones of every young attractive alien woman that he ever crossed paths with. Only once showing a pregnancy and a willingness by the woman that virtually never happens in real life. -

Or how neither Ginger nor Mary Ann ended up pregnant? Mr. Howell : Would not tap either due to 1960's sense of chivalry with the upper class plus Mrs Howell being right there. The Professor : Would not want children so he had either of the women swallow. The Skipper : Ginger would not touch him even if she was falling down drunk. Mary Ann would feel like it was doing her father (Again the 1960's chivalry kicking in). Gilligan : Very complicated situation unlike the character himself. Both women would fear the result of bearing very stupid children. In the rare emotionally charged evening for Mary Ann she would grant Gilligan pity play. Ginger might also in a very drunken moment jump Gilligan because he is youthful plus Ginger would consider Gilligan a non-emotional bridge until she could get back to Hollywood to jump an actor. Gilligan strikes me as the type of guy who would have blanks in his gun done as a courtesy by nature so as not to burden the world with more Gilligan family members. -

Today for example the other castaways had Gilligan watch Wrong Way Feldman's plane with Feldman ultimately fleeing the island. You would think that after Gilligan ruined the supply hut containing the many dozen remaining flares the Professor would have Gilligan tied to a tree until a plan was completed. We can all be snarky and say that the others would have killed Gilligan after a while but this was a 1960's show after all with a minimum of malice demonstrated. -

Most television shows are pretty stupid in terms of content but for 10's of millions of kids here in the US during the 1970's television was the baby sitter when the kids got home from school. Back when there was three choices (we could not pull in PBS) for viewing Gilligan was usually one of the three at 4PM. Phil Donahue was on sometimes at 4 until some parent's kid got an earful on human reproduction and then the parent called the television station then Phil got pushed pushed back to 3PM. If you were like me that meant you could still catch 20 plus minutes of PD. -

I did not name Biden in my last post but I would put him down as being more as a degree snob although I am sure that in his younger days he thought he could school anybody which was my point. Trump learned something as he has never gone completely broke which more than you can say about a fair number of others in the development and construction trades. By the way liberals seem to like the dumbest cartoons. -

Trump never ran on the basis of being an academic. Warren and a number of others in recent elections threw their college degrees in the voters' faces every chance they got. World of hard knocks (1), eggheads (0) for those keeping score. -
Still not convinced that these "episodes" are legit versus being staged for a false flag.
