Slavery Ended 150 years ago. GET OVER IT!

Tiberius, your background please. -
Biden has had over 40 years to do that already. The only thing he will do if elected is call his puppet master "master."
-
Joe Biden expects to be out of DC within a year if elected with his "whoever becomes my VP better be ready to take over within a year" comment. Who are we really electing and who is pulling that person's puppet string? By the way become an independent then you will wonder why you voted Democrat all the way prior to that.

Does not matter what side of the aisle your politics are this is far from over. We are seeing temporary improvement because businesses are going to give it their best shot and you can't blame them. But the damage has been already done for many. Going to have to see almost a rebirth of the credit industry as businesses will need all kinds of support to stay afloat. It will be nearly impossible for many businesses to pay a 30 day supplier account on time for a while. American Express and others will have to resist the urge to throw debtors in the usury prison once the good feelings that go along with buying off the media go away.

Slavery Ended 150 years ago. GET OVER IT!

That is not how it goes. I've been down this road in that my direct ancestors at the earliest did not arrive until 1850 (Irish potato famine) and dad's side at the earliest was the 1880's and in the Western US. The lefty's will holler white privilege with all whites being looked out for by other whites. Further, from the first candy bar bought at Ellis Island onward those ancestors although not directly benefitted from some sort of oppression. If some shovel at some auction which was made in the South before 1860 was bought for a dollar that dollar still counts as oppression even if was bought 120 years after the fact. Italian, Irish, Pole is does not matter as the left already has their flow chart as to everybody's role in oppression. Vietnamese boat people? Bought that corner store............................ What is your background so we can give you the white oppressionist hose down? -
I don't know the district so it is impossible for me to evaluate the article. I still see most WNY districts under financial stress and given the impact of COVID 19 on state coffers expect state aid most likely will be reduced. Cuomo's statements might be considered softening the eventual blow on district finances.

Mentioning online schooling is most certain a shot across the bow. Online schooling would open the gates for taxpayers to make pushbacks on staffing. The argument for one teacher for every 24-30 students was there was no archiving of in class presentations. So the distinction had to be made between fast learners and slow learners. In high school those who were just hoping for a school degree versus those wanting a regent's diploma versus those who wanted AP to be noticed by certain colleges. Now all materials can be down loaded and replayed to meet a student's need. Add to that most districts in WNY have been or are under financial stress. One of the fallouts to come out of the pandemic will be fewer businesses to contribute to the taxbase whether it be property taxes or otherwise. My parents' generation who made the last big wide swath of career pay are dying off and so is their contribution to the school districts. No way what's left in WNY in most districts will maintain home values when they are making 11.40 per hour at Quick Lube or Walmart when the last owner was an engineer at some area company making three times the wage.

Daycare was hit hard as parents were laid off so they had the time to watch the kids and lacked the money to pay for daycare if they did not want to watch the kids. Your scenario presupposes normal employment for parents versus continued problems in the economy. As to what happens with the school districts a lot will depend on what NEA does. I'm surprised at the statements Cuomo has made to online schooling given NEA's stature in the Democratic Party. Maybe Cuomo has NEA pegged as the dinosaur who has just seen the asteroid out of the corner of its eyes.

PSA: How to use the "Ignored Users" function
RochesterRob replied to dubs's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Won't matter as the hardcore trolls such as Tiberius will just keep opening new accounts to remain visible to certain posters. -
I suspect that this is the tip of the iceberg nationally. A lot of two paycheck homes will need a daycare option. Might be good for local employment as there should be a net increase in the need to monitor children versus a bus driver who hauls 60 kids around twice per day or a lunch room monitor who tracks a few hundred kids per period. Of course credentials and temperament will be more critical in somebody's home versus on a bus.

Bull crap. If your heroes had stories containing substance nothing would have drowned it out. Especially, if the content originated outside the US given all the anti-Trump noise there that would have banged the drum endlessly.
-
If they had anything it would have been leaked to the media even if somebody in the media had to be a fall guy in case the story blew up on them. Given the effort to pump up Biden and destroy Trump it tells me there would be ample money there for a fall guy to grab if the story failed in the end. You should be concerned as to what is coming down the road with Biden.

The heat is on them plus a myriad of other small business operators with the need for the US government to step in and allow banks some flexibility on loans. This will not solve everything if a business has credit extended to them by another business such as a restaurant having credit extended to them by a supplier.
-
I don't see that. Despite what has been said by politicians among others the livelihood of many people are still hanging in the balance. Many businesses that do not run on hefty margins have a few months of income to make up and no doubt have creditors waiting on them to make accounts current. These business people are going to take every step possible to protect their means of living since the government will not do so. Banks are in a tough position as loans are not allowed to float indefinitely. At some point they will be forced to undertake unpleasant actions including foreclosure as banking laws require that loans have some degree of quality meaning they can be paid per a schedule.

What if his "data" points to a shutdown of Buffalo and Rochester? I still believe that it would not be necessary to shutdown the rest of the region but he may decide otherwise due to hospital bed issues or some other reason. No reason to shutdown Jamestown, Olean, Hornell, Batavia, Geneva, etc. but he may do so and he might instruct the state police that they are not allowed to be passive in the matter.

Will Violence kill another revolution?
RochesterRob replied to Niagara Bill's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Your OP barely mentions a racial component specifically the Black Panthers. The Black Panthers had many issues that were not economic such as disproportionate numbers of African Americans being sent to Vietnam. Anyways, I was responding to the post concerning collectivism which was never done in the US to any degree outside of some homesteading but in Europe and other parts of the world not affecting African Americans. If implemented in the US collectivism would not only impact African Americans but many Americans including Caucasians. I suspect that many whites would participate with the intent of receiving benefits who previously did not work. There are many in WNY who have never worked a day in their lives in terms of being officially on a payroll. They either live with the parents or grandparents in a home or a mobile home on a relative's property. They barter for their needs and work for cash when possible. -
She should try a full face mask as a courtesy to her viewers.

Don't even have to look to Hollywood. My one SIL is pretty far to the left. All the kids that I am an uncle to as well. I doubt that any of them have given any study as to what a Marxist state would look like. You are right in that it is almost a badge of chic-ness for a lot of people. Kind of like bisexuality was during the 1990's. Today bisexuality is categorically dismissed as being a myth among the hard core left. That having a relationship with a member of the opposite sex (when a same sex person is preferred) is just forced conformity. Most of the lefty's I knew in college are still the same way decades later. They like Tibs are deluded in thinking if they are not a part of the ruling elite will be well connected to the ruling elite so the chit will never hit them. They never envision themselves being rounded up like cattle.
