That's the problem in that each veteran QB will decline at his own rate. There is no cheating nature 99 percent of the time big time QB or not. Now would be a good time for the Giants as going after a top prospect will never be any cheaper along with the insurance in case Eli hits the wall soon. I think that the other teams sitting at the top of the draft order will have the same outlook. They also all share in that the expectations are low currently so there is no better time to restock some of those shelves versus a year where they appear a few players away and be condemned for not addressing the QB position a few years earlier. I also agree that there is little incentive for anybody to work a deal with a team such as the Bills as somebody might come along with a better offer between now and April. A lot of talk here is just "Bills wishing" in that people here expect other teams to work against their own benefit to help the Bills out. To repeat my own outlook look for a Bradford signing and maybe Bean moves up to the mid-teens in the draft if a guy he really likes falls. Otherwise the first two picks will be DL and LB not necessarily in that order. He will also look to trade down out of pick 21 to gather more choices and will increase the flexibility of getting a QB at the bottom of the first or top half of the second. We are not one or two players away from making the playoffs this fall so there really is very little room for a luxury pick even if it is a QB. If everything looks squared away other than QB going into 2019 then maybe Bean mortgages the farm for a top QB.

Groy will fill in perfectly at center

It will disappoint people here but this is the year where the saying "build from the line out" could not be more true. -
If you are saying bet the farm and trade up into the top 5 then no. I don't see a Peyton Manning in any of the prospects. In other words a top rated prospect that is pretty much plug in and play plus expect short term results.

Would you eat horse poo for a Bills Superbowl win?

As long as it is not something like 28.3 ounces worth. See what I did there. Hint Arthur Blank. -

It still would not hurt to address interior OL via the draft as Incognito is getting long in the tooth and our depth is not fantastic. Probably a second day choice. -

Yep, Interior OL should be addressed via the draft this spring. -
I was going to mention that until I saw you cover that. Only the lowest of the low torture animals. The cat, dog, whatever has no concept of what its owner is like towards other people. Last fall I saw a dead cat along the road and could only imagine the horrifying last hours it had to live to get to where it was. It was literally heartbreaking to think about.

I would say more often than not BB's hard line approach worked best for the team's objectives. When it comes to player discipline you can't win them all. It definitely help that NE was always in the conversation for the Super Bowl to keep guys in line. BB was a Parcells disciple who in turn was a Ray Perkins disciple who ran his teams such as TB like he was a drill sargeant. You can get away with it if you win right away but if you languish you will have a mutiny which happened to Perkins ending his NFL career as a HC.

Fred Smerlas Has Become A Patriot Apologist

Turncoat. Talk about a word I have not heard since grade school which was many many years ago. -
Fred Smerlas Has Become A Patriot Apologist
RochesterRob replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Give Smerlas ten years after the Pats have been down and hopeless for as long. If the Bills show anything close to success Smerlas will be back on the WNY bandwagon. BTW he holds grudges for a long time and most likely is still miffed at the Bills for putting him out to pasture in favor of Jeff Wright. Had he not been so colorful he might have stuck for the first Bills SB and he might have been a difference maker. I guess you either loved him or hated him as another player in that locker room. His style flew better with Knox than with Levy. -
I should have also said having been around for a while now that for me Dolphin fans were worse especially in the Shula and Marino eras.

Their defense has fallen back to earth with the lack of a premier DL or LB. The perpetual inability of the rest of the AFCE to give them a proper throttling has allowed them to win the East nearly every year and pretty much make the Super Bowl a two step operation because they often have home field most of the time.

I'll pass along what people from that area have told me over the years and in a lot of cases that predates Kraft, Bledsoe, and others before the modern era. The order of reverence is Sox then Celtics then Bruins right behind the Celtics, and then the Patriots. They will put the Pats gear deep in the closet and the other gear will be on the back of the chair or coat hook. Then they will deny that the Pats were ever that important to them. They have had lots of experience treating the Pats as the redheaded step child.

Tre White possibly leaks Gaines is leaving?
RochesterRob replied to WMDman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would not mind Gaines back under a team friendly contract but looking at mocks I would not be surprised if we pick a CB in the 4th or 5th round. After all building up DB's is McD's specialty. -
Yep, Wentz set the table for Foles to finish the season and he played well enough not to lose and in a few games better than that. Kind of like Doug Williams of the Redskins back in 1987. He had that one magical season and that was that.

Predict which team will sign Kirk Cousins (Poll)
RochesterRob replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That has been my opinion with Elway in that he was "one of them" and gets a little more respect than a guy who was working on his MBA at age 22 instead of prepping for the NLF draft.
