Powerball winner Jack Whittaker has died
RochesterRob replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Depends on how much you won. The man in question won over 300M dollars so he was on everybody's radar in the community that he lived in which was not overly wealthy. If you only win a million then you only have to worry about pissing off a few friends and relatives when you say no about passing out money. -
Powerball winner Jack Whittaker has died
RochesterRob replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
His biggest problem was that he thought he could live his regular life including hanging out in bars after his big win which was his big mistake. With no privacy law here in NY if you won you need to keep a low profile and move to an undisclosed location. Harder to do if married and have children. I'd still take the money but change my phone number and move a distance away for starters. Probably have to keep moving for a while but things would calm down after a few years. A new identity for going out and about would be a help along with a 20 year old pick up truck to keep all the riff raff away. At least he lived awhile instead of being murdered like a few people. -
At least a vacation away from here courtesy of the mods.

Keep deflecting. It's all you have.
-
Deflect all that you want to but that response of yours is very distasteful.

So, you don't want others to take you seriously. Sock accounts do not count by the way. Be brave. Nobody is going to know your true identity anyways.

Who's Boycotting the NBA??? (CHINA)
RochesterRob replied to wppete's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't know anybody personally that watches the NBA other than one cousin. -
As I have said before businesses are going to put up all the fight they can muster hence the rehiring. Whether they can over come what was lost during the previous few months is yet to be seen. Restaurants can not survive on reduced seating/sales for very long. There is strain on the system. I think we will see the real picture of what the impact of the shutdown was in another 15-18 months. Enjoy the good news but be prepared for the shockwaves. Places such as Del Lago Casino still have not reopened and employ nearly 1700 in a county that has around 35,000 people total. A county such as Genesee is very dependent on what happens with Darien Lake which is late to open. Many of our friends, neighbors, and relatives are struggling in WNY because of the shutdown. The largest sales tax revenue generator in Ontario County which is Eastview Mall has sat idle for 3 1/2 months now with no date set to reopen.

To take the first step on a long road to build your reputation to the point where others may begin to take you seriously of course.

He's very afraid to say anything and I fail to understand why. While I have mentioned parts of my background before in the last several days I have reiterated that I am Catholic, have Irish ancestry, and that my dad's family (Germans) moved to the Western US in the late 19th Century. I feel that I have protected my identity sufficiently as I have given out no names and mentioned ethnic groups that are not minor in the scheme of things in WNY. I fail to see why Tiberius could not do the same thing unless there is something that he is ashamed of. Further, a little discussion of his background would be a start to rehab his reputation as a poster although he would have quite a long ways to go after that. I would think that gaining some respect as a poster would be something that he craves.

So you know the in's and out's of a young girl? I knew you had problems but making such a comparison is very distasteful.
-
I think that Tibs is one of the two down on all fours.
-
No. Just give me your background instead. English? Polish? Irish? Italian? 19th Century? 18th Century?

2020 Election is officially Trump vs Biden

Alannah Myles made me wonder why the trend of chicks in chaps did not happen sooner. -
You dusting this off again? By the way I am really hurt that you will not discuss your background. Anyways....... Tiberius wakes up this morning and goes to the bathroom. His shower delivers water and his toilet flushes because some conservative did not think that it was beneath his dignity to work for the town doing something other than sit at a desk. He takes his medication that costs ten dollars because his company employs enough workers to spread out the cost of health care. The workers are employed because the liberal wacko's did not succeed in their effort to shut the company down because it uses nuclear energy to generate electricity. Tiberius' bacon and eggs are there to be eaten because farmers were allowed the freedom to raise whatever animal or plant best fit their business. Tiberius uses his shampoo despite objections by liberals that it promotes the growth of algae in the nearby lake. Tiberius dresses, walks outside, and takes a deep breath. This is possible because the town does not have oppressive zoning which means your neighbor sees you only a couple of feet away from your porch. Tiberius has that sidewalk versus a muddy path because most of the town's taxpayers have the income to service the tax collected due to the freedom to pursue a career versus liberals telling them how to live and work. Tiberius has that good job because the government did not interfere with that employer's right to employ the best workers by insisting on graft. etc.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Since things seem to be slow for you today maybe you can head on over to the slavery thread so we can discuss your background. -
What's your favorite crockpot recipe?
RochesterRob replied to Westside's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I know people that use their crockpots year round. Depends on what you want to use it for. Great way to cook if you can't be home all day and don't want something out of a can or delivery all the time. -
The layoffs are real cold buckets of water that will push attention away from websites and associations that have an agenda. The expected layoffs in government if they have started are not in full swing at this point. Can't have layoffs indefinitely and not affect the economy of an area. I just don't see the economy of WNY as being real rosy at this point in time which is the primary worry for me or anybody I know.
-
I don't see how that there can not be ebbs and flows in this. Plus the view on the economy is peripheral. If you see nothing but good then your opinion will be optimistic. As pointed out by my college stats prof many years ago surveys and polls can be skewed. What I see in my view in WNY is restaurants that are now up for sale and closed complexes such as casinos and indoor malls that employ thousands of people. Small auto lots that had very little income for a couple of months are now getting uncomfortable calls from creditors who are no longer interested in "we are all in this together" euphoria. Their bills are now getting uncomfortably behind so now they have to shake the tree even though there may not be enough money on it to catch up.

Slavery Ended 150 years ago. GET OVER IT!
RochesterRob replied to StHustle's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I figure that his family got real fat and happy during its time here in the colonies then the USA. If anybody should be writing a reparations check it most likely should be them. -
Career highlights include The Dick Van ***** Show and movies such as the Russians are Coming (X2)! He was 98.
